Some of Burt's best songs were performed by lesser artists - - like "Any Day Now" and "Always Something There To Remind Me." Those songs don't get cited often - - but they were among his (and Hal David's) very best.

I feel blessed that at a young and vulnerable age my heart was lifted by many of his songs, while others engendered sad and wistful feelings. Thanks to Hal David the lyrics were inseparable.. I was tickled to see his cameo in the Austin Powers movie and in an episode of The Nanny. So much younger than his years.

Those were all great songs that I weIl remember. Problem was, I became a teenager toward the end of the rebellious sixties and had no time for pop. It was rock and roll or nothing. However, I did admire him immensely for one thing and one thing only: Angie Dickinson

I was 12 when I heard “Walk on By” by Dionne Warwick and I thought it was the greatest song I ever heard next to “ I Get Around” by The Beach Boys. Afterwards I collected Bacharach and Warwick albums like my friends did Beatles and Stones albums. Generally Bacharach’s songs were melodic, masterly and unforgettable and Hal David wrote lyrics which were equal to the music. Plus, Bacharach was extremely handsome, reserved and gentlemanly while Hal David once described himself as looking like every other lyricist - a dentist. Farewell, old friend. You did a lot of good, brought fun and joy to people and were much loved.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? I was introduced to and fell in love with Burt Bacharach in college, when I took a babysitting job on weekends, not far from the campus. The couple had an adorable little girl, and Burt Bacharach albums. I was smitten. So many artists have sung his songs, although IMO Dionne Warwick was the voice of Bacharach. "The Look of Love" has to be one of the most beautiful of his songs. I love Diana Krall's version of it (video in the article), and "Walk on By." Bacharach is timeless. His melodies are so "singable". Who doesn't want to sing them? They are unforgettable.

Burt, Dionne and Glen - what could be better? Thank You Lord for the musical gift Burt Bacharach was to us. Rest In Peace, sir.

The Milley boys at the Pentagon have come up with a new public relations "save" for Joe Biden and his pathetic indecisiveness about a China spy balloon brazenly traversing the continental United States until it was shot down over the Atlantic yesterday. According to the Pentagon's website, defense.gov: The balloon did not pose a military or physical threat. Still its intrusion into American airspace over several days was an unacceptable violation of U.S. sovereignty. The official said Chinese balloons briefly transited the continental United States at least three times during the prior administration. Predictably, the left has seized on that last line and had a field day:

Joe Biden has been hit by crisis after crisis as a result of his own bad decisions, and oddly enough, they are starting to look alike. Take the latest China balloon incursion, where some kind of spying device has been sent over military installations throughout the U.S. interior, with Biden doing nothing about it. That's a sovereign violation that ought to be drawing a major response to an arrogant, expanding wannabe superpower desperate to flex is military muscles, yet Joe's response, that shooting the invading device down might create debris or hit a populated area (America is loaded with unpopulated ones the balloon is traversing) is simply pathetic.

As if the cost alone weren't enough to make the millions of illegal migrants brought in by Joe Biden's open borders unpopular here, the ingratitude and entitlement mentality of these illegals now seals the deal. According to National Review: More than 50 migrants camped outside the Watson Hotel in Manhattan in protest on Sunday night as the city sought to move the single male migrants to a new shelter at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal to make space for migrant families. The new shelter holds as many as 1,000 single adult men and provides the same services the migrants had been receiving, city officials told the New York Post.

A certain amount of foofaraw came about when FBI bigshots Peter Strzok and Lisa Page drew headlines for their Trump-hating text-messages while in the throes of an extramarital affair. And rightly, most of the attention went to the pair's illegal use of government property and underhanded Borgia-style machinations against the incoming U.S. president. But their openly out there extramarital affair is worth noting, too. Under FBI regulations, adulterous affairs are a firing offense, given that such behavior puts national security at risk and automatically leads to the loss of one's security clearance. It makes sense that someone who can't keep a personal vow probably wouldn't be inclined to remain loyal to his country,
