Democrats in of the House of Representatives will introduce a bill next week to limit the tenure of U.S. Supreme Court justices to 18 years from current lifetime appointments, in a bid to reduce partisan warring over vacancies and preserve the court's legitimacy.. The new bill, seen by Reuters, would allow every president to nominate two justices per four-year term and comes amid heightened political tensions as Republican President Donald Trump prepares to announce his third pick for the Supreme Court after the death on Sept. 18 of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, with just 40 days to go until the Nov. 3 election..

There's this little thing called a constitution and some parts can't be amended. Like this one. They are actually this stupid or they think we are. Guess which.

Just another part of this Representative Republic today's Democrats don't like. Some of their voters will actually believe this sounds like a good idea without actually thinking about it. Think for yourself, or others will think for you without thinking of you (Henry David Thoreau)

I think, in theory, this is a good idea that I could support. But of course, it would require a Constitutional Amendment. Mark Levin proposed something similar in the Liberty Amendments.

As long as Congress determines the make up of the SCOTUS, whatever they do, they can undo, and would surely reverse this when next they were in power. I'd go for 30 years, if it were in an amendment.

OK, combine that with in person voting and a heavy, mandatory prison sentence for voter fraud. Then review all educational materials that might encourage sedition or destruction of American founding principles, and we have a deal.

Mark me in favor. Not only SCOTUS, but *ALL* federal judges, magistrates included. All members of either house of Congress as well. Time to relegate all segments of the federal government to the small, limited role which was intended by the Founders.

Section 1. The judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behaviour, and shall, at stated times, receive for their services, a compensation, which shall not be diminished during their continuance in office. Sounds to me like a lifetime appointment. Had the founders envisioned the life expectancy that we have today, they may have re-thought that. Instead of term limits, I would prefer an age limit or a requirement to step down for health or mental incapacitation. Ginsberg should have stepped down years ago.

Congress could always try what was done to Andrew Johnson in 1866. They reduced the number of Supreme Court judges from 10 down to 7, and Johnson could not appoint any judges. Once Johnson was out of office, Congress increased the number of judges up to its current number (9). The Democrats would first have to retake the Senate for this to work however.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
