The use of phrases such as “pregnant people” or “penis owners” in cultural or political discourse is sometimes met with confusion, or even anger.
Why use these terms when, as some people ask, “only women can get pregnant” or when “only men have penises?”
Those people and institutions using gender-neutral language aim to be cognizant of the fact that sex doesn’t always align with gender identity, said psychiatrist Dr. Jack Drescher, past president of the Group for Advancement of Psychiatry and clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University in New York City. And it’s the most inclusive, streamlined way to refer to everyone who, regardless of their gender identity,

I don't know how the Biden team people can look at themselves in the morning, knowing what they are trying to sell the public with Joe Biden. They have seriously sold their souls for Democratic control, but in the bargain, they're endangering the nation, with the empty husk of Joe Biden "in charge."
I wrote about some of the bizarre remarks he made at the Cinco de Mayo event at the White House on Monday, including about two-year-olds crossing the border and the remark he made about cutting former President Donald Trump (which sounded like a threat).

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) did not say whether she met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un when responding to the inaccuracies reported in her new book.
Noem has been facing mounting criticism over her forthcoming book, set to be released this week, and her inclusion of a story where she details shooting and killing a dog and a goat on her property about 20 years ago. In recent days, she has faced additional scrutiny after writing in her book that she had met Kim while serving in Congress on the House Armed Services Committee.
The Dakota Scout reported last week that a meeting between Noem and Kim

Former CNN host Chris Cuomo said in a recent news segment that he is suffering from a health condition after he received a COVID-19 vaccine.
Mr. Cuomo made the revelation during his NewsNation program when he was interviewing a nurse practitioner, Sean Barcavage, who was featured in a recent New York Times article about vaccine injuries.
“We know that vaccines can have unintended consequences, AKA side effects, but nobody’s really talking about it because they’re too afraid of blame, and they just want it to go away,” Mr. Cuomo said. “But the problem is people like Sean—and me—and millions of others who still have weird stuff with their bloodwork and their lives

As we've previously documented, the Biden White House has employed a new strategy in recent weeks designed to make the way President Joe Biden shuffles when he walks across the South Lawn a little less noticeable to the public.
It's what I call "Operation Hide Joe Biden," and up until Thursday, the hiding consisted of his handlers swarming him as he either walked towards or away from Marine One, making it harder for him to be visible and in some instances effectively making it impossible to see him.
"Some Biden advisers have told Axios they're concerned that videos of Biden walking and shuffling alone — especially across the grass —

Shares of Carvana (CVNA.N), opens new tab surged nearly 30% in extended trading on Wednesday after the used-car seller forecast a surprise rise in current-quarter retail sales and core profit.
Carvana's results come as high interest rates prompt consumers to look for deals on second-hand cars instead of buying new ones.
Its shares, which have a short interest of 27% of free float, are up about 65% this year after recording an 11-fold rise last year.
The surge in its stock price is set to add about $5 billion to its market capitalization of $17.6 billion, as of Wednesday's close.
The used-car retailer said it was expecting a sequential increase in adjusted core profit

While story after story comes out detailing just how deep leftist activists have infiltrated our school system, this story shows that there's at least some good sense in Oklahoma. According to Fox News, Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters fired a warning shot at The Satanic Temple after they said they would be placing their on ministers in public schools if Senate Bill 36 becomes law. The bill, recently passed by Oklahoma's House, would allow volunteer chaplains into public schools provided a background check clears them of any prior criminal history, including sex offenders. The bill also allows for chaplains to be dismissed for negligence and moral misconduct.

Five West Virginia middle-school track athletes who protested the participation of a transgender student in a recent competition have been barred from future meets and are now engaged in a legal battle with their school district that could end up at the Supreme Court.
On April 18, during the 2024 Harrison County Middle School Championships, the student athletes — all girls — made local headlines by stepping out of the shot-put circle, choosing to forfeit rather than compete against a 13-year-old transgender female. The silent protest came after a federal appeals court struck down part of West Virginia's transgender sports ban, allowing the 13-year-old in question to compete

Just how badly do Senate Democrats — and Presidentish Joe Biden — want to make it official that they're The Official Party of Violent Antisemitism™? Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and his oh-so-slender majority are going to help us find out. The House on Wednesday passed Rep. Mike Lawler's (R-N.Y.) Antisemitism Awareness Act one day after police cleared out a pro-Hamas occupation at Columbia University.
According to Just The News, the bill "seeks to make the Department of Education adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism when enforcing the 1964 Civil Rights Act on college campuses." The Alliance’s definition is a little broad for my taste,

I keep getting ads like these turning up in my social media feeds: (Snip) I especially like the Yale person saying they read applicant essays “very carefully.” Probably almost as carefully as Stanford:
"Student gets into Stanford after writing #BlackLivesMatter on application 100 times
CNN — If you’re applying to college, you can spend hours crafting the perfect admissions essay. Or you can just write the same word 100 times.
It worked for Ziad Ahmed. The Princeton, New Jersey, high school senior was recently admitted to Stanford University after writing #BlackLivesMatter 100 times in response to the application question, 'What matters to you and why?' "
Naturally he was admitted.

The documentary Rather made its appearance yesterday on Netflix. Directed by Frank Marshall, the film premiered last year at the Tribeca Film Festival. It now becomes generally available via the streaming service. I watched the documentary twice yesterday in order to comment on it here. As it turns out, Star Tribune media critic Neal Justin fairly describes it and nails its shortcomings in 114 words, but there is more to be said.
Rather celebrates the career of Dan Rather in television journalism. It is the kind of thing CBS News would have prepared for Rather on the occasion of his retirement from the network had he voluntarily retired

A protest at Emory University has descended into chaos as Georgia police officers fired rubber bullets and tasers at anti-Israel activists.
In this, the latest explosive example of unrest on American college campuses, students and faculty members were arrested as videos showed Atlanta Police Officers and Georgia State Troopers wrestling them on the ground. A demonstrator was also seen being tasered by an officer as he lay in the grass.
Another protest broke out at Northeastern University's Centennial Common as more than 100 pro-Palestine protestors gathered in tents with University and Boston Police standing by.
