So Kamala Harris, who's "never been to Europe" at least until her trip to France last week, made sure she got some shopping time for herself on her trip to ... Paris.
According to Fox News, she splashed out the dollar equivalent of $582 for cookware at a storied and tony boutique. E. Dehillerin, founded in 1820.
Vice President Kamala Harris spent over $500 on cookware in a Parisian shop amid rising inflation and economic uncertainty at home in the U.S.
The vice president visited the shop on her four-day diplomatic trip to Paris last week, reportedly dropping 516 euros on pots and pans at high-end cookware store E. Dehillerin.
And as if she or her husband is going to be doing any cooking. As the VP she lives a life of ease with maids, chefs, butlers and chauffeurs provided at taxpayer expense.
Also she is probably too stupid to know that she can reclaim the VAT she paid on her French pots.

I don't mind her spending the money except HellsUp did this useless trip on our dime. She also has a full staff at the Naval Observatory to cook and clean. I'd bet boiling water is beyond her, but the expensive cookware will in her feeble mind make her an accomplished chef.
HellsUp is a useless bag of molecules.

for her it was probably a tax write off, for the rest of us, it's an expense

I’m surprised that sophisticated Monica doesn’t know that Dehillerin is not a “tony boutique”, but a store where French chefs have bought their serious cooking equipment and kitchen supplies for two centuries. It used to be in Les Halles, where food was sold to chefs. The place is not fancy but chockful of kitchen stuff, everywhere, hanging on walls. Mind-boggling. And the employees are really not that crazy about dealing with touristy types. Prefer the pros.
When French food became faddie in the 70s, many trekked to Dehillerin, if they were in Paris, to purchase the beautiful heavy tin-lined copper pots that have been used in French restaurants and home kitchens for long years. Mine pretty much ended up being decor because they work well on only gas stove tops. And are miserable to clean. But they are very beautiful.
Kammie will use hers for show, I’ll betcha.

Could she be practicing for her new second career? She sucked as a politician and attorney general. Maybe she should try her hand at cooking.

Kamala continues to cook her own goose, but at least it's now on her dime.

Good cookware is expensive...spending this much is very easy to do. Seems like a trivial non-story.

At first I thought that she had spent $578,000, that might be newsworthy, but $578.00 for French cookware? I would love to hear about what culinary delights she plans to whip up in her new frying pan and serve in her copper "dish," but, if she also picked up a "multitude of other kitchenware items" she got a bargain.
I cannot stand Kamala but let's not act like the Dems and pounce on everything. That just buries all of her truly outrageous words and deeds.

Thx 4 & 7. This is some writer’s unlucky draw for an after-Thanksgiving Day article. $582 is a substantial some for many to pay for but not unreasonable for quality cookware. Heck a good set of knives alone can run you that much.
Barely tangential but mention made necessary because of my devotion and disciplehood; please explore Darto for rivetless carbon steel skillets and paella pans:

Oh, c'mon. This is the best one can do? How many here have "fancy cookware" perhaps cast in France themselves? This is chicken-shoot. She should have bought that blue granite stuff, I suppose. And, they cut off one payment of $49.95....but wait!

She should have just broken into a Le Creuset store here in the U.S. Just try to keep it under a $1000.

The only time she was ever around cookware was when she was throwing it at Wille when he told her to take a hike....

It's her money, but if I were in her shoes, I wouldn't brag about it to voters who are suffering sticker shock every time they go into a grocery store or a gas station.

Buying cookware is probably the only "accomplishment" that Mattressback has made during her 10 months in office.

Actually, after doing some curiosity surfing of high end pots and pans, she didn't really spend all that much. She bought the name brand is what she bought. Given the salary she has commanded from being a DA, AG a Senator, she could have gone to Europe anytime she wanted. But that would have been on HER dime, not the taxpayers.

My complaint is with the spending of money stolen from taxpayers. I don't give a crap if she buys a pot or pan.

$600 doesn't buy you many toney pots and pans. I despise her, but this is the wrong tactic to take against her. We're starting to sound like Democrats. It's not an inappropriate amount for someone of her means (her husband is worth millions).

I'm most incensed that she didn't purchase American cookware. You know, like Made in the USA.
