Jill Biden made an unannounced trip across the Ukraine border today for a Mother’s Day visit with Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelensky. It was the first time Mrs .Zelensky has appeared in public since Putin invaded Ukraine on February 24. Jill’s trip into Ukraine makes her the highest-profile member of the Biden administration to go into the war zone.
Credit when credit is due. Biden went into Ukraine, something that her husband, the President of the United States, did not do when he was in the region recently. In other words, the first lady is doing what the leader of the free world refuses to do.

Saturday, school board elections were held for four suburban Fort Worth, Texas, school districts. Candidates backed by a conservative parents’ organization won all 10 seats they contested and unseated at least three incumbents.
Usually, school board elections are low-key affairs that draw scant interest. But ever since COVID, Critical Race Theory (CRT), and mainstreaming of sexual grooming in our classrooms brought the stupidity and cruelty of many school board members to public view, they have become a battleground. Once sane people saw the horror show and bullsh** that was the Loudoun County, Virginia, school board, they started paying attention

Linda Greenhouse reported on the Supreme Court for the New York Times for 30 years. Since then, she’s appeared in the paper on a regular basis giving her fiercely pro-choice opinions. So it’s no surprise she had a say about the shocking leak of a draft opinion that appears to overturn the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationwide.
Sunday’s edition featured Greenhouse’s “The Draft Opinion’s Missing Women.” Yes, the Times headline is suggesting the abortion ruling is leaving out “women.” This from the paper that has spent the last year or so often leaving out the word “women” in pregnancy-related stories, in order to appease radical transgenders. But

Uzhhorod, Ukraine — First lady Jill Biden traveled into war-torn Ukraine Sunday, where she met with her Ukrainian counterpart in a Mother’s Day show of solidarity for women fleeing Russia’s invasion.
After crossing the Slovakian border, Biden traveled to the western city of Uzhhorod where she met Olena Zelenska, Ukraine’s first lady at a school.
“I thought it was important to show the Ukrainian people that this war has to stop, and this war has been brutal, and that the people of the United States stand with the people of Ukraine,” Biden said. Zelenska, who has not been seen in public since the invasion began, thanked Biden

Things are growing more and more dangerous after a draft opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade was leaked. Several of the Justices’ have been doxxed, and now protesters are gathering in front of their homes, attempting to pressure them to uphold the supposed “right” to the barbaric practice of abortion.
Videos show pro-abortion fanatics gathering at the homes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh. At one point, the video shows a coat hanger drawn in pink on the street, an obvious allusion to the common left-wing trope that women will get “back alley” abortions if they aren’t allowed to legally kill their children. There’s very little evidence that’s true

Republicans are on a roll nationwide and it doesn’t appear they’ll lose that luck anytime soon. Not only is the GOP maintaining its lead in the generic congressional ballot, but surveys from several key states show Republicans losing little ground to Democrats. But if you really want to know what the political landscape in the states is, just look at what the other party is doing. And Democrats — so optimistic when Biden took office — are now pulling back and regrouping, and lowering their expectations for gains in state legislatures, as the party suffers from its association with Joe Biden.

Country music legend Mickey Gilley has died at 86.
Pasadena, Texas Mayor Jeff Wagner announced the news via Facebook and Saturday and called the star a "true legend".
"Pasadena has lost a true legend," his statement began. "Mickey Gilley passed away today, surrounded by his loved ones." "It was my great honor to know this man most of my life. Mickey was a true musical talent who charted 42 singles in the Top 40 Country Charts over a span of two decades. Friday morning, Rich Strike wasn't entered in the Kentucky Derby. Saturday evening, the 80-1 long shot was a Derby champion.
The 148th Kentucky Derby went off under gray skies on a track that wasn't nearly as soaked as conditions had forecast, and for almost all of the race, the favorites ran as predicted. But in the final few paces of the race, Rich Strike cut to the inside to beat two favorites, Zandon and Epicenter, to win the race. Rich Strike, entered only when Ethereal Road scratched out Friday morning, is one of the longest-odds horses ever to win the race. Epicenter placed second, and Zandon finished third.

Grab the popcorn — looks like the woke folks at Twitter are going to have to start looking for some new jobs.
According to a plan that Elon Musk has reportedly laid out for investors, he intends to be the temporary CEO once he takes control and to can 1,000 staffers right away. Ultimately, he’s going to add more people, to the company, mostly engineering people over three years. It doesn’t sound like they’re going to be hiring more content moderation people (otherwise known as censors).
Musk has previously said that he intends to cut the salaries of the Twitter board, which would save another $3 million.

Elon Musk cast Twitter’s future into uncertainty when he made a successful $44 billion bid to acquire the company last month. He will take over as temporary CEO once the deal is complete, CNBC reported Thursday morning.
While countless Musk fans, and a slight majority of Americans—59%—approve of the takeover according to recent data from The Harris Poll, some current Twitter staff worry that it will dramatically change the company’s culture, and overall direction.
It’s still unclear how a Musk-run Twitter might impact the company’s ability to retain current staff and recruit new employees.

Dow component Walt Disney Co. (DIS) reports Q2 2022 results next week, with analysts looking for a profit of $1.19 per-share on $20.04 billion in revenue. If met, earnings-per-share (EPS) will mark a 51% profit increase compared to the same quarter last year, when renewed Covid restrictions delayed reopening plans. The stock rallied to 157 after beating Q1 estimates in February but that buying spike marked the highest high in the last three months, ahead of a major decline that’s relinquished 25% of its value. Bill Maher took on abortion during the panel discussion on his “Real Time” show on Friday night, and, while he is pro-choice, he blew up a lot of the narrative being pushed by the left in the wake of the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion — that somehow the opinion would make abortion go away and that the decision, if it held, could lead to infringements on rights such as interracial marriage. Joe Biden even lied and claimed that the draft opinion could lead to LGBTQ kids being segregated from other kids in the classroom.
Maher brought a little sanity back into the discussion, noting that in some other places
