New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) launched the Live Free or Die committee this week, marking a significant step toward laying the foundation for a White House bid in 2024. Named after New Hampshire’s motto, Sununu’s Live Free or Die Committee is a 501(c)(4) organization that allows him to raise unlimited funds as he gauges interest from donors. Politicians like Sununu surround themselves with sycophantic supporters, whose goal is to feather their own nest with patronage positions and fundraising types, whose goal is also to feather their own nests, but with campaign cash. They never associate themselves with people from outside this bubble, so they eventually come to believe the flattery and puffery with which they have been bombarded. They actually come to believe that they are potential winners of the big prize of American politics, the presidency. Our history books are filled with such types, all appearing under the title of "Loser" or "Also ran." The closest historical antecedent to this phenomenon would be Hitler in the bunker, surrounded by sycophants affirming his belief that the German people were going to throw back the Russian invaders. It was not until near the end that someone had the courage or temerity to tell Hitler that Steiner's division no longer existed and was not going to come to his rescue. Eventually, even the most thoroughly delusional politician recognizes that he has reached the end of his delusion.

One would think that GOP elites would be focused on election reform in 2023 rather than announcing runs for president. Unfortunately, the re-election of Romney’s niece as head of RNC after she underperformed in the last 3 elections shows that most Repubs really don’t care about winning. Instead they prefer self-promotion for future books, speaker fees, a contract with Fox News and if the difficult happens, a cabinet position within a Trump or DeSantis administration. But most of all, these dubious candidates want to undermine Trump and DeSantis in order to re-elect Biden in 2024. Or, better a RINO who loses than a Trump or DeSantis who can win.

During President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, he called for a ban on so-called “assault weapons” in the United States. This issue has been brought up by his administration multiple times since he took office. In Biden’s remarks, he praised a 26-year-old man named Brandon Tsay who disarmed a gunman last month in a shooting in Monterey Park. Tsay was working at a dance social at Lai Lai Ballroom & Studio when he came face-to-face with the gunman, who had already killed people at another ballroom in the area. “Two weeks ago, during Lunar New Year celebrations, he [Tsay] heard the studio’s front door close

I’m not the only one that was aghast at how poorly Joe Biden delivered what could be one of his last State of the Union addresses. It formed the foundation for his 2024 pitch, so we can expect more of the same in the coming months before we’re deep into presidential election season. The problem for Democrats is that he was barely cogent. It was evident the president couldn’t read or follow most of the State of the Union address. Some of the lines had clear mental misfires riddled into the delivery, like Joe’s quip about asking Chief Justice John Roberts for a restraining order against his wife, Jill,

First, I believe that it is going to be impossible to legislate or litigate abortion out of existence. I think that requires a change of heart on the part of abortion proponents. And I’m not holding my breath. Second, I knew that the Left would never take no for an answer on the matter. I was not surprised by the protests, the guerrilla warfare tactics of attacking pro-life centers, or the efforts to find workarounds to get women to states that offered abortions.
