According to AOC, those nearly 10 billion humans will place a major burden on the Earth. With what they need to live a comfortable existence — the house, car, utilities, food, travel, and other services, each with its own carbon footprint — those ten billion will increase carbon emissions by at least 43%. Just the livestock that human beings raise emit 37% of non-natural methane emissions, 23 times more damaging than all the CO2 from cars. From an environmental perspective, 10 billion humans seems an unacceptable number. For radicals like AOC, here are two solutions.

If AOC is so concerned about the climate, she should do her part and stop contributing her portion of CO2.

This article proceeds from a false premise: Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant.
It is not.
Carbon Dioxide it an essential component of the Earth's atmosphere, necessary to sustain all life on this planet.
If you disagree with that; you are, of course, wrong.
That is all.

As I've said before, I believe in climate change, just not man made climate change. Reducing emissions will not change Mother Nature. Rather than babble on about man made climate change, these morons need to accept that if the climate is changing, they can't do anything about stopping the change. However, humans need to prepare for natural climate change by planning ahead for it. Sooner or later, even with zero man made emissions, corn will no longer grow in Iowa, wheat will no longer grow in Kansas, cotton will no longer grow in Alabama, etc. Scientists need to figure out where corn, wheat, cotton, etc. will grow in the future, not how to control nature.

Occasionally-Cognizant requires more of earth's goodies than probably ten regular working citizens, with her fancy apartment and a Tesla that used more energy and natural resources to build, and fossil fuel to produce the electricity to run it than any gas powered car. When the people that constantly lecture me about my way of life, start living the life they want me to live, maybe I'll listen to their side.

43%, 37%, 23 times, blah, blah... Such definitive answers. Then why hasn't the earth overheated, frozen, or flooded since that crap was first pulled before she was born? We're in the Post-Covid world now and only the people still wearing masks believe you.
Maybe those numbers are the tips she stole.

When the earth is almost 75% covered by water and more of it inhabitable, how in the devil can people living on the remaining 20% control 100% of it.

This Climate Change scam will be perpetrated as long as the productive countries continue to pay the third world ransom for not being able to keep up with civilization. A better way to cut the world's population in half would be to develop an IQ test that would filter out people like AOC and give them a free ticket on a rocket to Mars. Guaranteed there is not much in the atmosphere there.

Variations in sun heat and variations in earth orbit cause long term climate changes. What humans do is hardly perceptible.

The Global Powers are essentially broke. The "Great Reset" has historically been World War. For the radicals it will solve two issues. First, it will thin out the herds of deplorables the Left hates so much. Second, the profits of war will wipe out the debts the West is currently living under.

If she is freaking out over this, wait until God finishes up His plan and the resurrected rejoin the living. There is actually plenty of land available, and since God created it all in the first place, I choose to believe He knows what He is doing.

I keep trying to find something for AOC besides stupid, so how about "Actually Occluded Concentration"? or "Accidently Occasionally Correct"?

There are simple solutions to a lot of the green initiatives, and one example is the Target store in Vista, CA where they installed solar panels on the roof of the entire store, and more in the parking lot area.
They did similar at Cal State Fullerton where they installed solar panels on the top level of their parking structures.
Take the current footprint of existing buildings and parking lots, and use them for the installation of massive number of solar panels. No need to use open land like they did out in the Mohave Desert near the Nevada border (near Primm, NV). There is ample coverage areas with so many warehouses, schools, universities, libraries, post offices, etc...
These would truly be investments by government, reduce their expenses for energy use, reduce the greenhouse gasses, and be of scale that would remove the need for individual installation.
Do this in areas of plentiful sunshine, and it helps the rest of the country where they may not have such an asset. Good for everyone.

I agree with AOC that the growth of our human population is predicated on the availability of energy. Even if we could limit the population in the developed world, countries in Africa and South America are not going to join our suicide pact. Fortunately, people whose jobs it has been since the birth of civilization to adapt to these existential events (engineers), have come up with "Door #3". It's called Thorium Fueled Molten Salt Reactors.
Nuclear power is 1 million times more efficient by unit mass than any chemical fuel including coal or oil and is 100% carbon free. A liquid fuel thorium reactor was built in 1969 at Oak Ridge National Laboratory by some of the same generation of "steely eyed missile men" that built the Apollo moon rockets. Just as we haven't returned to the moon since then, we failed to build the better nuclear reactor and instead followed the expensive, complex, and safety challenged path of pressurized water reactors used on nuclear subs. All the safety events like Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima, were all problems with solid fuel reactors controlled by water held at 150 psi that exploded into steam. Molten Salt Reactors operate at atmospheric pressure, are passively safe, and use the abundant element Thorium that is a byproduct of mining.
MSRs can actually burn the radioactive material in all those depleted fuel rods that are now lying around in corroding canisters at current nuclear sites.
Fortunately. countries like Indonesia are working with companies like ThorCon to bring practical thorium reactors to the developing world in the next 4 years without the bottleneck created by the PWR centric NRC. Other companies like Copenhagen Atomics and Flibe Energy are working out the materials, instrumentation, and process chemistry problems that will make "breeder" thorium reactors capable of producing their own fuel while generating power available in the next 5 years.
People like AOC view an apocalypse as a moral judgement on human nature. Engineers view it as job security.

Human activities has no significant impact on global climate.
Hard facts. These climate whackos are dangerous totalitarian communists looking for an excuse to control more and more of our lives.
