The media and public naturally looked to Dr. Anthony Fauci—the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an esteemed laboratory immunologist and one of President Donald Trump's chosen COVID advisers. Epstein corrected the president that she works for Bloomberg News, which is owned by the financial entrepreneur, who was mayor from 2002 to 2013.

All of the major networks and the Associated Press have declared that Glenn Youngkin will be the next governor of Virginia. According to Politico, Youngkin currently leads by 2.7 percentage points. Terry McAuliffe’s un-concession speech made it all too obvious that he has controversial election attorney Marc Elias working on this even as you read this. Will it work? Nope. (Snip) There is no automatic recount in Virginia, and any loser contesting the election must show that the margin between the recount requester and the winning candidate is less than or equal to one percent of the total votes cast for the two candidates.

He continues to insist that Critical Race Theory (CRT) isn’t taught in the state’s schools while accusing his Republican opponent in Virginia’s gubernatorial contest of using CRT as a “racist dog whistle.” In reality, the Commonwealth’s education system was initially infected with this pernicious ideology during McAuliffe’s first term as governor and it has rapidly metastasized during the past four years under his Democratic successor Ralph Northam.
The president of a California school district was caught cursing on a hot mic during a school board meeting Tuesday, after a parent gave a speech knocking masks in classrooms and COVID-19 vaccination mandates for students.
Lauren Roupoli, who called herself a concerned parent, addressed the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education and spoke about the problems she perceives are involved with enforcing a mask mandate in children. (Snip) "We are vocal because we are our children’s biggest advocates."

Public school enrollment in Fairfax County, one of the wealthiest in the country, continues to drop, even though schools have returned to in-person learning full-time. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe is rapidly losing support, especially among voters with K-12 children. And that’s because concerns about public education and the backlash against leftist efforts to keep parents out of it are organic, no matter how much Democrats would like them not to be.
Fairfax officials reported a total of 178,595 students in classes on Sept. 30, well below the 189,010 students who attended class during the 2019-20 school year before the pandemic.

If there is one lesson I learned working in the startup industry, it’s that people tend to assume everyone else will behave the way they behave. This was a revealing education in human behavior. Someone who accuses everyone of cheating is likely to be a cheat. Someone who tends to be trusting is likely to be trustworthy.
Unfortunately, of course, trusting types don’t always make the best businessmen: This quirk of human nature, the tendency to see everyone else through one’s own reflection, often makes victims of the best people. There is nothing quite as rotten as seeing a crook accuse an honest man of being a crook.
Attend a Loudoun County school board meeting in Virginia, and you will find it almost as locked down as the US Capitol post-January 6. Police cars line the streets and dozens of security personnel post up inside the building. I attended the most recent meeting on Tuesday as media and was subject to a thorough bag check and extensive metal scanning. Residents who wish to speak at meetings are not even allowed in the building until they are in the next group of ten scheduled to appear, and they are not allowed to bring in bags or purses.
