There are two categories of people who are fanatically devoted to Hamas: Islamists and committed leftists. (Snip) I’d like to advance some newly acquired facts to change the narrative that Jews are colonizers who have used and abused the Arabs with ancient ties to the land. Actually, these facts are new to me but, in point of fact, they have a history. In the late 1600s, Hadriani Relandi, a polyglot who spoke several European languages, along with Arabic, Ancient Greek, and Hebrew, traveled to Ottoman Palestine. The most important takeaway is that Palestine was not an Arab land; it was (and is) a Jewish and Christian land.

Great article, great insights.
If you've never been to an Arab sook, then you might not know that the proclivity to start every negotiation with demanding impossbile, hyperbolic outcomes (and if an outright lie suits the moment, then OK!) is a tactic endemic to all muslim cultures. And that includes geopolitical negotiations.
Which includes Palestinian claims such as:
there is a historical national identity of "Palestine" and "Palestinians."
Israelies have no historical claim to Israel.
Islam is a religion of peace.
Proving yet again that everything a so-called Palestinian says...on any subject...is so fraught with hyperbole and outright falsehood that they simply cannot be trusted.

It is a long article, but don't miss the conclusion: This book written in 1695 completely refutes theories about "Palestinian traditions", "Palestinian people" and leaves almost no link between the land and the Arabs. Most of the population was Jews, almost everyone else is Christians, very few Muslims, mostly Bedouins.
The author, Adriaan Reland, was a geographer, cartographer, traveler, philologist, and linguist who was well-versed in several European languages, Arabic, Ancient Greek, and Hebrew. He visited almost 2,500 settlements mentioned in the Bible.

Must Read. Two demographic counts of Palestine. First one: Traveler in 1690 goes through Palestine settlement by settlement counting Jews Christians and Muslims. The surprising answer is it was mostly Jewish and Christian. Gaza had 500 inhabitants. mostly Jews and Christians. Muslims came to the area after 1830 for the most part.

Yes, an informative read.
FTA: "* Relandi mentions Muslims only as nomadic Bedouins who came to the cities as seasonal workers in agriculture or construction."
Some things never change.
Very interesting #1. It seems the Dims have also adopted such tactics. "Men can have babies" is pretty extreme.

Then why did the Jews who moved from elsewhere find it necessary to expel some Arabs from where they lived in now Israel back in '48?

Reland’s Wikipedia entry says that he never left the Netherlands.

Heck the claim that the Al Asqa moasque is the “furtherest” mosque Mohammed went to on his magic flaying horse “Barack” is also a recent fiction.
That mosque was built after Mohammed was dead, buried, and in Hell.

FTA: 'If you give them facts, they will change their minds.' If only. There are several classes of people who will never change their minds, regardless of facts: leftist academics and politicians, and leftist idiots...but I repeat myself.

Never Arab. In fact, only Muslim controlled, which ended with the Ottomans. I had heard how starting after WW I, Jews began buying land in the area. They often had to deal with Muslim banditry and were pretty severe when they caught them. The alternative was extermination by the Ottoman overseers, for raising a hand against a Muslim. By the time the British established a "Land of Israel", Jews, Christians and Muslims lived within those borders. The Jews had a dream and hired whoever was willing to help turn the land back to the biblical "Land of Milk and Honey".
But Arabs attacked again and again. Many Muslim inhabitants of Israel fled, on the advice from the attacking Arabs, "dwell amongst them, be counted with them by our armies." It was perfectly understood that the Arabs intended to finish what Hitler started.
Is it any wonder the Israelis refused to let the Muslim work force return, under the circumstances? The defeated Arabs refused the refugees entrance as well. This is the origin of the Palestinians:
Carpet baggers who backed the wrong side.

Respond ant 5: Don't know the answer to that unless we have more information. Did Jews displace Muslims! There are bad apples in every bunch. I can recall the Israeli military displacing Muslims in the 60s and 70s expanding kibutzes. It was understood at the time that, first, the land in question had been often been Jewish-owned for decades. The Muslims were essentially squatters. Second, the Muslims were perfectly happy to kill their neighbors. Remove them before you have to eliminate them.

There is a wealth of information here. Fascinating stuff. In addition there is a pretty amusing video near the beginning.
