University of Nebraska Regent Jim Pillen was projected to win Nebraska’s Republican gubernatorial primary on Tuesday, dealing a high-profile loss to former President Trump, who aggressively backed one of his rivals.
The Associated Press called the race at 11:23 p.m. ET.
Pillen came out ahead of eight other candidates running to replace Gov. Pete Ricketts (R).
The race was seen as the latest test for Trump, who had endorsed businessman Charles Herbster in the primary. Herbster is facing sexual misconduct allegations from eight women, including from state Sen. Julie Slama (R) and Elizabeth Todsen, who previously worked for state Sen. Dave Murman (R).

Well, you win some and lose some. Don't know much about Jim Pillen but hope he'll do good for Nebraska.

55-1 isn't a bad record. We're gonna lose a few, just dust yourself off and move on to the next one.

The Hill makes a big deal about this election "dealing a blow to Trump" but doesn't acknowledge just how successful Trump has been in backing candidates that he personally has endorsed.

this is something our President always mentions at the rally's - " ... dealing a high-profile loss to former President Trump, who aggressively backed one of his rivals. ... " when he talks about "the" election and its aftermath but with our President there is never a loss but only a pause - he is our greatest example of never give up and never give in

Have the charges from these 8 women been validated or is this an establishment RINO coordinated hit job? How did this fact not be considered before President Trumps rally last week?

Well I guess that's that! Trump is 55-1. What a loser! Let's pile on after one loss on top of 55 wins.

I saw Herbster at the Trump rally and I can see why he lost. He is a black man, and a bible-waving evangelistic pastor, and not that I am saying anything critical or negative, but others might be put off. Add that to his sexual misconduct allegations and it seems he might have a problem in his underwear. I am sure Pillen will win in the end.

Herbster is a white guy in a cowboy hat here is how Fox News reported this race: Trump notches a loss in Nebraska as Herbster goes down in GOP gubernatorial primary

Poster #8, I don't know who you saw at the rally but it wasn't Mr. Herbster. Mr. Herbster is a White man who owns a cattle ranch and has several businesses dealing with agriculture. And in April of 2022 he was accused of sexual harassment, kind of suspicious these would come just before the election.

These days, sexual harassment is more in the brain of the accuser rather than what is real. Mr. Herbster most likely touched the brim of his cowboy hat and said “Howdy! Good day to you, ladies.” to a couple of Vassar grads with purple hair and pierced lips.

The blow was to Herbster, methinks.

Trump will get over it. Pillen will win in November. Will the accusations against Herbster slowly fade away now that he is out of the race or will the accusers, or Herbster, demand their day in court?

According to an article posted above, President Trump’s record is now 58-1. Not much of a “blow to Trump”, losing one race.
I notice that The Hill doesn’t mention those 58 wins.

The establishment has found an Achilles heel for conservative elections. Conservatives will fall for any accusations that are immoral without waiting for proof. Conservatives think MAGA candidates should never do anything that would ever allow any accusations to be made, but what if they are fake? Russia Russia Russia Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine? Did you dump Trump after those were made? Hell no! Stick with the endorsement it’s the best we have.

Nebraska is an outlier Republican State run by establishment Republicans who use every avenue, even dirty tricks, to ensure that only RINO or establishment Republicans make it through the Republican Primary Election and qualify to be Republican candidates in the General Election. History shows that by way of the RINOS who have been elected in Nebraska during the modern era.

The accusations of sexual misconduct were a hit job straight from Governor Ricketts. The fix was in on Pillen from the very start. He never campaigned, nor debated. He was behind for quite awhile during vote counting and then suddenly pulls it out it the end. Sound familiar? In addition, our SOS who repeatedly denied any vote fraud in NE was just re-elected. See how that works?

gee, why doesn't the Hill talk about how many losers Obama has endorsed? I guess they would run out of bandwidth.

58 wins and the Hill makes it sound like the one loss was devastating. Oh please, find some real journalists. These reportersa are pathetic hacks.
