Things Are Looking Worse for Michigan's

I've written a lot lately about the allegations that a low-level staffer with the Michigan Wolverines football team had the task of stealing the signals of rival teams in order to gain an advantage against them. We initially learned that the original allegations were that Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions spied on Big Ten teams, but the circle of teams that he reportedly sought to spy on continues to grow. Over the weekend, a former Division III coach came forward saying that Stalions paid him to spy on Michigan's opponents. The anonymous coach told ESPN that Stalions offered him money to video the signals from teams that played against the Wolverines.

With all the money floating around college football, I’m surprised we’re not seeing more of this. Tip of the iceberg?

Every football game from high school to the pros is recorded. What is there to steal? If Harbaugh paid for another team's playbook there might be a case. All this proves is there is way too much money in athletics. Harbaugh is a thug with the personality of a wolverine. But he wins and that's all that counts in today's world.

I don't understand how watching the signals being sent in is called "stolen". Coaches that send in plays use numbers or codes, if someone hears the same code for a previous run play and adjusts to this call is just using common sense. If the other team puts a man in motion should not a defender cross with him to cover him if playing man to man? Isn't this reacting to knowledge of a play, so the defense is "stealing" the play? If you are standing on 2nd base and the catcher signals "2" and you know it is a curve, haven't you stolen the signal and gotten an advantage to steal? All teams change there signals in this situation, I don't see how "stealing" signals is a big deal.

Bassam Eid is a brave man. A Palestinian activist who lives in the West Bank, he’s penned an op-ed in Newsweek that will surely drive anti-Israel leftists insane since it’s a) factual and b) goes against everything the liberal intelligentsia has spewed about the Jewish state for the past three weeks. There hasn’t been this much antisemitism spewed since Adolf Hitler’s political ascendancy in Germany. From college campuses to the streets nationwide, the calls for genocide against Jews have reached a fever pitch. College administrations and faculty are either too scared to push back on the hatred or endorse it wholesale,

"Israel is a country that has no place in our land," Hamas official Ghazi Hamad told the Middle East's LBC International news network on Tuesday. "We must remove that country." "It constitutes a security, military, and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nation and must be finished." Hamad added, completely unnecessarily after the attacks on Israeli civilians we all witnessed on the weekend of October 7, "We are not ashamed to say this, with full force." Selections from LBC's interview with Hamad were translated and posted by the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). I've been relying on their good work since shortly after 9/11/2001.

How do you remake a remake like "Snow White" before it's even been remade? Ask the super-geniuses in charge at Disney these days, because their nine-figure reboot of the 1937 classic just got another nine figures tacked on to the production cost — and a one-year delay arriving at your local multiplex. It seems that Disney has finally read the room and decided to ditch some of the worst elements of the movie that leaked earlier this year. Originally titled "So Not White, One Dwarf, and the Six Painfully Intersectional Magical Fairyland Hipsters," [Editor's note: it was not originally titled that at all.]

I was cruising around on Twitter and saw something that blew my mind: Hamas is refusing to let any of the 600 American citizens (and 400 Canadians, and who knows how many others from elsewhere) who were in Gaza at the time of the attacks to leave. Uh, wut? Why didn’t I know this before, and why hasn’t the media made a big deal of it? [Tweets] At issue are Americans who were in Gaza on 10/7, whom Hamas has refused to allow passage out of the country. The nugget was buried in a story about the suspension of flights out of Israel that had been facilitated by the State Department.

A Nevada man was arrested last week in connection to allegedly issuing ominous and antisemitic threats to a U.S. senator in the wake of Hamas’s bloody terror attack on Israel, according to a criminal complaint. ABC7 reported: John Anthony Miller, 43, allegedly began making the calls to the unnamed female senator on Oct. 11, four days after Israel’s war with Hamas began. […] While the senator is not named in the complaint, Sen. Jacky Rosen is Jewish, and Miller’s threats repeatedly seek to tie the lawmaker’s support for Israel to what he says is her Jewish background. Miller is accused of leaving a voicemail with Rosen’s office on October 17th, court documents said.

We've seen a lot of twisted reactions calling for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas, including protests like those in New York City, where people chanted in support of Hamas. Advertisement We saw an unbelievably awful response from the UN — that organization that's supposed to be about bringing people together — that showed again it's about anything but with a couple of its resolutions last week. The juxtaposition of the results of those resolutions was jarring. First, they failed to pass a resolution condemning the Hamas attack on Israel. So that couldn't get the two-thirds vote required to pass.

Lost in the swirl of events over the past three weeks, as well as the rapid pace of events in cases in multiple courts involving former President Trump, is the fact that he moved to dismiss the Washington D.C. case filed against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith based on a claim of “Presidential immunity” from criminal prosecution for acts while in office. On October 19, 2023, Smith filed an Opposition to that motion. Much like the motion itself, the Opposition escaped scrutiny as it came around the same time Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro pled guilty – to what I’m still not certain – in the Georgia case,

Now that Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) has been elected as the Speaker of the House, you know that Democrats are desperately trying to dig up any kind of dirt that they can find on him. Democrats target anyone who might stand in the way of their power, so you know it's a good sign that they're having such a meltdown over Johnson. But you know how hard up they must be with The Atlantic’s effort to attack Johnson. It’s pretty comical, truthfully. If this is all they can come up with, Democrats are going to spend a lot of time gnashing their teeth. What have they come up with?
