Amy Coney Barrett denies second bid to

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett once again denied an emergency application Friday to block President Biden’s multi-billion dollar student loan bailout. Two Indiana men, Frank Garrison and Noel Johnson, had asked Barrett to stay the program from going into effect while they appeal the dismissal of their initial suit by an Indiana federal judge. Johnson and Garrison, an attorney at the libertarian Pacific Legal Foundation, had argued that the automatic forgiveness of their student loan debt would cause them irreparable harm by sticking them with a hefty state tax bill.

Gross mismanagement of tax payer funds affects all of us tax payers — but we cannot get “standing” in a law suit to prevent it. A quirk of the Supreme Court’s "Cases and Controversies” writ.

So SCOTUS will only consider examining violations of the Constitution by a President if a citizen can show they have "standing"? I think this was the same problem with getting the court to look at vote fraud. Seems to me that any presidential action that violates the Constitution should give any citizen standing to challenge it without having to prove some sort of personal financial damages. But I guess none of us have standing to bring a case to demand standing to SCOTUS either...

Actually she screwed the plaintiffs. They wanted to avoid paying state taxes on their forgiven loans. To quote from the article which you obviously did not read: Two Indiana men, Frank Garrison and Noel Johnson, had asked Barrett to stay the program from going into effect while they appeal the dismissal of their initial suit by an Indiana federal judge. Each supreme court justice is required to review a certain number of appeals. Some are considered requiring court attendance. Some are not.

The Supreme Court is not going to step in at this juncture a few days before the midterm election and rule for or against any political controversy in DC. Following that election it may be a completely different situation.

I would not be surprised if Obama/Biden have something on her if she is denying the taxpayers standing. We foot the bills Sweetie, we pay your SCOTUS salary. That gives us all standing whether or not you like it. And I don't care if you don't like it.

Historian Victor Davis Hanson told Fox News host Tucker Carlson a “revolt” against “bicoastal snarky elites” was building Friday while discussing the upcoming midterm elections. “They’ve brought people together, Tucker. There’s a new ecumenical movement of African American males, Hispanics and the white working class that detest these bicoastal elites and are starting to look in class concerns rather than these racial differences,” Hanson said. “Just the antipathy towards these left-wing elites has created a consensus that I haven’t seen in my lifetime, and I think that we’ll be shocked next Tuesday when it roars.

President Joe Biden has had a rough week, getting fact-checked by Twitter, delivering angry speeches while avoiding battleground states, and being forced to “moonwalk” away from his ludicrous claim that he would close coal plants all over the country. On Saturday, he was at it again, saying in a speech in Joliet, Illinois that protesters lacked mental acuity. He was apparently triggered by the demonstrators outside the event who carried signs reading “Socialism Sucks,” “Vote Pro-Life,” and “Where’s Nancy.” His response: (Tweet/Video) I love those signs when I came in. In preparation for upcoming Tuesday’s midterm election, the National Guard will be activating cybersecurity teams in 14 states to assist in keeping election authorities’ networks secure from cyber attacks and from any malicious activities, Politico reported. “The move is part of a wider effort to ensure the midterms are secure from cybersecurity threats, which have loomed large in recent years since Russian interference operations in 2016,” the outlet added. During a press conference on Friday, Washington Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Gent Welsh said, “One of the things making a lot of this possible are states that’ve just decided to do it.”
