"Outlaw your car" sounds like such an outrageous phrase, and technically speaking, it isn't true — but only barely. What practical difference is there between outlawing something, and regulating it out of existence? That's exactly what the EPA intends to do this week with strict new rules going forward against gas- and diesel-powered cars and light trucks.
Expected as soon as Wednesday, the Biden EPA "is poised to finalize emissions rules that will effectively require a certain percentage — as much as two-thirds by 2032 — of new cars to be all-electric," according to Inside EVs. Politico sells the expected rule as one that would "tackle the nation’s biggest source

Think of it this way, if they only allow a certain number of charging stations to be built, they have a ready made control of movement within the Country... Go to fast, you won't make the next charging station. In other words, conform, or stay home.

How many Dems and Independents want this?
I call it an ad for Trump.

The USA will simply become like Cuba with people re-doing old cars over-and-over.
I have a 55 Porsche from Cuba (by way of Argentina, where there is a cottage industry re-selling these classics) that is fantastic. Basically, a new vehicle.

What is it with the democrats? Centralized planning never works. They're always trying to enslave people.

How about we tax every EV $5000 a year to fund necessary upgrades to the electric grid? After all, the gasoline tax is supposed to fund the maintenance and construction of roads and bridges.

Outlaw our gasoline / diesel vehicles out in the sparsely populated, wide open spaces of the SouthWest USA, and it will become A "Mad Max" world very quickly.

Yeah, EPA. It's on my long list of governement agencies and other organizations that are in need of serious defunding. Along with FBI, DOJ, CDC, NEA, NIH, HUD, DE, TSA, DHS, UN, WHO, WEF, every state DMV, IRS, ATF, DOD, NASA (SpaceX does it better and cheaper), FDA, AMTRAK, CIA, DIA, NSA, CFPB, DOE, USDA, HHS, DOL, DOT, VA, DEA, ODNI, EEOC, you get the idea. There are literally hundreds of acronym agencies that have long ago lost sight of their core functions and are now useless, bloated money pits or even worse, staffed with repressive woke zealots actively working from within to bring our country down. Defund them all!

You left off 2 words #6. Central Planning never works for everyone !!!I
But is sure as #$%^&*( works for the planners and a few hanger-ons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This whole EV scam will implode when the charging costs go through the roof -
they are already pretty steep in some places - and the grid simply cannot support
the increased load ! Most of the people pushing this hog wash have a knowledge
base regarding electricity and some engineering that stops at a wall socked and a
door hinge respectively !!! YMMV

This is phase one of the automobile industry bloodbath Trump was talking about: Force American automakers to produce vehicles few want to buy and which can't be produced in America at competitive prices. The media won't be able to help the Biden administration sneak this through after inadvertently focusing so much attention on the subject.

Dimocrat voters should never be allowed to drive internal combustion vehicles. Or perhaps we should disallow voting for dimocrats if you drive an ICE vehicle.

Might be a good time to invest in auto repair stores and auto salvage businesses. In 50 years America will look like Cuba with 70 year old cars held together by spit and baling wire.

END THE EPA.
End agency rules having the same effect as law (administrative law - a legal fiction).
Congress, you feckless cowards, take back your legislative power.

This is the obvious counter to the public's sensible rejection of these ludicrous EVs. "Oh, they won't buy them? They prefer gas or diesel? Well, outlaw gas and diesel!". This is no surprise whatsoever.

Everyone's car insurance and home insurance goes up, due to EVs.
(A wreck that messes up that expensive battery and a fire in the garage.)
Then they tax us to put in EV charging stations for EVs that no one wants to drive.
This is a federal government pushing an industry that the free market will not support.
