On September 15, 2022, Legal Insurrection Foundation held what I think was the best of our many online events. It was a night to hear from the inside about the Gibson’s Bakery v. I found it telling over the past week since I wrote in this space last Sunday about Oberlin College bringing on a Catholic agency to run its Student Health Services(Snip) that Oberlin College’s only public response, to this paper, was to issue a statement claiming its actions had been “inaccurately characterized” in recent media reports.(Snip)The Chronicle requested a copy of any contract with Bon Secours that would outline whether the provider, which has long practiced under Catholic healthcare directives, had promised to provide contraception and gender-affirming care. Shannon Brandt, 41, killed 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson early Sunday in McHenry with an SUV in an alley, KVRR-TV reported. He is charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
