COLUMBUS — The dreams for a perfect season for one of the most talented Ohio State rosters ever assembled have been dashed.
The nightmare scenario has arrived for college football, with the Big Ten officially electing to delay all games on Tuesday while holding out some hope it could potentially play in the spring — a decision that multiple sources at Ohio State believe is untenable.
Gotta protect all those nonagenarian football players with secondary comorbidity.

College football players and related personnel should be the last individuals who should fear the Covid-19. This is a national disgrace. A blot on America. Is more going on here than fear?

I heard a report this morning that said that the cancellation of the football season would cost the University of Wisconsin football program ALONE $100 million.

Looks like Ohio State will have a perfect season, unbeaten and unscored upon.

Many outstanding players opted out of the NFL draft in order to play this season and graduate from college. Query how many of them will opt out of a second opportunity to play in the pros in 2021. It will be a smaller and therefore less competitive, draft with fewer eligible players because of the loss of this season. What a pity for their former college teams.

Tin foil hat time.
This is fear mongering by the left, pure and simple. It is to "keep up the scare" among the masses. We can't have things return to normal and have the economy rebound before the election, that would only help bad orange man!
The left is using this fear as an excuse to keep Groping Joe away from the public so that we can't readily see what an addle brained old coot he really is. Plus it gives them more ammo to keep pushing for their vote-fraud-by-mail scheme if the can keep enough people afraid to leave their houses.
This will continue until after the election, count on it.

Well, surely they will still continue the tradition of gathering at the stadium at the appropriate time and playing the national anthem so that all the players can kneel to protest systemic racism, police brutality and white supremacy. Oh, and Donald Trump, too.

Good!
Nobody wants to look at those three feet of dreadlocks hanging out of their helmets.
Call me when they actually go to class and learn something besides how racist football is!

If some leagues play and others don’t play, the teams that are unable to play are bound to loose some good players to the leagues that will play because there is no guarantee that there will even be college football in 2021. Sad!
Anyone still think that the Communist Chinese did not drop the hammer on the USA when they allowed the very contagious COVID-19 virus to be exported to the USA and other countries through uncontrolled global airline travel?
With such a free, diverse, and vastly undisciplined population spread all over the USA, the Communist Chinese had to know that they were putting a severe hurt on the US and other world economies, not alone killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans. There is nothing to keep what amounts to a different COVID-20 virus from being exported here next year, especially with the leftist and liberal Democrats giving Communist China a pass, while fraudulently blaming President Trump for not immediately testing 325 million Americans and not having an effective vaccine ready to stop a virus that nobody in the world except the Chinese Communists knew existed.

1944: Boats full of young men, many of them 18-22, prepare to storm the beaches of Normandy with a 90% chance of death. They didn't hesitate.
2020: Strong, athletic men, ages 18-22, cower in their bedrooms out of fear of a virus with a 0.04% death rate.
Our nation is doomed!!!!!

My good gracious. You would think that on a football field they could kneel for the national anthem six feet apart with masks on. Then they could get in their Mercedes and go home. Might as well because I don't care if they can catch a ball.

With no fans, the virus rules, sponsors wanting a big discount, the season was steering toward watching what amounts to football practice. With this much against, better to wait until next season.

So, let the teams play ''exhibition games.'' Big 10, or other conferences would have no purview over that. Sure, there would be no championship, but so what? Everyone can choose their own champion! Of course, the liberal administration would probably fight that and try to prevent any games, but the alumni could deal with that!

Just as the democrats are using every trick in the book to prevent the re-election of Trump, this is a multi-level conspiracy against Clemson and their all-American, Christian quarterback Trevor Lawrence. LSU, 'Bama, Georgia, and OSU don't have anyone decent returning from last year and Clemson was destined to take the championship in a romp. They'll now have to settle for walloping their new ACC opponent, Notre Dame (maybe twice in one season). Jumping into the conference for a year merely to make a buck, the Irish had to drop all their non-conference games except one. It was the Navy that kept that university afloat during WW2 so Notre Dame returns the favor by dropping the Mids from their schedule in deference to Western Michigan(!) - who is now barred from playing by their own conference.

We can be snarky about pampered athletes not being glorified for tossing a ball around, but let’s not forget about the almost incomprehensible magnitude of the impact of this decision. It’s not just the football players and coaches, it’s the local restaurants, bars, hotels, caterers, transportation companies, sellers of team merchandise, the school groups who earn much-needed funds for working concessions stands, the owners of parking lots, the groceries, the people who sell advertising, the photographers. This will kill secondary sports programs at most schools, which are funded from football revenues. I can’t even wrap my head around the negative impact of this, and I say this as someone who hasn’t watched a college football game for four quarters for years. This decision is another in the long line of decisions intended to dispirit us, to destroy our sense of community, and further polarize the masked and the anti-maskers. No one sees skin color when cheering for their team. Here in my town, almost everyone bleeds scarlet and grey. I’m sick about this.

This is just another humongous kowtow to the Dems and their media toadies. Keep everything off-kilter until the election, in hopes that enough people will blame it all on Trump in order to ward off his re-election it would serve all of them right if the fans and money never came back.

The cancellation is absolutely necessary. As posters have said, if nasty sweaty players can congregate in the locker room, and run. block, tackle (no social distancing) and they will obviously not wear masks, why is there any concern? This paints the whole thing as a scam, which it is. There was no way they would play in order to keep up the facade.

The Big Ten had reportedly convinced the other conferences to cancel, but Trevor Lawrence of Clemson started pushing back in a tweet. It ain't over. Even Ryan Day of Ohio State said he didn't know about the cancellation. It's getting warmer for this piece of crap Big Ten commissioner.

First the MAC Conference. Now the Big Ten. Next the Pac-12. The SEC? The ACC? The Big 12? What a bummer.
