WASHINGTON— The U.S. military on Saturday shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the Carolina coast after it traversed sensitive military sites across North America. China insisted the flyover was an accident involving a civilian aircraft and threatened repercussions.
President Joe Biden issued the order but had wanted the balloon downed even earlier, on Wednesday. He was advised that the best time for the operation would be when it was over water, U.S. officials said.(Snip) ..(Video) China responded that it reserved the right to “take further actions” and criticized the U.S. for “an obvious overreaction and a serious violation of international practice.”

FTA: Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was more positive: “Thank you to the men and women of the United States military who were responsible for completing the mission to shoot down the Chinese surveillance balloon. The Biden Administration did the right thing in bringing it down.”
Old Lindsey is in bidet's pocket he'd never critize the moron in chief. SC must be so proud.

Interesting. One possibility is that they deliberately sent the balloon to provoke an attack on it, and then use that as a pretext for shooting down one of our surveillance planes or possibly even a satellite. They're obviously spoiling for a fight. On their terms.

Sounds like the CCP is doing FJB a favor by feigning anger; let them get all the info they need, FJB shoots it down afterwards, and Zi stomps his feet. Joe puts on his aviators and leather jacket and struts around like top gun. Sounds all to contrived to me.

I don't believe for one minute that Biden gave the order to shoot it down on Wednesday and I hope someone from the Pentagon throws him under the bus for it. The Pentagon brass should be fired with loss of pension. Biden and the Pentagon completely failed in their duty!

None of this passes the smell test. From start to finish everything about it has seemed phoney, beginning with the fact that a balloon ended up in our airspace without being immediately shot down. There has to be far more to this than we are being told. It probably involves Biden and international organized crime.
And really, what are the Chinese going to do? Withhold bribes? Recall their spies in our colleges and laboratories? Oh the horror.

Will they now shoot down our satellites and surveillance balloons? I read that above 60,000 feet is Internationally considered to outer space, and there is no sovereignty issue. If this balloon dropped below that level ( reportedly to 19,000 ft above the Montana installations) then fine. It was reported to be at 65,000 ft when it was shot down. We've got these things and satellites all over the place.
Several wrong decisions made at the wrong times. This is dangerous and serious.

There is a lot we don't know. It might be a spy satellite or it might be a weapon. It might be a probe to let the Chinese know how we would react to some future weapon. All of the headlines say spy satellite but the article says SUSPECTED spy balloon. . Once they get out of radio range there is no way to control them and there might have been an equipment failure. It's even possible that the battery system failed completely so that the thing wasn't doing anything at all except floating. The US defense system might have even figured that out, in which case it would be entirely appropriate for them to keep the whole thing a secret. But then when it sank to a visible altitude, politics took over.

So....our worthless govt, led by Boy Dementia, spots the balloon before it reaches the continental US, allows it to fly over the entire country while NOT knowing what was contained, then shoots it down with a damn missile over the Atlantic, creating a 7 mile debris field ? Can our govt be any more inept ? Or is it corrupt ? We will NEVER be told the truth as to what was on the balloon.

The Chinese have the nerve to threaten us after they spied on because of the idiots in the White House allowed it. It's only becasue the newspapers told us about the balloon were they forced to do something. Biden's clan has ties to China that we need to investigate NOW before this gets uglier.

So, is it China really saying this, or just the Democrat Propaganda media saying they said it?
If XI is really saying this, then they are part of the scam. Because you see, the balloon that was shot down was not Chinese, but an Ex-Google Project Loon balloon that was under contract to the U.S. Department of Defense.
I know that 99.8% of you won't believe me, but I followed it on my own ADS-B tracking system when it passed near my location, and then on the flight tracking websites for the next two days, until it disappeared after being shot down.

Xi is thoroughly angry that the Bidiot shot down his balloon, even after it had collected all of its data, and was operating illegally in American airspace. Mission accomplished. Next, will Xi hold a hula hoop, and ask Stupid Joe to jump through? Joe will jump. He knows who his bosses are. (Obama and America's enemies)
