Donald Trump getting ‘bought out’

Donald Trump called for a cease-fire in the culture war over Bud Light’s transgender fiasco – a move that provoked critics to claim he was getting “bought out” by mega-brewer Anheuser-Busch. The former president took to his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday and declared that Anheuser-Busch was “not a woke company” and that it had already paid a “very big price” for Bud Light’s ad campaign featuring transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Trump added that it was time to move on from outrage over the ads, which he called “a mistake of epic proportions.” The former president noted that Anheuser-Busch “spends $700 million a year with our great

The honest truth is that I would give Busch another shot if they actually apologized and took responsibility for their evil and idiotic decision. But you know they never will, so there won't be another Bud-anything in my fridge ever!!! Of course, as long as Texas has the Shiner Brewery open and making Shiner Boch beer, I doubt there will never be another type of beer in my fridge!!!

#3 states the simple truth. Anheuser-Busch needs to apologize. Pulling our heartstrings with nostalgic commercials featuring the Clydesdales keeping a small town bar from going dry on a Saturday night are not going to cut it. After ten months of radio silence AB is now pretending that all is well and nothing happened last April. They're acting like an unfaithful spouse that ran away with a co-worker and has suddenly come home after months away without a word...expecting a bouquet of roses will make everything OK. They have even enlisted a trusted mutual friend as a go-between. A brave thing for any friend to do, for he risks also offending the originally offended party. I'll give my friend a pass for his effort on behalf of AB. I'm of a mind that Donald Trump knew the reaction of his base to any reappearance of Bud-Lite, whether he called for the customers to come back or not. He knows MAGA people think for themselves, and they don't follow him like the mind-numbed robots the "elite" believe. He heard AB's offer, "We'll give you oodles of money if you tell your followers to buy Bud-Lite again!" And The Donald thought, "Yeah sure, waste your money! I'll tell them and they still won't buy your swill!" MAGA

Like Disney and quite a few others, AB has not learned from their mistake. In the meantime, I've found a beer I like better. No reason to go back. No reason to stop avoiding AB products. Trump's endorsement of them means nothing. There are things I might consult him on. Beer is not one of them.

The beers of my youth are no longer available. When the flap hit, and I heard there were bargains on Bud Lite, I bought a 12 pack. Not bad. Not as good as any of the scotchs I normally drink but, not bad. I found I liked, and have ordered and drank, regular Bud. It's a beer. I hate the new frou frou 'artisnal' beers that are all hoppy. I agree with the guy on Greg Gutfeld who pointed out that AMERICAN jobs were hurt by the boycott. Bud is changing their focus. It isn't an apology. But it's a vast improvement.

The big problem Bud light has now is their customers have gotten used to drinking something else by now. Most likely they switched to something that has flavor and tastes good. I don't think they'll go back to BL because they found something better.

I would be very surprised if people started buying BL to the point they did before they did before. As posters stated, most have found an alternative. A couple of weeks ago I saw a large beer display at Walmart in preparation for the Super Bowl. The Bud Light stack was just like they left it - not one was missing. It is unfortunate that the little people have had to pay for AB's wokeness. I'm wondering if it hit Cindy McCain in the pocketbook since I believe she has a beer distributorship.

AB fired the woman who started this. They also have lost 30% share of the market and tens of millions of dollars as a result of the boycott. Their name has been ruined, but I think Trump is right. The company has gotten the message. They employ thousands of people. Beating up on AB at this point is like beating a dead horse. An apology wouldn't hurt, but when they start laying off people who had nothing to do with the whole marketing message, how is that fair to those people. I'm sure there are people who work for Disney that do not believe in that company's marketing, but they have a good paying job that benefits their family. Is putting these people on unemployment helping anyone?

With the Dylan Mulvaney misstep, Anheuser Busch locked itself into a formidably untenable position. Yes, their past customer base might forgive them if they openly apologized. But an apology would be immediately seized upon by the left-wing media as a bigoted rejection of gay-transgender tolerance. Woke America would erupt in enormous protests and media insults. Anheuser Busch is damned if they do, damned if they don't. They locked themselves into this box and threw away the key. Peyton Manning's ads won't unlock the box.

I understand what Donald Trump is doing. And truth be told Don Jr., from day one, and I believe The Don himself once, right at the beginning of this disaster, both said don't take it out on the employees of AB. And again Don Jr., has been steadfast on his position. So, nice try, NY Post and National Review, but we MAGA people ain't going for your nonsense. AB should apologize. Short and sweet and ask for forgiveness. But guess what? They won't. They can't. The ball less company is so frightened at the backlash that will rain down on them from the fascist woke and main stream media with any apology admission, that even if they wanted to apologize they will not. So no balls, no courage, then you will die. Another Go Woke, Go Broke company bites the dust. And we must weep for their employees. Maybe the Trumps could get someone to put together a deal whereby the employees with financial assistance from some conservative companies could buy the company. Regardless our hearts go out to our innocent fellow Americans, their employees.

The special counsel report which cleared Biden legally has become a loose grenade for his campaign politically. Now everyone is talking about the one thing the Biden campaign didn't want them talking about: Biden's age and mental fitness. President Joe Biden held a press conference on Thursday night to do damage control over special counsel Robert Hur’s report over Biden’s handling of classified documents.
