A federal panel of judges has declared Alabama cannot move forward with its redrawn map that would be more favorable to Republicans and compliant with a U.S. Supreme Court decision against racist gerrymandering. Fox News posted on X Tuesday morning, “BREAKING: A three-judge federal panel is temporarily blocking Alabama from using a newly proposed congressional map that Republicans hope would improve their chances in a key U.S. House race.” Instead, “The court ordered the state to keep using the court-approved districts from the 2024 elections while the long-running redistricting case continues.” [Tweet] It is unclear why Alabama officials should comply with the panel’s order,

So now Judges think they can overrule the U.S. Supreme Court. They should all be held in contempt of court.

Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appears to be moving toward a possible run for the White House, Axios reported Sunday. Although she has said she has not made a decision on the matter, Ocasio-Cortez has been on a national tour rallying voters and making endorsements in several races, the outlet said. The Axios article detailed some of her recent movements and plans: Addressed the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta with Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock. (Democrats note that Warnock, the church’s senior pastor, doesn’t always allow visiting politicians to speak at this church. Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg didn’t speak when he visited in March.) … This week, Ocasio-Cortez will travel to Missoula, Mont.,

Billionaire California gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer said he fully supports transgender-identifying males playing on females’ high school sports teams — despite concerns over women’s safety and fairness in athletics. Steyer, who is endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), made the comment during an interview on the I’ve Had It podcast with far-left host Jennifer Welch, which was released Sunday. “You talked about trans people. I’m totally in favor of trans athletes in high school,” Steyer said. “I think when you understand the vulnerability, the stress, the danger of being a trans kid, and you understand that almost half of them try to commit suicide,” he said,

In another major win for President Trump’s efforts to right the wrongs of the weaponized Biden DOJ and FBI, and to fully restore the rights of all January 6 defendants, the Department of Justice filed a motion late Friday night, May 22, asking D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta to dismiss with prejudice the underlying indictments against the eight innocent Oath Keepers defendants whose sentences were commuted (but not fully pardoned) by President Trump. They were released from prison on Inauguration Night 2025, just as four Proud Boys leaders likewise had their sentences commuted rather than pardoned, and were released from prison.

In an incident that belongs in Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, a dog managed to fire a gun and hit a woman while it was inside a vehicle last week in Nebraska. As KNOP reported, Scottsbluff police officers were called to Short Stop at 2002 Avenue I in the city after receiving a report that a person had been shot by a BB gun at 12:07 p.m. They were later informed while driving to the gas station and convenience store that the incident involved a shotgun. When the police arrived, they were confronted with a shocking truth: the culprit responsible for the shooting incident was not human. Rather, it was man’s best friend.

A federal judge on Tuesday rejected a bid to block Tennessee’s new Congressional map that eliminates a racially gerrymandered district. Earlier this month, Tennessee Republicans passed a new congressional map that eliminated Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen’s Memphis district. Tennessee became the ninth state to approve a new congressional map amid the redistricting wars. A judge previously allowed Tennessee’s new congressional map to stand. Tennessee Republicans eliminated Cohen’s congressional district after the Supreme Court’s blockbuster ruling on racial gerrymandering.

CNN is one of the worst, if not the worst, offenders in the mainstream media when it comes to feigning "concern" over President Donald Trump's health, in part by using out-of-context photos and videos of Trump with his eyes appearing to be closed during meetings as "evidence" that he has a sleeping problem. The most recent instance came earlier in the day, Tuesday, when they brought in a resident "health expert" to demand explanations from Trump's doctors about supposed issues related in part to Trump allegedly being seen falling asleep when he's sitting in the Oval Office during informal press briefings and the like.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is known for taking on many jobs at once, and on Tuesday, he donned the hat of chief U.S. trade negotiator with Armenia as he signed a strategic partnership agreement with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The agreement covers critical minerals and also bolsters cooperation on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), a 27-mile rail and road corridor that would go through southern Armenia. It would enhance trade by linking Central Asia to Turkey and Europe while — crucially — bypassing Russia and Iran.

They are more independent, more reliant on agriculture and the energy sector, with lower populations, and with a population more inclined to conservative viewpoints. For some time now, the energy-rich province of Alberta has been making noises about seceding from Canada. Now, it looks like that may come to a vote. The Telegraph's Michael Taube has some thoughts on that.

Since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, Congress has passed only one major piece of legislation. While the “One Big Beautiful Bill” was a notable accomplishment, it should not have been the only legislative victory for the Republican Congress. During the same period of President Joe Biden’s administration, a Democratic-led Congress passed four major pieces of legislation: the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, the CHIPS Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Of course, these bills harmed our economy, propelled wasteful spending, and funded ludicrous

The Iranian officials authorized to work with the Trump administration have been having a difficult time communicating inside of their own government system — and it's a central reason why the details of a potential deal with Iran and past agreements have been slow to emerge. When the U.S. sends proposed details, the difficulty in reaching the supreme leader means there can be a long delay
