The organization that operates Texas’ electric grid has warned of potential forced power outages this year if temperatures drop to below freezing like they did last year.
According to The Dallas Morning News, “when Texas’ power demand outstrips available supply,” the organization — the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) — “is forced to shut off power to some customers to maintain the stability of the grid.”
The Morning News reported on Thursday that ERCOT has predicted there’s a 14.4 percent chance that these controlled outages — known as rolling blackouts — will be required this year if temperatures drop to the levels seen last year.

I suspect the good citizens of Texas will suggest ERCOT had better find a deep hole to hide in if that's true. They should have been building coal fired, gas fired and nuke plants. And removing the 'not-so-green' woke products. As well as telling DC to pound sand since the constitution doesn't give them the authority to shutdown a state's power plants. Wonder what their governor will have to say about this?.

If one is lucky enough to have a fur coat (no matter where you live), keep it! There is nothing that will keep you warmer.

Yo, Texas...I thought you're supposed to be Conservative? How could you allow your elected officials to put you in such a dangerous situation? You've got enough oil and gas to be totally energy independent and able to meet all your energy needs. Why fall for the unbelievably stupid green energy con game?

Poster #3, they're called rinos. Insidious, low down, backstabbing rinos. The same ones who tried getting rid of our AG, Ken Paxton. I suspect they are the ones who are behind most of the green energy crapola, aside from demonrats, that is.

Oh, how the liberals are praying for extreme cold or hot weather to test the ERCOT grid!!
The Media pushes this story at every turn, even when there isn’t a threat or even a chance of it happening to condition the minds of the listeners or viewers that it is in evidently going to happen.
If it were not for the gas- and coal-fired power plants, this could potentially happen. With over 400+ years of clean-burning natural gas available, it seem ridiculous that there is such an over reliance on wind generation or solar which is not reliable on some days or can be destroyed by a hail storm

Even a few years ago the thought of Texas being taken over by communists was absurd. Not so absurd now.
And it makes sense. Maybe more than any other state, Texas embodied the spirit of America. So naturally it must be destroyed.

The home generator companies are making a killing in Texas right now. I should know, I bought one.

Incompetence.
If you rely on "renewable Energy this is what you get. You get your energy when the "renewable source" gets its breeze or Ray of sunshine. Renewable apparently never means, "reliable".

So, DUMP those unreliable energy sources and build some RELIABLE energy sources, like coal fired power plants, or nuke plants.

We lived in Montana for 33 yrs. At -20 and below, wind turbines stopped and solar panels cracked. Good old coal and gas fired power plants saved the day.

We already had a wind turbine failure in winter of ''20-'21, and a strain on the system during '21-'22.
And like someone already said, the rinos making common cause with dhimmicrats.

I'm never troubled when my house gets covered in snow and ice.
I just use a hair dryer to melt the ice on my solar panels - - then I shine a Hollywood spotlight on them to generate electric power. And I also use a hand crank to keep my windmill going.
No brownouts or blackouts for me!

Precisely why you want gas in your home! When they choose to freeze you out and make you eat cold food, you just keep on living a good life.
