Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 for its 13th flight on Friday, setting a new record for the most times one of its rockets have ventured off into space and returned safely back on Earth. The two-stage booster, known as B1060, ignited its nine Merlin engines at 12:09pm while on Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. B1060 previously launched the US Space Force’s GPS III-3 satellite, Turksat-5A, the Transporter-2 rideshare mission and completed nine Starlink missions. Not only does today's mission mark a new milestone for SpaceX, but it also delivered 53 new Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit -

Highly successful CEO and company. American based and more successful than Amtrak or the US Postal Service both failing government funded agencies. If they are competently led, they can be successful. Unlike union led Amtrak and USPS.

Not so long ago, they had recovered a number of boosters with their trademark "Buck Rogers" tailsitting landing, but hadn't reflown any. And now we have one that has done it's trick for 13 times? This is seriously cool. And everyone else is just tossing them in the ocean after one use. Gee, I wonder who'll have the lower priced "pound to orbit" fee schedule? Can you imagine what a trip from Atlanta to Paris would cost if they landed, took off the people and then burned the Boeing 777 to the ground? Yikes. I clearly remember watching the Buck Rogers serials at the Saturday afternoon movies down in Key West as a 7th grader, and I thought that it was "kinda fakey" that the flames coming out of the Buck Rogers rocket when he was landing on his tail fins was going down out of the tail and then ......going up and looking like some sort of a kerosene lantern flame, complete with smoke. But, even as kids, we knew it was "special effects" and not really very good ones. Now they do it for real.

When NASA was set up and expanded for the moon race, ordinary bureaucratic rules were waived. NASA had wide lastitude to make their mission by the end of the 1960s. NASA became arrogant, well beyond what people were observing. The head of NASA set up a grant program for universities to study NASA, identify why NASA was superior to other government agencies, and case studies were developed around those parameters. (My univeristy scored several million dollars in those grants, and sometimes didn't know what to do with the money. One Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering professor set up a travel agency with his grant funds. Another set up an engineering test lab, and sold his services to the public.. In summary, my university couldn't spend the NASA funds quickly enough.

Republicans in Texas formally rejected President Joe Biden's election in 2020 as illegitimate and voted in a state-wide convention that wrapped up this weekend on a party platform that calls homosexuality an 'abnormal lifestyle choice.' The convention was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from Thursday until Saturday, and the vote to reject Biden's election win was a verbal one. That resolution said: 'We believe that the 2020 election violated Article 1 and 2 of the US Constitution, that various secretaries of state illegally circumvented their state legislatures in conducting their elections in multiple ways, including by allowing ballots to be received after November 3 2020.'

Gunfire erupted on a street corner as crowds began to disperse from the “advocacy” festival called Moechella — which officers had shut down moments earlier over dangerous conditions. The event was advertised as a peaceful demonstration at 14th and U Street celebrating Juneteenth, but police described a chaotic scene where several illegal guns were recovered over the course of two-and-a-half hours.

Now she, along with two other Republicans, Cassy Garcia and Monica De La Cruz, have found themselves at the forefront of an undeniable national trend as they work to redden the three districts covering Texas’s southern-most point.

In her June 18/19 column at the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Noonan takes Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" slap at Trump voters and goes one — nay, two better. She refers to voters who question the results of the 2020 presidential election as "kooks, crooks, and freaks" and then smears the citizens who went to Washington, D.C. January 6, 2021 as "[t]hose poor stupid people." What is the basis for this criticism, which, arguably, is less ad hominem and, more accurately, descriptive of her mindset? Perhaps Ms. Noonan has not read Margot Cleveland's analysis in The Federalist showing how Georgia election officials failed to enforce the state's election laws in 2020.

Biden acknowledges America is in a funk, but shows no sense of compassion or determination to turn the tide.
