Elon Musk’s company Space X has been sued by the Justice Department because the billionaire refused to hire asylum seekers and illegal immigrants.
“The lawsuit alleges that, from at least September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX routinely discouraged asylees and refugees from applying and refused to hire or consider them, because of their citizenship status, in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act,” the Justice Department said in a statement.DoJ says that Space X wrongly claimed in its advertisements and online postings that the company could only hire U.S. citizens and green card holders because

So now, immigration will be making raids on business to be sure they are hiring illegals?

It is illegal to hire illegal aliens. Federal law against it. This is going to be a VERY short lawsuit.
"Your honor is the Dept of InJustice taking action against my client, Space X for REFUSING to break the federal laws?"

The lede and the body are opposites. Wuzzup? Could this be journalistic malfeasance? Inquiring minds want to know.

This is outrageous and very unfair to all those border-crossing rocket scientists.

Too bad the number of rocket scientists is dwindling, especially in big blue cities. Chicago alone loses 20 or 30 every weekend.

ITAR regulations put an undue burden on private companies by first implementing ITAR requirements about hiring foreign nationals for any products that could be weaponized, and at the same time saying they cannot discriminate against foreign nationals. Rules that damn you if you do and damn you if you don't are unjust, and indicate an out of control bureaucracy.

What kind of nonsense is this? It wasn't too long ago that these same people were raiding businesses that had illegals working there.

I'm betting the number of illegals with useful skills for Space X is .....zero, other than the grounds maintenance crews....which would be illegal to hire.

I would think that companies which do what Space X does would require security clearances for employment. How does one who committed a felony be invading our border (seeking asylum - yeah right) get a security clearance?

I only have one thing to say. Note, the law says one can't hired illegals. SpaceX follows the law. Diaper Joe says, no, SpaceX is violating the law.
Two-Tier Just-Us system. In Diaper Joe's world, following the law is breaking the law. Only in the United Banana Republic of America.

Just shows where Biden and the leftist and socialist Democrat stand. Giving illegal aliens (migrants) American jobs is one of the best ways to encourage and invite more and more illegal aliens (migrants) to unlawfully enter the USA, that’s just common sense.

The DOJ needs to present all of the qualified illegals who didn’t get hired.

So, can I sue the DOJ for not hiring conservatives?
This is part of the amnesty puzzle. Look at us, immigrants, we love you while the conservatives hate you.

When is the government going to change its' own requirement of only allowing native-born US citizens to run for president, unless their name is Obama? Joe also falls so far out of that distinction that he could be Rosemary's Baby.

How is it that in the "land of the free," you cannot hire who you want for your own company?

It’s mind boggling that the weaponized Justice departments chose Musk, out of the million companies in the US for special prosecution. Their problem is that Musk exposed the Twitter files and now must pay. Sickening!!!! Merrick Garland must be impeached.

So does the Immigration and Nationality Act say they CAN hire illegal aliens or that they HAVE to hire illegal aliens?
On hiring foreign nationals, does Space X have on staff foreign nationals that do meet the security requirements? If so, that kind of shoots that argument out of the water - unless he has to have an employee from every nation on earth.

It should be noted that NASA requires anyone working on spacecraft or processing them have a security clearance, having a green card is not enough. It is nearly impossible for immigrants and asylum seekers to get clearance, because most fail background checks. Illegals fail because they committed a crime by the fact of their illegal entry.
The DoJ lawsuit defies common sense. Lockheed and other aerospace companies would be subject to such lawsuits.

My eternal hope: this is a big prank a bunch of subversive conservatives in the Justice Department decided play on the DOJ itself. A few renegades within the department decided to dial the rule-following up to eleven -- and out popped this DOJ idiocy. Follow all the rules to a T until the system breaks. Masterful. It's also possible the DOJ is sincere, but in their zealotry to destroy Musk, they tripped on their own shoelaces, their pants fell down and they fell head first into a toilet. (A government-mandated, low-flow, climate-friendly, equitably-designed, gender-neutral toilet, of course.) Whatever the reason, laugh at the Department of Justice for they are a clown show.
