Will ANYONE show up to the first Republican
debate? Blockbuster GOP event faces chaos
as Trump threatens to skip, DeSantis says
he won't appear without his arrival and
candidates refuse to sign RNC loyalty pledge

The first GOP debate stage might not produce the dramatic scene originally expected as a growing number of candidates could opt to skip out – while others are struggling to meet the requirements to land on stage. With just two months to go, there are 15 candidates vying for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 – and only one-third of the field has met the requirements so far to debate in August. Longshot candidates remain at risk of not qualifying in time to reach the debate stage, while some of the frontrunners are threatening to boycott due to restrictions and rules set by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

All that qualify will show up. It's free publicity. The loyalty pledges are pretty much not worth the paper they are printed on anyways.

Everybody forgets that pretty much all the group that pledged to support the nominee NEVER kept it to (really) support Trump. I think Ben Carson was the only truthful one. A couple others endorsed at the end when it didn’t matter and NEVER openly enthusiastically really ever helped him.

#3 - that pretty much applied to many Republicans in congress as well. They never had his back except for stabbing purposes. Now, it could be said at least some of them were misled by accusations of Russiarussiarusssia, but perhaps a few derailed gravy trains played a role in their lack of support.

The only viable reason for the Republican party is President Trump. Without Trump, there is no Republican party. Trump might as well debate chimps as attempt to spar with the current line-up of consummate, despicable, loathsome, backbench democraps festooned in elephant hide...chumps.

Actually, #5, Donald Trump is not leading by a large percentage with the American voter at large. Winning the Republican primaries means nothing if he can't persuade the sacred independents to vote for him. Especially in the swing states he is not faring all that well against Biden. If he truly wants to win in 2024 Trump does need to put himself before the entire public. Not doing so is indicates fear, hubris or stupidity.

This what you get when you have a TOTAL incompetent in charge of the Republican National Committee. The donut eating, plastic surgery loving, hair streaking, private jet taking, queen rhino, should have been sent packing in the RNC last election. But, republicans are so incredibly stupid and spineless that they voted this useless Romney back in. What a total waste. With this chaos, an emergency vote needs to be taken and hopefully Lee Zeldin would run and win. HE and HE alone is the reason that Republicans took the House in 2022. He would know exactly how to handle the upcoming 2024 elections. Dump Ronna Romney NOW!

#11, It could also indicate that he is tired of debating not only his adversaries but the moderators too. Fox has never been fair to him and has been outright hostile in the past. Seriously, how many independents or democrats even watch debates this early in the race? This is a debate for political junkies and democrat operatives and both of those groups have already made their minds up most likely. Frankly, I have mixed feelings about the debate. If Trump is not perfect the media will declare his candidacy dead in the water and if he does well which he will do, they will ignore it. Another thought I have had regarding this is that Americans are sick of everyone piling on PDT and may take any hits below the belt by the candidates or especially by the media not very well. Who knows what will happen but I doubt it will be good for the Republican Party especially since the RNC is involved. No one trusts them because we know Ronna McDaniel and her crew have an agenda and it is to protect the status quo.

Meghan Kelly asked Trump about calling women fat and Chris Wallace challenged him to denounce white supremacy, essentially accusing the President of being a misogynist and a racist in front of the whole country. What will likely happen in any debate this election cycle is the same thing that happened in previous debates. Trump will end up debating the moderators.

Once again, the Pubbies come off as the gang who can't shoot straight. Whom do they think would want to join a party that is in constant total disarray and can't figure out a way to give the appearance of being united? Long ago the Dems mastered the strategy of never criticizing each other in public. They always stand shoulder to shoulder projecting strength rather than chaos and disorder. If they have dirty laundry, they air it behind closed doors. But, not us. Nope. We seem to prefer a public shooting of our own allies. Apparently we don't have the ability to step back and see the big picture. Trump absolutely positively needs support from independents and swing state voters in order to win. Why we can't appear united is beyond me. Sometimes the end really does justify the means. Just stop hacking on each other in public; that would be a good start.

Lawyers are questioning whether the Delaware attorney's office kicked their most experienced prosecutors off the Hunter Biden case – just before they filed minor charges against the president's son. Whistleblowers who ran the IRS criminal probe into Hunter for five years told Congress about their travails with veteran Delaware prosecutors Lesley Wolf, Shawn Weede, and Shannon Hanson. But in a letter to a federal judge last week announcing the charges against Hunter, Delaware US Attorney David Weiss listed three different prosecutors who have apparently had no previous involvement in the case – leading to questions of a last-minute overhaul by the Delaware DoJ.

Millions of Americans will attend parades, fireworks and other Independence Day events on Tuesday, celebrating the courage of the nation’s 18th century patriots who fought for independence from Great Britain and what they considered an unjust government. Those events also will honor the military and those who sacrificed in other conflicts that helped preserve the nation’s freedom over its 247-year history. That is only one version of a “patriot.” Today, the word and its variants have morphed beyond the original meaning. It has become infused in political rhetoric and school curriculums, with varying definitions, while being appropriated by white nationalist groups. Trying to define what a patriot is depends
