In the history of U.S. corporate pay packages, there have been plenty of massive payouts worth almost $1 billion in today's dollars. But none comes close to the $46 billion pay deal Tesla shareholders on Thursday handed to CEO Elon Musk.
The results of the shareholder vote, which concluded today, were announced during Tesla's annual meeting, prompting a standing ovation from shareholders attending the Thursday event. Musk had already declared victory, writing late Wednesday on his social media platform X that shareholders were voting to approve the pay package by "wide margins."

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday signed a $116.5 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year, after vetoing close to $950 million in spending approved by lawmakers in March.
“Some of the stuff I don't think was appropriate for state tax dollars,” DeSantis said of the vetoes during a budget-signing event at The Vault, a venue in Tampa. “Some of the stuff you'll see are things that I support, but we have actual programs for.” A wide range of groups quickly praised the budget for including money for their priorities. As examples, the Everglades Trust touted more than $740 million for Everglades restoration, the Florida Health Care Association

US President Joe Biden awkwardly saluted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as he arrived at the G7 summit in Italy on Thursday.
Biden, 81, was the last of the world leaders to arrive at the venue in southern Puglia as he shuffled onto the stage where Meloni was waiting. The two spoke for a few moments before Meloni pointed towards a frame of the G7 logo, which each leader in attendance signed with a marker. As he began his walk off the platform, Biden raised his right arm over his eye and saluted his Italian counterpart.

An activist judge struck down Florida's ban on "gender-affirming care" for minors on Tuesday, delivering a setback to Gov. Ron DeSantis' attempt to protect children. The ruling claimed the law it was "unconstitutional" because it denied "medically appropriate care."
Judge Robert L. Hinkle stated in his decision that "gender identity is real," using his power to legalize the mutilation of children. U.S. District Judge Robert L. Hinkle ruled the ban is unconstitutional at least in part because it applies even when gender-affirming care for minors is “medically appropriate,” according to the judgment.

Democrats saw what happened in Europe last week, and they can read the polls. The Biden administration’s policy of mass illegal immigration is hugely unpopular, and after nearly four feckless years, the Democrats are finally going to pay a price. So this morning’s New York Times email suggests that it is time to change course.
The Times begins by acknowledging that current levels of immigration (legal and illegal) are more or less unprecedented:
The first thing to understand is how unusual the modern migration boom has been. In nearly every large Western country, the foreign-born share of the population has risen sharply since 1990. It’s not clear

Disney's destruction of the Star Wars franchise has reached peak demolition with its new series, The Acolyte. In the past, Disney has created Star Wars shows that are woke, incoherent or girl-bossy, with the exception of early seasons of The Mandalorian and Andor. But the "House of Mouse" has straight-up lost its mind with this new series, released on June 4th. The first two episodes of The Acolyte, set long before the Republic crumbled and the Empire took over, premiered last week. The opening episodes fulfilled Hollywood diversity quotas while rolling out a murder mystery in which Jedi are killed by a mysterious woman

How much more are Jews in New York City expected to take?
Earlier this week, a protest in front of the Nova Music Festival Exhibition on Wall Street, which commemorates those slaughtered at a music festival in Israel during the October 7 attacks, waved Hezbollah and Hamas flags and a “Long live October 7th” banner, lit flares and chanted “long live the intifada.”
On Tuesday, a mob took over a New York City subway car and chanted, in a call and repeat fashion, “Raise your hands if you’re a Zionist. This is your chance to get out.”

Pro-Palestinian protesters tried to set up several new encampments on the UCLA campus Monday. The result was chaos. Eventually 27 people were arrested but half-a-dozen UCPD officers were injured in the process.

Ibrahim Bharmal is on video leading a crowd of pro-Hamas protesters assaulting a Jewish student at Harvard.
You may remember the incident, not because it was unique, but because it was among the first examples of "pro-Palestine" supporters on an elite college campus getting physical with Jewish students by preventing their free movement. And what doubled the shock value was that Bharmal was the editor of the Harvard Law Review--one of the most prestigious positions a law student could attain. Bharmal wasn't punished by Harvard--of course not!--but he is facing misdemeanor charges (too little, IMHO).

Here is another way to tell that Democrats are panicking: They feel obliged to deal, somehow, with the fact that Joe Biden is senile. The Washington Post headlines: “How Republicans used misleading videos to attack Biden in a 24-hour period.”
President Biden, who at 81 is a couple of decades younger than many of the veterans he honored during Thursday’s D-Day commemoration in Normandy…
Well then, he is practically youthful! Of course, the centenarians are not running for president.
…nonetheless found his age and fitness in the spotlight as selectively edited clips of him circulated online to paint the picture of a physically and mentally challenged commander in chief.

A federal judge on Tuesday overturned parts of Florida’s law restricting the use of “gender-affirming care” on children. The judge declared multiple statutes related to puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and surgeries to be unconstitutional.
The law was aimed at preventing medical facilities from prescribing irreversible “gender-affirming” treatments to young children. Several studies have shown these treatments to be not only ineffective but harmful to minors suffering from gender dysphoria. Nevertheless, the judge struck down the measure.

It turns out the Biden administration has released potential terrorists with explosive aspirations into America’s interior. Are we surprised? No. Worried? Heck, yes.
On June 11, Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin tweeted that a “federal source” confirmed ICE, working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, recently arrested eight Tajikistan nationals who entered America illegally and had suspected ISIS ties. The Tajikistanis were spread across the country, in New York City, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. The best — or worst — part? They were previously “vetted” by the Biden administration’s border security and released into our country.
