Judge Juan Merchan, who oversaw former President Donald Trump’s business records trial, warned Trump’s attorney, Todd Blanche, and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass of a comment from someone claiming to be the cousin of one of the jurors. In a letter addressed to Blanche and Steinglass, Merchan revealed that the court was “aware of a comment” posted to the Facebook page for the Unified Court System, in which a Facebook user revealed the jury’s guilty verdict a day before Trump was convicted.

BEWARE. This could be a ruse to vacate the first trial and retry POTUS. A new trial would make him sit in a courtroom for another five weeks and be under the gag rule. BEWARE.

A question…..does double jeopardy rule apply in this case if a mistrial is declared?

To answer your question, #4, the answer no. In mistrials, there is no official verdict so double jeopardy does not apply. Frankly, I think the guy who made this post made it up.

There's at least reasons for his actions. 1. It's public, to not do so would be against common judicial practice. Also, he might be a bit nervous. 2. Just because the story is there, doesn't mean he will find it credible. Mistrial would be considered only if it is a credible report. 3. He can delay sentancing, then screw Trump over in the middle of the convention "Report to Rikers, NOW!"

4&5, correct about not double jeopardy, but a retrial probably couldn't occur before the election. Still, plenty of excuses to continue to gag order Trump and prevent him from campaigning. If a new trial comes after election, they may be counting on removing Secret Service, and Trump having an 'accident' in jail.

My conspiracy theory is: If true, This gives to corrupt judge, AG and prosecutors an offramp where they avoid any blowback from the trial and conviction as well as the embarrassment of having the conviction reversed for a number of valid reasons. Declare a mistrial and Trump walks free, shy several million in legal fees and no opportunity to clear his name. The media and libs will forever label Trump the convicted felon who got off on a technicality. He's still a criminal who walked because the stupid juror talked to his family. Most people hate seeing real criminals get off for stupid reasons. They will "talk" about a retrial, but wont, unless Trump wins in 2024.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said Hunter Biden’s guilty verdict on three felony counts was a “step towards accountability,” then added the Justice Department needed to go further. Noting the initial plea deal reached between Hunter Biden and the Justice Department, only to be blown up by a federal judge, he said in a statement: Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal was smoked out after scrutiny by a federal judge. Today’s verdict is a step toward accountability but until the Department of Justice investigates everyone involved in the Bidens’ corrupt influence peddling schemes that generated over $18 million in foreign payments to the Biden family, it will be clear

It appears that even man’s best friend isn’t fond of sleepy Joe Biden. A video is currently making the rounds on social media, showing a dog named Mollie reacting very differently to images of Donald Trump and Joe Biden on TV. The video was originally posted on TikTok by user bestdad_ceo. His caption humorously questioned his pet’s political leanings: “Not sure what’s the political status of my dog but she goes crazy at the end… I think my dog is a pupublican.” In the video, Mollie is perfectly content, sitting calmly while watching Donald Trump on television. However, the moment the channel is switched to display President Biden, Mollie’s demeanor changes dramatically.

This war rages right here on American soil and is being fought by home-grown and sometimes hidden armies dedicated to destroying all that is right and good for America and frankly, the rest of the planet. Before you conjure up visions of armed white supremacist militias sporting shaved heads and Swastika tattoos stockpiling weapons on a remote compound in the hills of Montana, stop. CNN’s Elie Honig was not bullish on the Georgia RICO case starting up before the end of the 2024 election cycle, adding a definitive “it’s over” on that question. As Spencer wrote last Friday, that trial, which has been beset by serious ethics allegations lobbed against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, has been postponed. The reason why Honig said there’s no hope of getting this legal action restarted before Election Day is the date before the appeals court, which is the first week in October, and that’s a “tentative” date: :

The conventional wisdom concerning vice-presidential picks is that they don’t really matter because voters focus on the top of the ticket in presidential elections. This is ordinarily true, but 2024 is no ordinary election. This time the winner will be the oldest president ever inaugurated, so it’s eminently possible that his vice-president will be called on to finish his term. We know what that means if Biden wins, so Trump’s running mate will receive more than the usual amount of voter scrutiny. Thus, he must not choose another irascible white male or any Florida resident. This eliminates all but one
