SUNY Hunter College professor Shellyne Rodriguez surrendered to police Thursday morning after brandishing a machete at a New York Post reporter who came to her door seeking comment regarding a video in which she can be seen harassing pro-life students.
Rodriguez, 45, turned herself into the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx after footage emerged on Tuesday showing her holding a machete to the throat of Post reporter Reuven Fenton. She has been charged with menacing and harassment, an NYPD spokesman told National Review.
Fenton had visited Rodriguez’s apartment in the Bronx to ask her about a recent controversy on campus in which she destroyed a table display set up by pro-life students.

Footage is going viral showing police precincts across Chicago overflowing with illegal immigrants, with many having been transformed into makeshift shelters.
Personal items, luggage, and plastic bags litter the precincts as illegal immigrants carve out areas with bedding in the precincts, according to a report citing videographer Rebecca Brannon.
Brannon filmed the scenes on Sunday, and immigrants can be seen listening to music while children scurry around playing.
Numerous Chicago police stations are serving as makeshift shelters for migrants and are dealing with bed bugs, illnesses, food and basic healthcare shortages," she tweeted.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the vice chairman of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, compiled over the past several years and just released on Tuesday a several hundred page report detailing his investigative findings on the origins of the coronavirus pandemic.
The report, which is available on Rubio’s Senate website, is more than 240 pages long, with another more than 80 pages containing the hundreds of citations made throughout it. The effort is the product of years of research by Rubio, his staff, and outside experts who helped compile the comprehensive investigation into the matter.

President Biden is taking his case for tougher gun limits directly to the American public, writing in an op-ed that his power is limited and Congress must “do more.”
Mr. Biden, writing in USA Today, said last year’s bipartisan bill to expand background checks for young people and red flag laws that remove guns from those who are a danger to themselves or others was just a good start, and he is exploring executive action to rein in firearms.
“My power is not absolute. Congress must act, including by banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, requiring gun owners to securely store their firearms, requiring background checks for all gun sales, and repealing

As RedState previously reported, Rep. James Comer and other Republicans in both the House and Senate are currently in the midst of an investigation into an alleged bribery scheme involving the Biden family. Specifically, the FBI is in possession of a 1023 form that includes supposed evidence and witness testimony to that effect.
But while the FBI has not denied that they have the form, they have attempted to stonewall, claiming confidentiality concerns. Now, another roadblock has appeared. According to Comer, some witnesses have gone missing while others are in jail, and the FBI is refusing to assist in locating them.

US border agents apprehended a record-breaking 67,759 illegal migrants in the past week alone — including sex offenders and gang members — as well as a massive stash of fentanyl, officials said Friday.
Another 15,780 illegal migrants eluded capture, tweeted US Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz.
Among those caught were five sex-offenders, four gang members and two felons, authorities said. Agents also seized 56 pounds of fentanyl, 179 pounds of methamphetamine, 34 pounds of cocaine, five pounds of heroin and seven firearms.
Border officials have struggled to manage an overwhelming surge in illegal immigration after the expiration of the Title 42 public-health order, which allowed for expedited deportations during the coronavirus crisis.

People with normal brains look at pictures of cities like Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco — large blue outhouses that have been gutted by years of commie dominance — and wonder how their citizens can keep voting for Democrats who brought the carnage and blight to their doorsteps.
Not only do they repeat this pattern for most of their lives, they think you’re trash for not agreeing with them.
As a former New York City liberal, I have some insight as to how — and why — white leftists close their eyes to reality and continue to vote to turn their towns into garderobes. The commie pimp hand is strong and exercises complete

Well, ain’t that a kicker? Ready for the next pandemic?
The EcoHealth Alliance, the group that funded gain-of-function research that could well have led to the COVID-19 outbreak, just got a grant renewal from the National Institutes of Health to study coronavirus outbreaks. The very same grant that Trump got canceled for obvious reasons.
A great injustice, that was.
The Biden Administration has renewed it, and the EcoHealt Alliance is shouting from the rooftops how wonderful it is that they are back in the Coronavirus business.
No, I am not joking. I guess the destruction that COVID-19 and the government’s response wasn’t apocalyptic enough, so it’s time for round 2.

A gaggle of the usual suspects brought a bit of anarchy to the Upper East Side Saturday, hopping down to subway tracks to protest the demise of an afflicted fellow not one of them gave a damn about when he was alive.
But what makes the chokehold death of Jordan Neely — a sometimes-violent, regularly menacing subway presence with severe mental-health issues — stand out so much that it provokes progressive tantrums?
After all, as the estimable Nicole Gelinas detailed in these pages last week, 27 others have met violent ends in the subway system since 2020 without generating a ripple of interest among New York’s anarcho-activists.

Hollywood’s new diversity rules are making one actor sick.
Legendary actor Richard Dreyfuss condemned the inclusivity changes that will be implemented for next year’s Oscars, saying the new standards “make me vomit.”
“This is an art form. It’s also a form of commerce, and it makes money. But it’s an art,” Dreyfuss said on PBS’ “Firing Line with Margaret Hoover.” “And no one should be telling me as an artist that I have to give in to the latest, most current idea of what morality is.”[snip] Starting in 2024, a film has to meet certain diversity and inclusion standards in four different categories set out by the Academy

Selected residents of Palm Springs, California, only need to wait nine days before a guaranteed income program begins paying $800 every month.
The program, which is being run by nonprofit organizations Queer Works and DAP Health, selected 30 recipients earlier this year in March and will begin the 18-month pay schedule on May 15. The recipients of this program will be free to spend this monthly payment in any way they see fit, according to Queer Works.[snip] Additionally, applicants needed to be clients of either Queer Works and/or DAP Health and be considered primary residents of Palm Springs.

Something else for the cops to manage. Didn't anyone ever expect that a sanctuary city might actually have to deal with it?
