Monty Python stars have led the tributes to their co-star Terry Jones, who has died at the age of 77.
The Welsh actor and writer played a variety of characters in the iconic comedy group's Flying Circus TV series, and directed several of their films.
He died on Tuesday, four years after contracting a rare form of dementia known as FTD.
David Walliams and Simon Pegg were among other comedians who remembered him.
Fellow Python star Sir Michael Palin described Jones as "one of the funniest writer-performers of his generation".
In a tweet, John Cleese said he was "a man of so many talents and such endless enthusiasm".

Ah, Terry Jones...I believe the the phrase I would most recall would be "There's not so much rat in that"
Bless you, sir and may God enjoy your quips.

They were a really funny crew, great times when they were all together, in their primes.

I wish the Monty Pythons were around today to do "The Impeachment" in the same vein as "The Inquisition"!

#3 Don't think you would like it if they did -they were indeed funny but also very liberal, everyone. And now poor Terry has to face a God he believed did not exist and could be made fun of. Not going to be funny,.

John Cleese's comments included, though they pale nextto his eulogy for Graham Chapman (R rated): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkxCHybM6Ek

Terry Jones was probably the least prominent of the Monty Python crew - - but like Zeppo Marx - - he may have been the funniest.
I'll always think of him in drag - - with that high-pitched voice. He was hilarious as the Virgin Mary in The Life Of Brian.
RIP, Terry.

MPFC was such an important part of the culture back then. To the point that their influence is still felt even now. MP and the Holy Grail was groundbreaking comedy, and still quoted today. Terry Jones created some of the funniest sketches and along with Terry Gilliam created their movies as well. They existed to spoof the pomposity of British life and politics, and to my mind, they were the original social justice warriors. Nothing escaped their examination. Fawlty Towers was another hilarious gem, and based on a real life hotel owner as well.
I figured they were Oxford/Cambridge educated, but I do know that they all despised what they saw as the hypocrisy of the modern Church in Britain. RIP Terry, and peace to your family. You were much loved by this gal, and your gentle humor will be missed.

- Sorry, squire, I've had a look, and we're right out of Terry Joneses. I've got a Bill Maher.
- Is it funny?
- [shrug] Not really.
- Well it's scarcely a replacement then, is it?
- [leans forward] I didn't want to work in show business. I wanted to be a lumberjack.
All together, I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK ....

Monty Python´s funniest skit: Michael Palin´s character was walking across the USSR and popped into the British consulate in Minsk. The previous consul had, er, fallen out of a window before being accidentally shot and them bombed into oblivion (or some such). Graham Chapman´s Chinese character pretends to have spent a lot of time in England but can´t pronounce "Cornwall." Seriously funny stuff, and it´s hard to believe how much they´re getting on - John Cleese is 80 now!
RIP Terry

Monty Python and the Holy Grail was played so often around our house that all of my kids quoted from it constantly. "It's only a flesh wound!", "Come back here, you coward!", "I fart in your general direction", etc. "Bring out your dead!" was our typical wake-up call.
Terry Jones played Sir Bedevere in the "Witch-Burning Scene", from which I draw my username.
RIP, Terry Jones. You brought us much joy.

Poor chap had some kind of dementia, couldn't write or talk toward the end. What a shame for a comic genius. RIP, or maybe he's just pining for the fjords.

Monty Python. Sometimes silly... sometimes side-splittingly hilarious. It's good they came along when they did; the social justice warriors would shout 'em down in 2020.
