WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Monday urged Republican senators to “get out of the way” and let Democrats suspend the nation’s debt limit, hoping to keep the U.S. government from bumping dangerously close to a credit default as Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell refuses to lend his party’s help. Biden’s criticism came with Congress facing an Oct 18 deadline to allow for more borrowing to keep the government operating after having accrued a total public debt of $28.4 trillion. The House has passed a measure to suspend the debt limit, but McConnell is forcing Senate Democrats into a cumbersome

The whole foundation of a 2 party (do we still have one?) is to be 'in the way' until a reasoned debate takes place. Otherwise it's tyranny.

Senator McConnell keeps saying that Democrats don't need the GOP to increase the debt ceiling. If that is accurate, Biden is just looking for bipartisan cover. I say we don't give it to him. Let FJB own this stinking pile of garbage.

The Dems have enough votes now—without any Republicans— to raise the Debt Limit under resolution.
That’s how they passed ObamaCare.

Joe, please explain just how Republican Senators are in the way of suspending or increasing the debt limit.
Democrats have the votes to get it done without any Republican support. They just do not want to be accountable.

Joe's getting feisty again, and the chants of F Joe Biden keep getting louder. The chants of F Joe Biden are getting quite deafening to be honest.
This is all on you Joe. And the Democratic party. You can't keep them in line, and now want Republican help. Funny way of asking for it.
Joe, your zero dollar, five trillion dollars, 'spending' plans needs to sink out of sight never to be found. That's the fate it deserves. And you along with it for pushing such a travesty.

The Republicans are getting out of the way. They've wiped their hands of the whole affair. Now it's up to the demosluts to approve the debt ceiling. It's all on them.

As I recall, reconciliation", where a bill can be passed by a simple majority in the Senate, can only be used twice in one year. The Dems want to use this to pass the $3.5T "no cost infrastructure" bill. I think this has already been used once. If they have to use it to eliminate the debt ceiling, it would not be available to cram the nation-destroying no-cost infrastructure bill down our throats. This could explain their hissy-fit.
If I am wrong, I would love to be corrected. I will be watching for any. Thanks, in advance.

It seems like the wimpy Republicans are out of the way as they are saying that they are not about to vote
to raise up the debt limit, and the Democrats have enough votes to do that all by their lonesome.

Joe, the Republicans are "out of they way". They are letting the Democrats pass the debt ceiling and bankrupt the US spending bills by themselves. The only things blocking them from doing so re 2 Democrat Senators and Democrat infighting in the House. Republicans are not a part of your party's infighting. If Democrats want this huge pile of debt and deficit spending passed, go for it, own it, take full responsibility for it. Democrats won't do it because they don't want all of the blame for bad legislation and spending.
