Has something finally intervened to change the 2024 calculus?
“Inertia” is an interesting word. It comes from the Latin iners, which means, first of all, “without skill,” “incompetent” (in, not + ars, art, skill). But it also means “sluggish,” “weak,” “inactive,” “motionless.” In common speech, “inertia” generally suggests something torpid, sleepy, without spunk or initiative. “Joe wanted to go to the race but was overcome by inertia and stayed home.”
But there is another, more potent sense of “inertia” in common usage. It is implicit in the definition Newton gives in his first law of motion.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse handed more than $2.2 million to the University of Pennsylvania for an "anti-vaping messages" project from July 2021 to April 2026 that aims to craft social media strategies "to reduce disparities in vaping" among "sexual and gender minority youth," according to funding documents reviewed by the Washington Examiner. "The federal government has known for years that these boneheaded campaigns are actually increasing the appeal and use of vaping among young audiences,"

A former worker at New York's Row Hotel has come forward to reveal the disgusting conditions migrants newly arrived in Manhattan are keeping their hotel rooms, which the city is footing the bill for.
Carlos Arellano, who no longer works for the once luxury hotel, has described the premises as a 'free for all' of drugs, sex and violence and should be shut down.
Almost all of the 1,300 rooms set across 28 floors of the hotel have been turned over to host migrants, with the city paying $500-a-night for the migrants to be housed.

Jason Trennert, CEO of Strategist Securities LLC and leader of the Poppy Project, spoke with Breitbart News about his efforts to bring the practice of wearing poppies to Wall Street, a forgotten practice meant to show respect to the veterans who have served this country.
Although wearing poppies to honor fallen service members is more prominent in other countries like Canada or the United Kingdom, its roots date back to the United States shortly after World War One, Trennert told Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle.
