MSNBC host Al Sharpton said Friday on “The ReidOut” that former President Donald Trump doing an advertisement for the “God Bless the USA Bible” was “insulting” to those who believe. [Snip] Sharpton said, “I have never heard him even discuss religion, ... for him to use that as a marketing tool, where the money goes to Donald Trump, not to a cause, not to help the poor, not even to his campaign. To him. Which means he’s really doing this to pay off lawyers, to get out of the porn star situation, defrauding bank situation.”

As an adjunct to this article, while channel-surfing Friday evening, happened upon the PBS Washington Week panel discussing “a $60 "God Bless the USA" Bible complete with copies of the nation's founding documents so invested time in a program that this household does not waste time watching. Derogatory comments, assumptions, presumptions and typically leftist opinions permeated the entire segment. An article posted at NPR (“Cash-strapped Trump is now selling $60 Bibles, U.S. Constitution” - Rachel Treisman – 3-27-24) appears to have served as points of discussion for the panel that included a comparison of President Trump’s church attendance being sporadic versus Joe Biden’s being weekly; a comparison of struggling campaign funds for President Trump versus the well-funded Biden campaign; and, the personal financial plight of President Trump’s legal expenses.
Ultimately, the skepticism about profits from the sales of the Bible being used for President Trump’s reelection campaign emerged despite the Bible website indicating the sales and website are not political and nothing to do with any political campaign. That distrust was underscored by finding it necessary to point out the website “uses President Trump’s name, likeness and image ‘under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC’ that has President Trump “listed as the manager, president, secretary and treasurer of CIC Ventures LLC in a financial disclosure from last year.”
For the record, a bit of research shows that Mr. Greenwood tried to promote the Bible in 2021 without success due to problems with publishing; publishers would agree to publish then “reverse their decision due to separation of church and state” as well as having business partners drop out. Mr. Greenwood and President Trump have been friends for many years and he found “a publisher and marketing partner in the former President Trump to move the production and sale of the Bible forward.” If it possibly took the formation of CIC Ventures LLC to help Mr. Greenwood get the Bible published, God bless President Trump! To this point in time, President Trump has done his best to keep his promises to the American people so to question his statement that profits will not be going to his campaign is inappropriate.
Based on the sarcastic headline of the NPR article, it is clear that NPR and PBS appear to hold sway to a specific partisan bias rather than nonpartisan using government-funded taxpayer money.

Al Sharpton is a race-baiter extraordinaire; where there is violence to incite he's right on top of it.
There in nothing in his character that is remotely Christian. He is absolutely the worst of the worst.

He complains as if he was forced to fork over $60. It’s voluntary. What he is really saying is that he wishes he’d first thought of it.

As if Al Sharpton gives one whit about God's Word. The fact the man calls himself a "reverend" is much more of an affront.

Meanwhile....Sharpton has still not paid off his (black) campaign vendors and suppliers from the last time HE ran for President in 2004...still claims 100% of housing, travel, bespoke designer clothing, and even jewelry, as "Tax Exempt" through his "Church"(which doesn't include a church building)
Sharptons father made his money by sharing in the "Take" at religious services/revivals, promoting his young son as an attraction. He preached his first sermon in 1958 at the age of four, and toured with gospel singer Mahalia Jackson....
In 1963, Sharpton's father left his wife to have a relationship with Sharpton's half-sister. Ada took a job as a maid, but her income was so low that the family qualified for welfare and had to move from middle class Hollis, Queens, to the public housing projects in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn

No one is forcing anyone to buy the “God Bless America” version of the Bible that Pres. Trump is promoting. However liar, bigmouth, thug, charlatan, illiterate and thief Sharpton has cost taxpayers plenty as well those who have lost their lives as a result of his amoral antics.

Al Sharpton's entire life is insulting to believers. Skinny, lazy, lying little racist, fake preacher, thief, extortionist and tax cheat. How can one be so dishonest and still believe he is a servant of God? God does not let skin color get in the way of judgement.

Sharpton calling himself "Reverend" probably drove a lot more people from Christianity than it ever attracted to it.
And how do Trump's actions compare to Biden signing an executive order making Easter into Tranny Visibility Day? How do Christians feel about that?

I want to encourage every Ldotter... go watch that video... then, ask yourself: what President in our lifetime would even come close to saying the things President Trump said about the Bible, God and country? Possibly Reagan, maybe Carter... nope.... I don't think any of them would do a commercial like that. RNC out to take pieces of that and make a battleground ad and contrast it to Biden's transvestite appreciation day comments... 5 pt bump for Trump... thank you President Trump for encouraging America to, once again, revere the sacred book of God and it's appropriate place in our lives as Americans! Thank you, Sir!

Not it is not insulting. What is insulting is politicians who say God is OK with abortion and murder and antisemitism and selling baby parts. That is blasphemous. And they sell their personal reflections on this subject. Trump is putting out the primary document and saying, read it. Here it is. I believe in it. If you don't know where to get one here it is. That is way way way way more respectful than people claiming Jesus was not Jewish, etc. You could buy that Bible and learn a lot of things tha happened in Bethlehem. Did you know it was King David's home place? See what I mean?

Joy Reid and Al Sharpton in religious zeal seem to have forgotten Scripture’s teaching to “Judge not ...” (Matthew 7:1-3) Aside from religious hypocrisy is the accusation by Al Sharpton declaring “money goes to Donald Trump, not to a cause...” needs to have chapter and verse cited as proof that the statement is factual rather than personal biased opinion.
