After a late-spring lull, daily coronavirus cases in the United States have again hit record highs, driven by resurgent outbreaks in states such as Florida, Arizona and California. Hospitals in Houston are on the brink of being overwhelmed, and public health experts worry the pandemic’s death count will soon be climbing in tandem with the daily case load.(Snip) Against this backdrop, a team of economists at Goldman Sachs has published an analysis suggesting more painful shutdowns could be averted if the United States implements a nationwide mask mandate.

Are these the same idiots who said that moving jobs to China was the best plan, and that there is no need to produce pharmaceutical chemicals in the USA? Did they say the the US economy would tank and all our prices would go up if the President used tariffs to try to get China to obey international laws?
If Thomas Sowell tells me something about economics, I will believe it. If some idiot like Paul Krugman, who claims to be an economist, tells me to do something, I will be certain that the opposite course of action is the correct move.

So sayeth the Washington Post ( Bezos) who have nothing but good intentions. B.S. The masks do nothing , are purely a visual of fear and control. Breathing in your own exhaled carbon dioxide is never in your best interest. The virus can be contracted through the eyes, any mandate for wearing goggles?

10s of thousands of no mask or wrongly masked protesters march, dance, sing, shout, chant, scream, lie down, burn, loot, vandalize, and even create their own countries in our American cities. Most are 20-40. In EVERY STATE where there have been these massive protests we are seeing a jump in cases between 20-40. Here the jump in cases in those age brackets has been astonishing. They get the sniffles at worst. How about you write an article on THAT!?

Did economists say we could shut down the entire economy without manufacturing an unmitigated disaster?
Did economists say we could squeeze more taxes out of our economy without having the exact opposite effect reversing patterns that have existed for the past century?

As it's been said by many doctors, masks are to the virus like cyclone fences are to mosquitos.

Cases rise, mostly by those under 60, but death rates are flattening. Death counts may rise, but death counts always rise (we mortals are doomed to die). One American city, Houston, says if things get worse it may run short of hospital beds.
Put it together and you get a transparent effort to spread panic. After all. the Dems put the panic in panDEMic.

I won’t click on the Bezos Compost. Did Ingraham mention that everyone has to sterilize their mask after each use or they are inhaling their own bacteria? Did he mention that paper masks are single use only and should be thrown away after one use? Bet not. But keep wearing those face diapers if it makes you feel morally superior.

If every American - - including the undocumented ones - - spent seven minutes every day bouncing on a trampoline - - 17,421,308 lives could be saved. Congress must allocate $2.471 trillion to pay the Soros & Soetero Trampoline Company to place an apparatus on the property of every private home - - and on the roof of every multiple-dwelling unit.
Do it, Congress - - do it NOW!

National mask mandate is just another way to dehumanize the population, take away individuality and control the population by fear.

Hospitals in Houston are not being overwhelmed. Ask the hospitals, and not the WaPo. Against that backdrop, read no further, because the premise of the WaPo narrative is false.

I would imagine the 142,000 small businesses that have gone out of business probably forever since this debacle started would add more to the addition of masks to our daily wardrobes. I haven't worn a mask since this started and I'm not going to start now.

If the mask were so important to stopping the spread, why didn't they make it criminal no to wear one at the beginning of this mess? My guess is this is additional nonsense without any benefit that clueless politicians use all the time t hide their incompetence from us.

The mask is a mark of citizen compliance with the decrees of all-knowing government bureaucrats. It's a way to identify the sheep.

The government knows that forcing you to wear a cloth over your mouth is even more effective than forcing you to wear one around your arm.
This is about requiring that citizens demonstrate their submission, not the economy.
