Why a Federal Ban on Menthols Is a Minefield
for Biden

Original Article

In the era of Black Lives Matter, does the Biden administration really want to take on prominent activists like Al Sharpton and Ben Crump—and make lives potentially harder for Black men, all because the government says it’s in their best interest? There is a cost-benefit analysis to be had between good public health policy and the dynamics of criminal justice reform as Democrats weigh the FDA’s proposed ban on menthol cigarettes, which will disproportionately affect the Black community. (Snip) Nearly 85 percent of Black smokers use menthol (as opposed to just 29 percent of white smokers), and its alluring cooling

Comments:

Nobody likes the government to be hectoring and cajoling them into changing a bad habit. A lot of black bros will be enraged if their Kools and Newports are outlawed.

The more our Government makes our lives miserable through their constant manipulation makes us want to drown our frustration through bad habits. I do understand the allure of Newports, after a while they were the only cig. that would give you a good hit.

Don’t worry. The dims are importing enough humans to replace not only the white population but the black population as well. It’s come to byedung’s attention that some people with black skin did not vote for him so the dims want to replace the historical black population with a more malleable dark skinned population. Consider it the dims’ modern incarnation of slavery: people as objects to be manipulated, rearranged, and dealt with. So nlacks’ opinion on menthol cigs will be swept aside, diluted and rendered irrelevant.

It’s always been amusing to me to see the do-gooder left twist themselves into knots regarding personal choice. Take away menthol cigarettes because they are bad for a certain demographic that the left feels incapable of doing the simplest chores...they imply that blacks are too stupid and irresponsible to get a photo ID to vote. That’s what they say but it’s just a cover for their voter fraud Yet, we have the left pimping for legal marijuana without the slightest idea of the long term effects. My brother has smoked weed all his life and is now tethered to an oxygen tank forever. That’s anecdotal but common sense tells me that deeply inhaling any kind of smoke for fifty years has got to be detrimental to your health.

Since my white Mama smoked Kools as an occasional treat to complement her multi-pack-a-day Pall Mall habit (Mammaw, her mama, only smoked Camels), I never thought they were "black" cigs. She also made some mean fried chicken and loved watermelon, so is it possible ole Elner is revealing her own racciss roots by claiming some sort of 'disparate impact' on blacks because of the FDA’s proposed ban on menthol cigarettes?

ANKARA - President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday it was not possible for NATO-member Turkey to support plans by Sweden and Finland to join the pact, saying the Nordic countries were "home to many terrorist organisations". Though Turkey has officially supported enlargement since it joined NATO 70 years ago, its opposition could pose a problem for Sweden and Finland given new members need unanimous agreement. Finland's plan to apply for NATO membership, announced Thursday, and the expectation that Sweden will follow, would bring about the expansion of the Western military alliance that Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed to prevent by launching

Pennsylvania Republican insiders are making a last-ditch effort to rally behind a single candidate in the gubernatorial primary – and defeat the front-runner, Doug Mastriano. Republican leaders are trying to corral Mastriano’s four leading rivals to urge all but one of them to drop out — and endorse the one with the best poll numbers. One version of the proposal calls for rallying behind former U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta, who was well-liked by former President Donald Trump and polling in second place in the latest public survey.
