The foreign-born population grew across all 50 states and Washington, DC, this year, a result of the nation’s decades-long legal immigration levels, the latest United States Census Bureau figures show.
While the foreign-born population grew nationwide, California, Florida, and Texas saw the highest gains. California, which lost overall residents this year, added nearly 128,000 immigrants to its population.
Florida, the fastest-growing state in the nation, added more than 125,600 immigrants to its population, while Texas added almost 119,000 immigrants this year.

Where I work, Hispanics and Indians are becoming the majority. This is in a technical setting. That says something.

My town is growing and we have a lot of foreign born people here. We have a large community of Bosnians who have been here for years and now we have a lot from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Burma.
So far, things have been good and I hope they remain so.

1968 - Young people of child-bearing age were alarmed by "The Population Bomb" and the intense end-of-the-world media coverage.
1973 - Abortion became legal and the same people rejoiced that they could prevent the catastrophe by having abortions.
Those who could not read and had no media (i.e. third world) just kept on reproducing.

Have to say I do not believe CA lost overall residents. If it did, why do I see massive apartment complexes going up everywhere, not to mention an ever-growing homeless population?

Look at it this way and you will know what is going on. Biden, the leftist Democrats, some “cheap labor” and “UniParty” establishment Republicans, and of course the RINOS, by their ineffective actions, will covertly continue to encourage and invite the foreign born, especially poor and uneducated people from the third world who fit within the minority categories of Democrat identity politics, to enter the USA both illegally and legally, and that will continue until both the electoral and population demographics of enough of the country change to the point that the country has transformed into a minority-majority country that Biden and the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats believe will put a vast coalition of minority groups decide the future politics of the country, and will greatly favor the Democrats and their leftist political agenda to where the country in essence becomes a one political party place run by the different factions of Democrats. That’s why Biden and many Democrats campaigned all along for their “open borders” and “catch and release” initiatives before the 2020 election that have now caused the US Government to loose control of the borderline with Mexico. While that has been allowed to go on, Biden is clearly as pleased as punch, publicly ignoring that very serious situation and is on another vacation at St. Croix, Virgin Islands. As for the wimpy Republicans, they don’t appear to have a clue!

#8, the homeless are not counted in any census. Their actual numbers would be estimates and no doubt low-balled to mask the problem like the illegal alien numbers are. If they are building new apartments, it will be federal i.e. US taxpayer-funded homes for the homeless. Also, the homeless do not pay taxes so California's tax base is shrinking.

As a foreign born citizen...I think it's wonderful that so many people have embraced our country and become American citizens...if however... you did it illegally I believe you will never have citizenship and you will go to your grave as a man/woman without a country...

Recently we heard from our former CA (Bay Area) neighbor. Crime is up along with the price of homes. Can't figure that one out. Why with high crime, would someone pay an outrageous amount of money to buy a house there? Yes, the weather is good, but you can't enjoy the weather, if you're being mugged or having your car stolen...or someone is using your front lawn for a toilet.

In other news... the pope is still catholic, bears poop in the woods, and the foreign-born population mostly speaks Spanish. As a side benefit the democrat voter rolls grew across all 50 states as well, with hardly any impact on republican or other voter registration parties.
