Developing: Jordan Expects Another Speaker
Vote, Seeks Meeting with 20 RINOs

Representative Jim Jordan has expressed his anticipation for another vote on the Speaker of the House position, according to new reports. This comes amidst growing political tensions and the call to expand the powers of Speaker Pro-Tempore Patrick McHenry in a bid to “get on with the business of the American people.” The Gateway Pundit reported earlier Thursday that Rep. Jim Jordan withdrew from the Speaker’s race today after 22 RINOs derailed his vote for Speaker of the US House of Representatives. Jordan was clearly the grassroots favorite, but the GOPe successfully blocked his attempt to lead the Republican Party.

It will be interesting to see, but RINOs aren't really interested in Republicans getting actual Republican stuff done. They want the Dems to get Dem stuff done, and that is how they generally vote. So, maybe something happens, but my bet is that this won't go anywhere. RINOs are really Dems, and they don't WANT a good Repubican in charge in the House. They LOVE blocking conservatives, because they hate us.

I haven't seen Mr Gaetz's name on any of these "I voted for somebody other than Jordan" lists. Yeah, he ran the coup that got rid of McCarthy. But then again, McCarthy didn't do himself too many favors in not getting his troops in line with the department authorization bills he promised. Not sure I agree with Gaetz' tactics, but hand it to him ... they worked. Now it's time that the GOP Congresscritters.get over their "my liddle fweelings was hurt" and support Jordan as speaker. I'm happy to see that my Congresscritter cast her votes for Jordan.

Why are the 20 automatically called RINOs just because they didn’t vote for Jim Jordan? Do we even know what their reasons are? It’s such a kindergarten-sandbox tactic! And the definition of RINO is a constantly moving target. Two weeks ago, some on this page were calling Jim Jordan a RINO — until President Trump endorsed him. And I’ve been following Lucianne long enough to remember when some on this page called Candidate Trump a RINO. There may have been a time when “RINO” actually meant something concrete, but these days it’s just a childish way to smear someone who doesn’t do, think, or say exactly what you want at any given moment.

Excellent post #9. And those who want R challengers to reps from New York and the purple states, do you really think you can get Mastriano and Dr. Oz types elected? Looks to me like our caucus is comprised largely of Rinos, no matter how ever-shifting the definition. And electability, especially in the swing states, is what counts if we're to retain a majority. Right now, thanks to Gaetz, I think that's doubtful.

I hope the 20 to 22 people who refused to vote for Jordan unearth a bit of integrity in their souls and vote finally to place him in the speakership. There are nearly two dozen fools who couldn’t care less about the House, let alone the country. If the Republicans have a good year in 2024 and achieve a strong majority it would be very useful to punish them all. Throw in Matt Gaetz and his idiotic sidekicks who followed him of the cliff.

Before Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson officially became Speaker of the House on Wednesday, there was the seven-person pre-game panel on CNN’s Inside Politics. One of those panelists, senior political analyst Gloria Borger, was forced to concede that despite being “hugely conservative,” Johnson is “not the devil incarnate.” Borger’s remarks as she recalled Reps. Jim Jordan and Tom Emmer’s failed bids, “I think he is a person who’s hard to demonize. You know, it's very easy to demonize somebody like a Jim Jordan, who’s a fire brand. He's out there and fighting and then Donald Trump can demonize an [Tom] Emmer because he didn't believe the election was rigged.”

House Resolution 771, titled “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists,” condemns Hamas for beginning an “unprovoked war on Israel” and accuses them of “slaughtering Israelis and abducting hostages in towns in southern Israel, including children and the elderly.” After the House elected Republican Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana’s 4th District as its speaker following a three-week deadlock over the position, the resolution was quickly brought to the floor

Democrats had an utter meltdown after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was unanimously elected by the Republican majority to lead the House of Representatives, the first Republican to be unanimously elected by his conference since 2011. According to an emailed statement posted to X by Punch Bowl News founder Jake Sherman, President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign strongly condemned the election of Johnson, despite Biden’s congratulations in an official statement from the White House. “MAGA Mike Johnson’s ascension to the speakership cements the extreme MAGA takeover of the House Republican Conference,” Ammar Moussa, a spokesman for the Biden campaign, said in a statement.

The narrow gag order imposed on Oct. 3 came after Trump made a social media post maligning the judge’s principal law clerk, who sits beside Engoron in court.

Newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) is a strong advocate of the House’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden for his involvement in the Biden family business. During a September House floor speech, Johnson eloquently articulated three reasons to justify the inquiry initially launched by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA): There are three irrefutable facts that have taken us to this point: Number one, President Biden lied directly to the American people. Number two, President Biden’s family and their associates profited millions through shell companies. Number three, President Biden’s federal agencies are stonewalling our legitimate congressional inquiry.

But what’s really bizarre is why the deficit exploded. According to the report, overall spending actually dropped by 2% compared with 2022 as the COVID-19 spending splurge abated. What drove up the deficit this year was a sudden and completely unexpected 9% drop in tax revenues. Not only did revenues come up hundreds of billions lower than last year, but they were well below what everybody expected them to be.
