College Professor Says American Flag Causes
Him ‘Anxiety’

A Marquette University professor said the American flag makes him “anxious” in a National Public Radio interview Wednesday. Philosophy Professor Grant Silva told an interviewer with WUWM, an NPR affiliate station in Milwaukee, that he feels “anxious” when he sees an American flag. In the interview, Silva described how “excessive imagery” of American flags is borderline “nationalism.” “I also get a little bit anxious around the excessive imagery of the flag in part because in my experience, patriotism quickly slips into nationalism,” Silva said. “Especially the simplistic version of patriotism, the flag-waving, my country love it or leave it kind of attitude. That is just a hop, skip and a jump away

So “nationalism” is automatically a negative thing? Certainly it CAN be negative if pushed too far, but so can internationalism. “America First” and “Make America Great Again” are just common sense.

The philosophy professor seems not to have considered the way the gender ideology flags do precisely to others what he claims causes him anxiety when patriotic Americans fly our nation's flag. I see the same "our country, love it or leave it" being shoved in my face every "pride month" (which, recall, began as "gay pride day" and spread to fill a whole month. And does anybody believe that it will stop there? It will be 24x7x365.25 before long; count on it.)

Tim Cook’s company enjoyed a 2.31 percent rise in share price Friday, catapulting it to this historic milestone.

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed Republicans are recruiting Muslims against transgender people in her Sunday episode of MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki.” Psaki claimed Republicans are using former President Richard Nixon’s “Southern Strategy” method by turning Muslim Americans against transgender people and, in turn, winning their vote. “Now, decades later, the right-wing is reviving that same playbook,” Psaki said. “This time, with Muslim Americans and trans people. Hear me out here, the GOP is trying to recruit Muslim Americans, a community that makes up less than two percent of the U.S. population against another tiny marginalized group of Americans — transgender people.”

Not an obscure one, either: About a year prior, Inoue gave the Chair’s Address at a prestigious writing studies research conference and declared, “White people can perpetuate white supremacy by being present.Your body perpetuates racism.”
