Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, a Republican senator who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump and was up for reelection, beat challenger Kelly Tshibaka to secure her fourth full Senate term.
Murkowski is considered to be one of the more centrist Republican voices in Congress, and her win could help President Joe Biden pass his agenda as well as extend her clout in the closely divided Senate.
Neither Murkowski nor Tshibaka, the top two candidates in the four-person race, reached the 50% threshold needed for an outright win, which meant the winner was decided by ranked-choice tabulation that was announced on Wednesday.

I don't believe it either. Under normal circumstances, at least some of Palin's count would support Tshibaka as a second choice - if you like, voting against Murkowski.
The result is not believable.

Well, she didn't exactly *win* the seat. She slithered her way in like a snake sliding back into the swamp.

I genuinely hate the Republican leadership, all of them. Greedy, gutless elites every one. They are just Democrat enablers, just as responsible for everything that is wrong. They would rather sit in the minority and rake in the graft, get their spouses cushy jobs, and make money off insider trading than represent their people. And the only way they are ousted is if God finally takes them out of this world as elections are meaningless in this country and voters are so stupid they think voting for the same things over and over again will net different results. And then their daughter or son or brother just takes their place.

Mitch McConnell is very very happy tonight. With out Mitch's support for the Democrat, this would have never happened.

Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell is probably elated knowing that another RINO has been re-elected. Chuck Schumer keeps MultiUseless on a short leash at all times until it's time to fetch votes FOR the Biden Agenda.

Rank Choice Voting? Isn't that illegally voting more than once?

Well of COURSE she did. Her opponent claimed Rank Choice voting was promoted by Murkowski supporters in Alaska. And if what she said is true, it was done with the intent of a Murkowski win. This overly complicated method of voting is being tested all across the country, in red and blue states and seems to benefit incumbents.
IMHO, interested parties could not affect or eliminate the Electoral College so, they are changing every aspect of voting leading up to the Electoral College. If they get their way, in the end, the Electoral College will not matter.
By the way, all this talk that republicans must learn how to harvest ballots, vote early etc. (like the democrats) is pointless if there is corruption in the who, how, where and when of voting, how votes are processed, dirty voter rolls, weighed machine vote counting and no consequence for electoral malfeasance/ fraud. Look at what was done in Maricopa county, AZ. To misquote a famous poem 'How can we disenfranchise thee? Let's just count the ways...'

It makes you want to retire your Voter ID card and hang it up on a nail in the garage. It doesn't seem to matter which party wins, the democrats always come out smiling.

Our country is being disemboweled and we sit and watch it happening. It is like watching the battered wife getting beat up and doing nothing. Our Constitution is the battered wife. I do believe that God enters in when everything else has been exhausted, but I think that unless we start praying and fasting 24/7 that He will continue to turn a deaf ear, and our great and good country will just be no more.

Ranked choice voting is how she “won”. A system that Alaska voted to approve, but was installed to keep the Murkowski machine alive. Murkowski family is same as McCain machine in Arizona. Damn useless RINO!

Ranked choice voting disenfranchises the voters of the first and second choice candidates. It gives an extra vote to the voters of the eliminated candidates but not to the top candidates.

Were we worse off before we allowed direct voting for Senators?
If we can't have term limits then let's go back to the old way.

Nevada just voted for ranked choice. Fortunately we have to vote for or against it in 2024. If it passes again, we’re stuck with it. The independents got it on the ballot because they whined about not gett To vote in the primary unless they were registered as a Democrat or Republican. The only thing good about our election was we got rid of the democrat governor Sisolak.

I loathe ranked-choice voting and think there's plausible doubt of the outcome's legitimacy, even within that loathsome system.

Centrist is a very misleading word I haven't read in a long time. It means the same thing as RINO. Alaska has destroyed their elections with the "ranked choice" election system. Of course they probably practice other forms of election fraud also. Belts and suspenders.

Many years ago when Lisa was about to lose her first re-election she said: "My daddy left me that Senate seat!!!" And she's right. Every six years one way or another she manages to steal the election again and again. I intensely dislike Swamp Dwelling Republicans.

So the female version of Pierre Delecto "won" her seat back into the GOP swamp. Now I guess the Murkow can give her "Daddy Warbucks" Addison McConnell a big fat hug for his help. Well at least DiFi the demented will have her Republican sock puppet" to yell at and bully. My complete distaste for RINO's is about as equal as that of the dem-wit-o-crats.
