Tiger Woods Should Be Ashamed of Himself

Everyone is mad at Tiger Woods. No, he didn’t cheat on his wife and the mother of his children with multiple women this time. Nor did he drive his car across two lanes of traffic before crashing it. He didn’t even tick everyone off by underperforming during the first round of the Genesis Invitational on Friday, his first official PGA Tour event in over seven months. No, Tiger did something far worse: he made a joke — a joke that offended the ruling class. ABC News covered the prank that sent the pink p*ssy hats into a tizzy: "It started when [Woods] ripped a 323-yard drive, some 10 yards longer than

Pros play jokes on their good friends. Justin Thomas will have his revenge on Tiger Woods at a time and place of his choosing. Absolutely, Tiger brought out that prop (tampon) hoping he would have a chance to use it. When he got the chance, he did. Two can play at that game, though, and I'll be interested to see what Justin comes up with in response. All the people with their hair on fire over this are just going to be bald.

Thank you, #1, for injecting some sanity into this phony tempest in a teapot. One of the biggest problems we have today is that no one is allowed to poke fun at another. This wasn’t mean, it was two guys playing golf and needling each other. The leftists won’t be happy until we are all as dour, sour, and unhappy as they are. To hell with them.

A long time ago Arnold Palmer was in the habit of getting up in the middle of the night, going to the refrigerator, and drinking a Coca-Cola. His brother pros learned of Arnie's habit, and decided to barricade his door with several pieces of furniture. At the proper hour the King got out of bed, and when he encountered resistance trying to open his door, he just applied some more muscle and forced it open. (His nickname was the Bull because he was so strong.) Undeterred, he then proceeded to the fridge and drank his Coke. The next morning he asked what his professional golfer roommates were doing last night. "Helluva racket in there," he said.

#12 is correct on the Justin Thomas "bundle of sticks" remark, which was self-directed. I know exactly how Justin feels. At least Justin didn't react to the foozled putt the way old timers Ivan Gantz or Lefty Stackhouse, legendary for their tempers, did. Gantz was known for punishing himself by taking a rock or a stick and hitting himself in the head or face with it after a bad shot, or bellyflopping into a bunker after a missed shot. If a spectator saw Gantz walking along the fairway bleeding from the nose or cheekbone, the proper surmise was that he wasn't having a very good day. Just leave him alone. Stackhouse was even more classic, sometimes breaking entire sets of golf clubs at one time. After shooting 80 in a tournament, Stackhouse detoured into a rose bush before signing his card and thrashed around in there for a minute, emerging looking as if he had fought a dozen cats in a phone booth. In his early career future 1965 PGA champion Dave Marr saw Stackhouse knock himself out after missing a short putt. Lefty saw the ball rim out of the hole and it infuriated him, so he hit himself in the chin with his left fist. The blow was as hard as he could swing at himself, and it stunned him. His knees started buckling. Totally unforgiving of himself, he hit himself again in the chin, this time with the right fist, and knocked himself out. Marr was impressed. "Joe Louis couldn't have done that. He'd have pulled his punch." Rest in peace Lefty and Ivan. I know how you feel. So do many professional golfers who encounter frustration in this frustrating sport. Been there myself, but never knocked myself out. Wanted to, though, because I deserved it. It was my just desert.

Nothing about golf, but a funny story from my military days was the time the guys at NCO Academy short-sheeted my bed and I did not notice. (I had a private room to myself, but door had to be unlocked during the day for inspection.) Next day, they kept waiting for my reaction, but I had none. Finally, they asked if I slept well. Then at last, they admitted that after inspection the day before, they had short-sheeted my bed. But the joke was on them because they did not allow for the fact that I was a short female. Good laughs all around.

I can't resist one more vignette from professional golf history, involving Arnie and Dave Marr, who were paired together in the final round of the 1964 Masters. Palmer was on his way to his most dominant major championship victory (of seven in his career) and his fourth Masters green jacket, leading by eight strokes while standing in the fairway of the 72nd hole. Feeling magnanimous, Arnold asked his buddy Marr if there was anything he could do for him. With a wicked grin, Marr said, "Yeah. Make a 12." Arnold made 4 and won by eight.

When I returned to my native Arizona, things weren’t as red as they were when I’d left it, but they hadn’t descended into purplish/blue madness. My how quickly times can change. Nine months after I returned, Kyrsten Sinema was elected to the Senate. Arizona hadn’t had a Democrat there in over 20 years. That was an adjustment. The Biden administration announced late Tuesday that it would reverse a Trump-era land swap deal facilitating the construction, in an Alaska wilderness area, of a potentially life-saving road opposed by environmental groups. The Department of the Interior (DOI) withdrew the land exchange — which had been finalized by former Interior Secretary David Bernhardt in 2019 and aggressively defended in court by the Biden administration — and explained that it contained procedural flaws and wasn't consistent with agency policy. DOI Secretary Deb Haaland said the agency would initiate another environmental analysis of the proposal as part of President Biden’s conservation agenda. There are striking parallels -- and contrasts -- between Jimmy Carter’s leadership during the 1970s Oil Crisis and Joe Biden’s initiatives during the current “Climate” Crisis. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) instigated the 1973 crisis in U.S. gasoline prices that sparked inflation, and Jimmy Carter responded by supporting conservation and alternative energy plans (as well as a shift to “plentiful coal”). In contrast, Joe Biden seeded current fuel price inflation with wasteful overspending and attacks on oil production, and embraces yet more inefficient spending on renewable manufacturing projects that accelerate pollution and increase American vulnerability to China and Russia.

What’s worse, physical evil from an open enemy, or clandestine evil from a supposed friend? One need look no further than to Islam and the so-called “Left” — in this case, in the guise of the K-through-college education system — to appreciate the distinction. First, consider the Islamic institution of slave-soldiery. For many centuries in those southeastern European regions that were subjugated by Islam, especially in the Balkans, the Turks compelled Christian families to make an annual blood tribute of their own sons. The Muslims would select the strongest, healthiest, and most talented young European boys and then march them off to the Ottoman heartland. There, the youths would be forcibly converted

There are few bigger cultural issues being fought over right now than the medical transition of children under the guise of so-called “gender-affirming care.” The mainstream of the Democratic Party has now decided that chopping the breasts off young girls and chemically castrating young boys is not just a right, but a moral necessity. Unfortunately, as RedState reported on Sunday, there are some (ostensibly) on the right who would rather make overwrought philosophical arguments than actually face this harmful scourage head-on. But if anyone doubts how serious the situation is, here’s the President of the United States arguing that it’s “sinful” to not mutilate children suffering from gender delusions.
