Journalist Glenn Greenwald said in a Tuesday Twitter thread that there was one single moment that changed media coverage of the coronavirus pandemic — and that when it “flipped overnight,” it destroyed trust in media.
The death of George Floyd — at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin — and the massive protests it inspired prompted a near-180 turn from multiple media outlets that had just spent the previous weeks telling Americans that the only patriotic thing to do was stay home to stop the spread of the virus.
“This was a pivotal moment in the pandemic’s history,” Greenwald began. “For 4 months, the message was clear and unrelenting:

He is absolutely right! Another aspect has been the refusal of our government to ask or demand anything of our illegal alien invaders in order to stop spreading covid, but we citizens had to toe the line.
I have a bit of a pet peeve with stories lime this one. The article quotes a tweet, then shows the tweet. Then does another, and another. Duplicating everything. Is it to make the article appear longer than it really is? Like in school, we wrote large to fill up the page when we had very little to work with.

Yes, Glenn. How great to see a journalist who pursues the truth, not an agenda. BLM and Antifa protests were the first of 4 pillars to fall. Allowing flagrant violation of immigration laws in a pandemic was number two. The “omNicrom” wave with few if any deaths was number three. That leaves one last pillar to fall.
I agree #2. I’d rather they put a link to the tweet rather report the tweet then post the tweet. I’m 61 and it makes me feel like I’m getting dementia.

My trust in the media died LONG before Felony Floyd bounced off the pavement. As in - decades before.

What was it, May 28 '20, watching the country burn and already in enough possession of the facts to know how wrong it all was, I told the wife "George Floyd, the man who ended the world". Yeah, a million pieces were already in place, waiting for that moment but it all changed for the much worse that day.

I agree that the Floyd situation was part of the loss in trust of the media, however, I think the real problem is the lack of true journalism. Where is the true discussion on Covid. They taught the "government line" without question, while people die needlessly. What has happened to our government that is surprising treatment of the sick, denying life saving medicines because of pharmaceutical pressure and politics, and having a one trick pony approach - vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. while citizens are finding their own cures and yet the media is deaf, dumb and blind. Where are they and why aren't they asking these questions?

It infuriates me that the biggest lie that is repeated in ad nauseum is that George Floyd was murdered by a cop. He died from a self-induced, massive drug overdose.

Keep in context. 2020 was an election year. The dems, the msm, the IC, DOJ, the swamp (but I repeat myself) desperately wanted to remove Trump. Privately, those entities conceded that Trump would be re-elected despite their efforts to impeach him (Russia hoax and Ukraine phone calls). The economy was strong, unemployment was low, the southern border problems were mitigated, and both China and Iran were on the ropes. There was no denying that Trump was the prime mover in that…and more.
Looking back, the so-called pandemic response was an opportunity (as well as the conflated coverage over George Floyd) to make the Trump administration look bad. No doubt that Trump misstepped (namely the attention and weight given to Fauci and Birx) but Trump sincerely was trying to protect and give Americans hope in executive actions (banning flights from China, Operation WARP SPEED, etc) based on the information we had at the time. Nevertheless, medical, media, big tech, and federal/state/local bureaucratic institutions shredded their own credibility and trust under the guise of “science” and “anti-racism” to exploit the opportunity of COVID and the Floyd riots to once and for all get rid of Trump.

There is a lot of truth here and it exposes the frailty of our systems.
First, George Floyd was out and about, why? In one of the transcripts, George Floyd told the police officers he had covid. I guess there were no protocols in place to deal with covid patients and that is apparent with George Floyd. I thought there was a lockdown going on. Where were protocols in place for covid patients and the illegal drug environment.
Second, because George Floyd was suffering because of illegal drugs in his system, police officers were administering what they thought was protocol from the police handbook. This exposes upper management's lack of leadership with officers that have to go out and deal with the ridiculous problems people create for other people EVERY day.
I wholeheartedly agree that the media and liberals used this situation to promote their agenda. . .

Many of us here can pinpoint at different times what the media was wrongly displaying, all of it left leaning narratives.
From Cronkite, Rather, Sam Donaldson until today we have seen the twisted lies thrown at us. Journalism died in about 1950 when sensationalism and leftist commentary began. We mocked the Enquirer but now it is more journalistic than the New York Times. A rock magazine like the Rolling Stone became a political rag and often quoted by the likes of lying CNN. President Donald Trump was right to call the media as 'enemy of the people'. MAGA

As a kid, I lost trust in the msm during the walter cronkite days in the late 1960s. My folks hated his guts for his reckless bias. He made it sound like it was Nixon's war when in fact it was that jug-eared texan LBJ who ran the war while fat and happy in his oval office. Cronkite's disregard for our military was disgusting as evidenced by his weekly hate-filled drumbeat of the Vietnam War and those American soldiers fighting it. And he had the gall to praise Hanoi Jane for going to North Vietnam to laugh it up with the communist leadership with her anti-American propaganda.

My trust with the news media died in 1971 when they reported nationally about a huge riot for a week, and it was a local dust up that covered all of one block.

Utter nonsense! That's like trying to say the last straw broke the camel's back .... when that would not have happened without the 50,000 straws that came before it.
Our trust was slowly whittled away over years. And after Floyd ... even unto today ... many people think Biden is doing a great job and Fauci is a saint.

I lost my trust in the media under the Gingrich Revolution. The media worked overtime running defense for the Democrats.
I lost trust in my fellow man when I saw them sit silently by while Marxists burned police cars in the streets of my States Capital and the police were ordered to stand by and do nothing. The silence was deafening. The sheep didn't even bah.

No one with any sense has "trusted" the media for many decades due to their myopic, partisan, one-sided propaganda, whose bias always...always... favors:
liberalism over conservatism
communism and socialism over capitalism and free markets
democrats over republicans
environmentalists over industrialists
islam over Christianity
deviant, sexual perversion over traditional heterosexuality

China's hope to rig our election with big business and the media back fired...they installed a china/freindly puppet in the Oval Office and the establishment clapped with glee....BUT...it didn't last long...Americans woke up...pardon the reference to the snowflakes...and started to fend for themselves...by that I mean...WE started asking questions...WHY can blm antics destroy businesses and no questions asked?...so then it follows...in my line of logic...shall WE stiff the big credit card companies who gleefully send orders from amazon ...while Mom and Pop local stores suffer?...because the big bad ole politicians called biden/obama demand WE mask up and stay home?...something's rotten in Washington DC....

It started when science became a political took, as in the Global Warming hoax. In the case of the CCPvirus our Globalist enemies decided it was the moment to go for world control. The NIH and AMA went along. No Hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin for you, prepare to die in a respirator and wash your hands. Do not go into a hospital, American Doctors have become a danger to our health.

Greenwald nailed it, that's exactly when it happened. After the "15 days to slow the spread," their narrative changed and I was suspicious, but it was how they handled the mostly peaceful riots that wiped out their credibility.
