In a joint press conference with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday, General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, attempted to deescalate when asked if Russia’s downing of a U.S. drone was an act of war.
Both Austin and Milley committed to continue flying and operating wherever international law allows, calling upon Russian leaders to operate their military aircraft in a safe, professional, and nonaggressive manner.
The incident Tuesday involved a Russian Su-27 aircraft striking the propeller of a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone, which U.S. officials said was on a routine mission in international airspace when two Russian jets attempted to intercept it. The unmanned drone was diverted

Downing an unmanned aerial vehicle costing millions is in no way comparable to supplying billions in weapons that are killing thousands of Russians. Anyone who says otherwise is insane.

Russia hasn't called your blowing up their pipeline an act of war, or have they? The Biden administration doesn't allow Russian media broadcasts, so their side of the story is censored.

Intentional intercept and aggressive behavior? Sure, but this was an accident. If the Russians wanted to bring it down they could have easily shot it. Instead, the pilot decides to bump the prop with his own craft? That's not how jet jocks do it.

Even if they intentionally targeted and shot it down I wouldn't go to war with anyone over an unmanned drone. Anyone pushing for ww3 over a drone is barking mad and needs to be locked up for their own and everyone else's safety.

How did such a weakling become a general? If not a weakling then a huge political hack. It is hard to call a general a weakling but over the years it seems the shoe fits.

Russian General: "Sir, you were right, we attacked their drone and Biden did nothing."
Putin: "He is such a wimp. Get China on the phone and tell them it is their turn to humiliate the Americans."

From what I gather, the Russian pilot was doing multiple passes dumping fuel to screw up the link back to the Mission Control Element. He was approaching the UAV from behind and above, slowing down and descending, and accidentally clipped the prop. Dangerous for the Su-27, too; he coulda sucked up a broken piece of the UAV into his engine and lost his own jet.
Unintentional, but still very dangerous. Similar to the EP-3 that the Chinese Air Force forced down in April 2001 near Hainan Island.

Why hasn't Miley been tried for treason based on his collusion and sharing secrets with our enemy, Communist China, convicted, stripped of his military rank, pension, and sentenced to be hanged? Same thing with that affirmative action lump of dung Lloyd. When we restore our Republic the above needs to happen very swiftly as a warning to the rest of the communist death democrats that their crimes against our Country will not be tolerated and true Justice will be served.

I wonder. If some foreign power drops a nuclear bomb on New York, will Gen. Miley’s response be “incidents happen.” Considering the shameful withdrawal from Afghanistan that Gen. Milley presided over, I would not be surprised.

How in the world did some America-hating ROTC asshat from Princeton ever become Chairman of the Joint Chiefs? Princeton and any other Ivy league school graduate should be automatically barred from serving as a Flag Officer altogether. Should also include Stanford, Northwestern and U of Chicago. Having an "Affirmative Action" General and appointee as Secy of Defense doesn't help either. America's Military is in severe state of decline, look no further than the Commandant of the Marine Corps"Pink Panties" Berger, the Air Force Academy requires CRT Training for all cadets thanks to Lt Gen Clark, damn his soul to hell!

An act of war? Like arming their enemies and blowing up their pipeline? I hate to even consider it, but a lot of good Americans are going to die over these warhawks obsessions, and the gains to our country will be zero. Kind of like the last 70 years.

I’m shocked he isn’t taking us to nuclear war.
I can hear bidet: we’re at war with Russia. The nukes are incoming. I’ll be in my bunker the basement of all basements. Not a joke! Don’t jump! You ain’t black if you didn’t vote for me! You’re carbonized if you did! True story!

An act of war? You mean like the US giving Ukraine arms, money and “personnel?” General, you are lucky that’s ALL the Russians have done so far.

As far as I am concerned, Milley should be in front of a military tribunal facing treason charges.
Nice way to get MORE of our technology into enemy hands.

Dumping fuel on a drone and then clipping the propeller is not an accident. It's a deliberate act.

Why should Milley be concerned with one drone lost or two Americans murdered in Mexico when over 300 Americans die each day from fentanyl poisoning?
How high does the overdose death count have to go to get Congress and the Executive branch to do something about it?
Every one of the OD deaths are a feather in the CCP cap and cause Xi to be pleased. His "American" subjects who he bought and pay for are very successful in carrying out his wishes.

Remember the USA has not won a war since 1945 when the Second World War came to an end with an allied victory across the board. During the Second World War the US and Allied Supreme Commander in the European theater against the Nazis was General Dwight Eisenhower. When you look at Eisenhower’s military uniform when he was a five star General after that war you will see that he wore only two or three rows of ribbons on his uniform. Now check out General Milley’s uniform and you will see about ten rows of ribbons and all sorts of badges, but Milley or the other generals on active duty today never won a war!
