On my wife’s suggestion, I shopped at Aldi the other day. The prices were as amazingly great as she said they’d be. We’re talking half-off the prices at our local high-end grocery and 25% off mainstream stores like Kroger.
Six months ago I would not have noticed because, guy-like, I never looked at prices. These days, with inflation raging, I don’t set foot in a store without my reading glasses. (Snip)

Following the FBI’s raid of the residence of former President Donald Trump, there’s been much speculation about the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) motivation. Was it done to prevent Trump from running again in 2024, or was the raid related to documents and evidence surrounding the January 6th Commission? While these factors may have had some bearing on the FBI’s raid, some entirely different, and potentially larger, factors may be at play.

When it comes to the National Archives, history has a funny way of repeating itself. And legal experts say a decade-old case over audio tapes that Bill Clinton once kept in his sock drawer may have significant impact over the FBI search of Melania Trump's closet and Donald Trump's personal office.
The case in question is titled Judicial Watch v. National Archives and Records Administration and it involved an effort by the conservative watchdog to compel the Archives to forcibly seize hours of audio recordings that Clinton made during his presidency with historian Taylor Branch.

Medical education, medical research, and standards of competence have been upended by two related hypotheses: that systemic racism is responsible both for racial disparities in the demographics of the medical profession and for racial disparities in health outcomes. I didn't know that inside the fiberglass blades is balsa wood -- lots and lots of it in even one turbine -- and the tremendous demand for this wood has awful consequences, often the fault of China and its connections, including deforestation, farms that fed the local people being made into balsa plantations, forced labor in South America, tribes given drugs, indirectly the abduction of young girls -- on and one -- and that's only the balsa part of it.
