‘Are You Moving Out Of California?’

Original Article

Several weeks ago, I flew to Texas to visit my friend Mollie, who had left California in 2022. Whenever I told someone I was going to Texas, their first question was, “Are you moving out of California?” How different from when I moved to California in 1977… “I’m so jealous!” That was the reaction of family and friends when my husband and I announced that, after one year of marriage, we were leaving New York. It was a difficult decision because I was close to my parents, particularly my mother. For us, the primary reason was the weather. We did not enjoy humid summers or frozen winters and wanted to move

Sarasota, Florida - recently saw three vehicles parked in Publix parking lot with California plates on two of them and the other an Oregon plate. Doubt they drove 3,000 + miles to vacation.

I moved to So CA in 1979 for work and to Silicon Valley 1987 , again for work. I recently moved to Colorado for less expensive housing and maybe more work, but I don’t miss the crazy politics and congestion either. I mis my friends but they are only a phone call away.

This native born Californian has been in virtually all states but Alaska. Cannot imagine leaving. We'll just watch the pendulum swing as it has in the past. As for the Floridian who believes no Californian would drive to Florida, that is not true. We've done it more than once.

We looked at some other states, but I am born and raised in beautiful northern California. Smack in the middle of what has become Silicon Valley. I love living here and resent how bad the left has made it politically. I moved to the Sierras during covid. I love my beautiful conservative peaceful town. People say God bless you, I will pray for you and Merry Christmas. Amazing. And very few masks during covid.

#8, hubby and I have driven nearly to all 48 mainland states (will finish up the rest in the fall), and we watch the license plates. California is among the most frequent travelers we see, which also includes Ohio, South Dakota, Minnesota, Texas, New York, Michigan and Florida. These are the plates we tend to see no matter where we travel. Oh, and Canada…go figure.

I am trying tofigure out why license plates are the new indicator. Like most Californians we'd rather drive than fly. Have traversed the country many times, driven to other stat4es to visit relatives, driven to various sttes to ski, and so forth. I imagine our plates would now be tqllied as indicators of our having moved. Goofy.

President Joe Biden is planning to announce a sweeping new policy Tuesday that would lift the threat of deportation for hundreds of thousands of people married to U.S. citizens, an aggressive election-year action on immigration that had been sought by many Democrats. Biden will announce the new program at a White House event to celebrate the Obama-era 'dreamers' directive that offered deportation protections for young undocumented immigrants, according to three people briefed on the White House plans. The policy will allow roughly 490,000 spouses of U.S. citizens an opportunity to apply for a 'parole in place' program, which would shield them from deportations and offer them work permits

More than 171,000 women traveled out of state to have abortions in 2023, according to data from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute. Guttmacher’s Monthly Abortion Provision Study project — which estimates the number of abortions between January of 2023 and March of 2024 in states without total abortion restrictions — found that out-of-state travel for abortion has more than doubled since 2019, when 73,100 women crossed state lines for abortions, USA Today reported of the study. As the election looms in the background of every news story, outing conservative Justices seems to be a weekly segment in the progressive media. Yet Kurtz and a panelist spoke out against the hypocrisy of these actions, defending SCOTUS. Following soundbites of Lauren Windsor and the deceptively recorded conversations she had with Justice Alito and Chief Justice Roberts and the liberal media’s overwrought reaction, Kurtz questioned: “Clay, with so many shows treating this as a scandal,

Clashes at The Washington Post (WaPo) between publisher Will Lewis and the company’s staff highlights a growing trend of activist-minded reporters butting heads with their business side throughout liberal media — and stark decline in these outlets’ performance show their current model is simply not working. Outlets like WaPo, The New York Times and NPR have all experienced high-profile inner conflicts between management and underlings in recent months. These battles underscore a shift in media where reporters see themselves as the vanguard for democracy rather than objective fact-finders, former employees and media analysts told the Daily Caller.

During the first press conference in about three weeks, reporters asked Jean-Pierre if the White House was “worried” about Biden’s curious behavior that “appears to be a pattern.” The questions came after a video on Sunday showed former President Barack Obama walking Biden off the stage after the president appeared to freeze at a fundraiser. Another video from last week appeared to show Biden wandering off into the distance in Europe before Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni turned him back to the group.
