Three years after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing masks in public. I try not to judge people when I see someone wearing a mask; after all, the person may have a legitimate need to wear a mask.
But what I’ve noticed is that there seem to be a lot of healthy younger people — teenagers and people in their early 20s — who wear masks often, and I have a difficult time understanding it.
I’ve had a theory about this phenomenon for some time. I think some people like to keep masking because it makes them feel anonymous. I’m convinced that some people

The ones I see still wearing masks are the older generation. Older Black people almost always still wear masks in stores around here. I suspect that, since they were ordered to wear masks they will wear them until they are ordered not to.

We also see individuals who are alone in their vehicles wearing the stupid things

Re #2: We see a few of these, but when we're waiting at a red light, a fearful masked driver gets pointed at and laughed about. The other drivers can have an easy guffaw at an idiot's expense. Soon, people who wear masks inside retail establishments will be regarded as they were before 2020: armed robbers. Enough is enough. Enough disruption of society.

One will terminate masks when one’s doctors and nurses do, not until then.

I live in Idaho now, where I see the occasional mask. But just came back from a trip to California to visit friends and family, still quite a few masked there, including people alone in cars, or out walking alone, and many of them look to be in their 20s, crazy. And of course my doctors office here in ID as well (part of St Luke’s). Makes me question whether I get real medical advice, or just directions to follow The Narrative. No masks required in my dermatologist’s office, but they’re still independent, have been assimilated (yet).

Had a doctor appointment with my cardiologist last week.
Masks were not required.
Some people were still wearing masks though.
I can see people taking extra precautions if they themselves are very ill or are living with someone that is very ill.
Beyond that, it becomes paranoia.

People who wear masks do so to keep the remaining brain cells they have from running out their nose.

The primary cause of mask-wearing is susceptibility to liberal fearmongering.

If you think about it, the doctor's waiting room is probably a good place for a mask. Who knows what kind of diseases these other people have.
Only other reason for one is if you are as ugly as Maxine Waters or Lori (with an i ) Lightweight.

No, just less intelligent. Except for our golden teens who try to hide their faces while shooting, shoplifting and smashing jewelry cases.

I'm seeing fewer masks. Today at church there were 5. 1 elderly woman, 1 young woman, a middle age couple and 1 woman who used to wear 3 but is now down to one.

They are just more easily brainwashed into thinking a two-dollar mask "protects" them. And, yes, mask-wearing conceals their lefty insecurities.

I work at a facility located on a college campus. All the people the should be at threat by COVID (older ) quit wearing masks. All the young people either co-oping at work or around campus still wear masks. The youth have been so conditioned to be afraid of life.

it took 20 posts before we got to, what I believe is, the case - Virtue Signaling. There are just too many masks on too many people to think they have a health problem. They're just better than the rest of us and they'll wear them until the Supreme Court says the pandemic is over.

I used to be critical of mask wearers, but I get it. People are afraid; there's a lot going on out here. Most of them can't point to where it's all coming from, but they know something isn't right.
I have asthma, but I'm blessed to not catch colds or have the flu very often. Sometimes I'll try to wear a mask outside my home because/when I'm more susceptible to catching colds/flu. Know what it does for me? I can't breathe!

It’s not necessarily a bad idea if you live in a place like Northern Virginia where you constantly come into contact with people who frequently travel back and forth to third world countries. I don’t want their diseases. I work with people from India who all have relatives with TB- I don’t want to expose myself and my family to that. The government is not protecting me so I need to protect myself. I was stationed in Japan where people have masked up in public for years. It seemed like a good idea.

There are a few....although ALL the workers in the Home Depot I shopped in this AM were wearing them. Must be the idiot boss. Another Home Depot that I was in a few days before had none.
One of the clerks in the pharmacy where I picked up some eye drops today had a mask....but the other ten people back there had none. Seems like a lot of oriental folks still wearing masks....some cultural thing, I guess. I think you have to be a bit of a frightened rabbit, unless you have some legitimate immune system issue. A close relative is undergoing some chemo, is immuned suppressed and never wears a mask. She just isn't that type.

Re 26.
Many people in Asian countries wear masks because of all the pollution. They are used to wearing them. Have been wearing masks for over a decade? Maybe regional. Wonder how many Asians here in the USA recently migrated from Asia, visited Asia, or still have relatives in Asia.

#1, when the “vaccine” first came out, people like Commie-la called it “the Trump vaccine” and warned people not to take it. A lot of blacks took that to heart, never got the jabs and that’s why they still wear masks.
