Some things don't make sense.
That brings us to some testimony from the FBI's assistant director for cybersecurity who told Congress's Rep. Matt Gaetz that he had no idea where Hunter Biden's laptop, entrusted to FBI custody, actually is:
According to the Post Millennial:
"Who has it?" Gaetz asked.
"I don’t know who has it," said [FBI Assistant Director for the Cyber Division Bryan] Vorndran.
"What now you're telling me right here is that as the Assistant Director of FBI Cyber, you don't know where this is, after it was turned over to you three years ago?" Gaetz said.
"Yes, sir. That's an accurate statement," Vorndran responded.

Intentionally. Bad luck for them that the repair shop owner kept a copy.

Same way Epstein's guards "were asleep," the same way Hillary!'s emails magically vanished, the same way the J6 film footage "can't be released due to 'security' concerns."
They don't even care if we know they're lying anymore.

A. By design.
We have seen this play out with other items the FBI should have possession of. But, since losing embarrassing stuff comes without punishment, it will continue to happen until someone is held accountable, hence this will continue indefinitely.

The hard drive is of vital importance, but the laptop itself has no legal value as evidence, does it?
I have been asking here for any attorney to chime in on best evidence rule.
Back almost 20 years ago, a parish priest from Edinboro, Pa, was arrested for possession of child pornography, but never taken to trial, because the Pennsylvania State Police computer guy did not download the child porn from the priest's computer, 'properly' and therefore, it was not admissible.
Could that happen here? Fruit from the poison tree???

If the FBI did actually “lose” the laptop in question, that would have to have occurred on purpose!

FTA: "I don’t know who has it," said [FBI Assistant Director for the Cyber Division Bryan] Vorndran.
He's speaking the truth. It was purposely set up so that he and many others do not know who has it. They don't WANT to know. Call it plausible deniability or call it semantics... the government agency that is set up to combat public corruption is intentionally attempting to obstruct justice.

They LOSE nothing. They hide or destroy anything that is convenient for them to not have around any more.
FBI = KGB, without any doubt.
The FBI needs to be permanently erased from history. NO replacement. We'll be better off without ANY federal LE capability than with this horror show.

It is hanging from the garage door rope noose at the car racetrack the 25 FBI agents are investigating. FBI cyber expert just hasn't been informed about it yet he'll have to circle back. Defund the FBI.
