Tensions are simmering in Madison, Wisconsin, following an officer-involved shooting on July 22. The suspect, 38-year-old Corey Durrell Ruiz, was armed with a knife when he was shot by police. Ruiz also has a lengthy felony rap sheet and was not compliant with his supervised release after being freed from prison back in May. At a press conference, an anti-cop protester held up a sign calling for the murder of law enforcement, and another man interrupted the police chief's press conference.[snip]Madison is a deep blue city run by leftists, by the way. Sausalito’s new city manager was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of felony burglary after Marin County sheriff’s deputies responding to a noise complaint found her aboard a yacht that authorities say belonged to someone else.

The number of kids pulling the trigger in shootings in the city has skyrocketed 133% in the nine-year span since a lefty Albany law gave young offenders carte blanche to run amok, NYPD data obtained by The Post show.
Fifty-six children have been arrested or identified as suspects in shootings so far this year, more than twice as many at the same point in 2017 when there were 24, the data show.
The only time the number of teens arrested for shootings was higher was in 2021 when there were 57 and 2022 when there were 76, the data shows. The controversial law, called Raise the Age,

A Biden-appointed majority on the First Circuit Court of Appeals handed President Donald Trump a major setback Saturday, refusing to lift an injunction blocking key election-integrity provisions of his executive order in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
The three-judge panel denied emergency stay requests filed by the Trump administration and 12 Republican-led states, leaving in place a lower-court order that prevents the Department of Homeland Security from distributing federal citizenship lists and blocks the U.S. Postal Service from applying new mail-ballot requirements in the plaintiff states for elections held on or before November 3, 2026.
Three more subcontractors that worked on the Obama Presidential Center have filed legal claims saying they are owed nearly $900,000, adding to a growing list of payment disputes surrounding the project.
The companies each filed mechanics liens against the Obama Presidential Center property, a routine legal tool used on construction projects to recover unpaid construction costs. The subcontractors claim they are owed money for structural steel, excavation and concrete, and gymnasium flooring work performed on Home Court, the Center's 60,000-square-foot basketball and events facility.
