The troubles we’re confronting at home are so many it’s hard to know where to begin. It’s understandable that most voter attention is focused here. We talk mainly about the consequences -- none good -- to the economy, the border, and crime should Biden -- contrary to the glaring, ongoing polling trends against him -- win reelection. War -- not civil war, which is predicated on a lot of maybes -- is mentioned as a possibility if Biden returns to the White House. But it’s primarily a background consideration. It shouldn’t be. If or when Biden’s leftist and progressive Democrat crew strike up a merry tune and call for America’s young people to enter the military to support a Biden led foreign war against China and/or Russia they will get a big surprise when very few young Americans show up for induction. Maybe Biden and crew can fall back on raising and training up LGBTQ or whatever so-called Ranger battalions and send them to beat up on the Chinese and Russians, and if they need more cannon fodder they can always promise to give illegal aliens immediate US citizenship, and most importantly to the leftist and socialist Democrats US voting rights, for joining up. But before any mass deployment of their “newcomer” filled brigades to war zones, chances are they will find that a very big percentage of those “New American” military members have decided to return to their native countries until after the “Big Bugout” that Biden is bound to call once his surely incompetent and weak “war fighting” plans and strategies are proven to be ineffective, resulting in many US casualties with no gain on the actual battlefields that shake up US voters who are knowledgeable enough to pay attention. After the fighting ends, the foreign origin deserters, using their US citizenship status will just return to the USA, knowing that the leftist and progressive Democrats will simply grant them an amnesty just as they did with all the draft dodgers after the Vietnam War.

FTA - "More lies, more Russia Hoax spin from the unsmart, untalented, establishment water-carrier Victoria Nuland. But pay heed to her words. She’s indicating where the corrupt D.C. establishment is heading. A war with Russia or China or both are a miscalculation away. The imperative to elect Trump this autumn couldn’t be greater." Reading between the lines, a global war with Russia and China should be regarded as a global war between the new world order and those who oppose it.

Please pardon this second post - FTA - "A major war with either Russia or China -- or both -- wouldn’t just be an overseas affair. Nor would war be largely conventional. Asymmetric warfare will happen." Heed this quote by Smith. If you have read Kurt Schlichter's most recent book, "The Attack", you will know what Smith is referring to.

FTA: Bellicosity and insufferable progressive moralism -- hallmarks of Biden's foreign policy -- are underlaid by a smarmy, incestuous relationship with defense industry players and Pentagon ticket-punchers. Republicans of like ilk need to be booted to the margins. In 1964, LBJ and that car-guy McNamara unleashed the "Military-Industrial Complex," the nation's military establishment and industries "supplin' the Army with the tools of the trade," something which, in his Beltway farewell address, U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower famously warned threatened American democracy. They made their billions feeding at the federal trough, supplying men fighting and dying in combat. Naturally, LBJ wanted and received their complete political support, and who knows how much else? We should have charged the Joint Chiefs of Staff with dereliction of duty and McNamara and Johnson with treason. Deep State treason, precisely like that, remains the clear and present danger that is destroying America today. MAGA Vet.

Minor edit: “if Biden is re-selected…” And re war: if there is a “draft” of some sort, the kids today are too lazy (physically) and too self-absorbed to fight. If you think about building this country via the Revolutionary War and then WW II, we could NEVER do the same today.

On Memorial Day, during the Annual Ashli Babbitt Freedom March in D.C., I had the chance to speak with Hanna Rosin, who was covering the march for the Atlantic magazine with fellow reporter Lauren Ober. As I tried to explain while we were walking, Ober and Rosin have an extraordinary opportunity. They can be the first journalists to share with their half of America the epic story of January 6 — the true story, that is. I cautioned, however, that as MSNBC learned the hard way, there are powerful people who do not want that story told. The ignorance about January 6 is staggering.

Sometimes unexpected but dramatic events tear off the thin veneer of respectability and convention. What follows is the exposure and repudiation of long-existing but previously covered-up pathologies. Events like the destruction of the southern border over the last three years, the October 7 massacre and ensuing Gaza war, the campus protests, the COVID-19 epidemic and lockdown, and the systematic efforts to weaponize our bureaucracies and courts have all led to radical reappraisals of American culture and civilization.

The jury is deliberating, and we should be prepared for a conviction. That’s not to say there isn’t reasonable doubt all over the hush money trial involving Donald Trump, but this whole trial was a circus from the start so it’s unsurprising that its finish was more of a clown show. As Katie wrote this morning, none of this is normal. The judge’s instructions to the jury is aberrant, with some folks commenting on social media that these guidelines for the jury wouldn’t be legal in Zimbabwe. It will only take four jurors to convict Trump [emphasis mine]: …Judge Juan Merchan has given the jury their instructions…

New York State Justice Juan Merchan, who is presiding over New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg's trial of President Trump over a bookkeeping issue is getting sleazier now that Bragg's case is starting to fall apart, giving the Red Queen of the Alice In Wonderland story a run for her money. At issue now are his instructions to the 12-person jury as it goes into deliberations, telling them that they don't need to agree about what the supposed 'underlying' crime of Donald Trump was that would make his hush money payment to porn "star" Stormy Daniels a felony, which is the legal basis for turning the bookkeeping issue into a 34-count felony.

Consumer spending rose but at a slower pace than previously thought. The Commerce Department had previously estimated that the nation’s gross domestic product — the total output of goods and services — expanded at a 1.6% rate last quarter. The first quarter’s GDP growth marked a sharp slowdown from the vigorous 3.4% rate in the final three months of 2023.
