With all the chaos that has permeated the cultural arena over the last decade or so, it’s easy for conservatives to get discouraged. Things have truly gone off the rails, with a level of depravity that was once thought to be unthinkable becoming mainstream.
At the forefront of that has been the battle over transgender ideology. Children are being pumped full of puberty blockers, and in some cases, being physically mutilated by surgeries, all under the ridiculous guise of “transitioning.” Nothing is sacred for the far-left, not even the health and well-being of children. Yet, amidst all the darkness, there is hope peaking through.

During a portion of an interview with the Fox News Channel set to air on Monday’s broadcast of “Hannity,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) acknowledged that California “has not made progress in the last two decades” on homelessness, but he can’t in four years as Governor make up for the historic levels of homeless people that existed in 2005 under a Republican and the “dynamics” in California “are very different” than in a state like Florida, whose homeless population is a fraction of California’s, but stated that “we own” the problem.
DeSantis said, “This state has not made progress in the last two decades as it relates to homelessness.”

It's time for somebody else to take a spin.
Pat Sajak, who has hosted the syndicated game show "Wheel of Fortune" for more than 40 years, announced in a tweet Monday night that he plans to step down next year. "Well, the time has come. I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last," Sajak said. "It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months.
"Many thanks to you all." Sajak, 76, took the helm of "Wheel of Fortune" in 1981 alongside co-host Vanna White. The show is a mainstay of the primetime lineup on local television channels across the country,

New disclosures from Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop appear to show that President Biden’s troubled son and some of Hunter’s business associates were deeply involved in advocating for Ukrainian interests in the United States during the time that Mr. Biden served as vice president. Republicans say that this and other emails prove that the president was, in fact, involved in a bribery scheme as described by a federal whistleblower complaint.
One April 2014 email sent by the first son to his close friend and business partner, Devon Archer, included a detailed memo analyzing the political and economic landscape of Ukraine that the younger Mr. Biden called “thoughts after doing some research.”

The Tony Awards were held Sunday night and televised live on CBS and Paramount+. I did not watch the show but a tweet caught my eye. It had to do with an actress and a Ku Klux Klan reference to Governor Ron DeSantis.
Actress Denee Benton was on stage to present the Excellence in Theatre Education Award from Carnegie Mellow University. The 2023 recipient of the award is Jason Zembuch Young of South Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida. In her remarks leading up to the award presentation, Benton noted that she is a CMU alum and that she is from Florida.
Then she launched into a random attack on the governor

The Federal Trade Commission plans to file in federal court to prevent Microsoft and Activision-Blizzard from closing their $69 billion merger, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The filing, which is not yet public, will ask the US District Court for the Northern District of California for a temporary restraining order that could keep the companies from consummating the acquisition while the FTC’s in-house court is deliberating on the deal.
The FTC sued Microsoft in the agency’s administrative court in December, challenging the deal as anticompetitive. Microsoft didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
UK competition regulators have also challenged the deal,

Washington Post publisher and chief executive Fred Ryan is leaving the newspaper after nine years in charge to lead a newly formed Center on Public Civility at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, the newspaper said on Monday.
Ryan will be replaced on an interim basis by Patty Stonesifer, formerly chief executive of the Gates Foundation and a member of the Amazon board, newspaper owner and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said. Ryan will stay on for two more months, Bezos said in a memo to staff members.
The Post expanded during the Trump administration, in an aggressive transition into digital. Ryan, the former CEO and a founder of Politico,

JPMorgan Chase has reached an agreement to settle a lawsuit from victims of Jeffrey Epstein, the bank announced Monday.
The financial institution has yet to release details regarding the settlement agreement, which it described as an "agreement in principle." JPMorgan had been attempting to fend off the class action lawsuit for months.
"Settlement is in the best interests of all parties, especially the survivors who were the victims of Epstein’s terrible abuse," the bank and lawyers for the victims wrote in a joint statement. The statement did not reveal a settlement amount.

News of former President Donald Trump’s indictment by a Miami grand jury Thursday was stunning, if not entirely surprising. There had been indications leading up to the announcement that it was imminent. One would be hard-pressed to find people who don’t have an opinion regarding the former president, and the same holds true regarding the latest indictment.
According to a new ABC/Ipsos Poll, fielded June 9-10, 2023, nearly half of those surveyed believe Trump should have been indicted (regarding the classified document retention). The poll found 48 percent of the 910 respondents agree that Trump should have been charged with a crime in this case, while 35 percent

The Sunday London Times, out today, has a long, long article about the origins of the covid-19 virus in the lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Until the far-off day when Chinese sources open up honestly, it will stand as definitive proof of not just the lab leak hypothesis, but the conclusion that covid-19 was a human creation. Its conclusions are unqualified:
Scientists in Wuhan working alongside the Chinese military were combining the world’s most deadly coronaviruses to create a new mutant virus just as the pandemic began.
Investigators who scrutinised top-secret intercepted communications and scientific research believe Chinese scientists were running a covert project of dangerous experiments

Senate Republican leaders, including Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), are staying quiet about former President Trump’s indictment on 37 criminal charges, letting him twist in the wind and breaking with House Republican leaders who have rushed to Trump’s defense. McConnell, who is careful not to comment on Trump or even repeat his name in public, has said to his GOP colleagues that he wants his party to turn the page on the former president, whom he sees as a flawed general election candidate and a drag on Senate Republican candidates.
