Should the USDA Be in Iowa or D.C.?

Washington D.C. is the capital of a vast federal bureaucracy, much of it useless, and completely out of touch with the people it rules over. The USDA is one of the best examples. How much non-drug agriculture happens in D.C.? Not a lot. So the Trump admin is proposing to move a bunch of USDA functions to farm country. USDA announced on Thursday that the Food Safety and Inspection Service will move about two-thirds of its D.C. metro area workforce out of the region to relocate them to “mission-critical locations,” including new facilities in Iowa and Georgia. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said in a statement that this reorganization ensures FSIS “is positioned where

How about moving Congress back to their respective states. They can meet on Zoom and vote same way. They could have an annual conference.

To answer the headline; anywhere in the plains. Here's a link to the USDA budget summary https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2026-usda-budget-summary.pdf . A whole bunch of what the USDA does has little to do with agriculture. A big chunk goes to salaries. An example of mission creep. The USDA like a fruit tree, needs a severe pruning.

This is an excellent idea. Iowa or Nebraska would be good places for the USDA. Large numbers of their employees would refuse to move, and could then be terminated. During the last Trump administration, one government agency moved its operations to Grand Junction, Colorado. Hundreds of their workers refused to move, and were terminated. They weren’t replaced. No one noticed.

I once knew the guy who was the head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Is that still an acceptable name?) that was based in Washington. He spent most of his time skiing in the Northeast. The only Indian up there is Lizzy Warren.

Someone stole 15 giant agricultural drones in New Jersey — and experts fear a “nightmare scenario” if they end up in the hands of terrorists. The fleet of Ceres Air C31 drones, which are about the size of an ATV, were ripped off March 24 by a bogus delivery driver who duped shipping and logistics company CAC International in Harrison, according to The High Side substack. The four-armed flyers can carry and spray up to 40 gallons of liquid chemicals, such as fertilizers and pesticides, and unleash the payload over a 15-acre span in just seven minutes. The FBI is concerned the chemical-spraying drones could be used to disperse biological or chemical

The Tennessee state Legislature passed a bill Thursday that would expand the right to use deadly force to include property protection, easing a fear long held by gun owners. The legislation, which would allow citizens to use deadly force to prevent arson, burglary, animal cruelty and robbery in certain situations, passed on party-line votes in the Republican-dominated Tennessee House of Representatives and Tennessee state Senate. Supporters of the legislation argued that law-abiding citizens should be allowed to protect their life’s work, Nashville-area TV station WKRN reported.

Cincinnati police chief Teresa Theetge was fired Thursday for ineffective leadership and failing to put more police officers on the street amid a crime surge despite the city manager begging her to do so. Theetge, who has been in the role since 2022 but was a police officer for 35 years, was placed on administrative leave in October over her failure to bring down the city's violent crime rate. "I recognize Chief Theetge’s more than 35 years of service to the Cincinnati Police Department and to this City." Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long told Fox News. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on Friday urged real estate professionals to share neighborhood school and crime data with prospective homebuyers after websites like Redfin and Trulia stopped during the Biden administration over racial discrimination concerns. “Buying a home is one of the most significant decisions a family will ever make,” HUD Secretary Scott Turner said in a statement. “Americans should not be left in the dark about vital facts like neighborhood safety or school quality. “HUD is making clear that real estate professionals can openly and lawfully provide this information in an equal and consistent manner to American families.” A 2021 directive to HUD from former President

The Department of Justice on Friday directed the Bureau of Prisons to expand death penalty protocols to include pentobarbital injections and firing squads as part of broader actions to strengthen the federal death penalty. "Today, the Department of Justice acted to restore its solemn duty to seek, obtain, and implement lawful capital sentences — clearing the way for the Department to carry out executions once death-sentenced inmates have exhausted their appeals," the DOJ memo obtained by Fox News read. "Among the actions taken are readopting the lethal injection protocol utilized during the first Trump Administration, expanding the protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad, and streamlining

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Millions more Americans might qualify for dual Canadian citizenship under a recent change to Canada’s requirements that has led to a surge in applications from its southern neighbor. For people like Zack Loud of Farmington, Minnesota, it was a surprise to learn that under a new law, Canada already considered him and his siblings citizens because their grandmother is Canadian. “My wife and I were already talking about potentially looking at jobs outside the country, but citizenship pushed Canada way up on our list,” he said. Now, Hamawy is running for Congress in New Jersey while promising to defund the military, abolish ICE, and dismantle the Department of Homeland Security. RINO Senator John Cornyn’s team left up an old YouTube video on his official Senate channel where the Texas RINO openly pushes amnesty for illegal aliens, and it stayed there until conservatives unearthed it this week. While Cornyn pretends to be a born-again border hawk in his desperate fight to survive a MAGA primary challenge, his own Senate YouTube page was still hosting a video that proves exactly where his heart lies: open borders, amnesty, and America Last. The video, first highlighted by grassroots warrior Scott Presler, shows Cornyn advocating for policies that would reward lawbreakers with legal status. His team “forgot” to scrub it from the official record… or maybe

Last year, on the 13th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, an unconstitutional program he had conjured into existence by executive fiat, Barack Obama was singing its praises. "DACA was an example of how we can be a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws," Obama said. "And it's an example worth remembering today, when families with similar backgrounds who just want to live, work, and support their communities, are being demonized and treated as enemies." And it’s all a lie. Since President Donald Trump returned to office, his administration has arrested nearly 300 DACA recipients nationwide — 75 of them in Texas alone,

McNeil has been leading the agency since April 2025, records show. If we don’t reverse course, this “Day After Tomorrow”-esque confluence of events could potentially expedite extinctions.

Now that the Southern Poverty Law Center is being exposed, it is important to look back at some of the outrageous claims made by this group in the past. It is absolutely amazing to think that in 2015, they put Dr. Ben Carson on an ‘extremist’ list. Is ‘extremist’ one of the words that comes into your mind when you think of Carson? Perhaps when they targeted one of the most renowned and highly respected pediatric brain surgeons in the entire country in this way, it was a clue that they were not operating in good faith. They were eventually forced to take Carson off the list and then apologized…

Democrats and their ideological allies really do hate America. Earlier this week, Democrat Senator Chris Murphy highlighted a disputed news story claiming that a shadow fleet of several dozen Iranian vessels had successfully eluded the U.S. Navy’s blockade near the Strait of Hormuz. Above what appears to have been Iranian propaganda, Murphy wrote one word: “Awesome.” How much does a Democrat senator have to hate the country he putatively represents to root for a foreign enemy presently engaged in battle with the United States? Murphy’s choice to side with Iran’s Islamic terrorists over American servicemembers should surprise no-one.
