Will the Kurds Fight? If They Do, All
Hell Could Break Loose in the Middle East.

Iranian Kurdish militias in Western Iran and Northern Iraq have been sneaking back and forth across the Iranian border in the last week. They are contemplating joining the fight to oust the Iranian government and gain greater autonomy or, God forbid, carving out an independent state for Kurds across the region. Kurds are a distinct ethnic group who occupy a swath of territory from northwestern Iran, Eastern Iraq, Eastern Syria, much of Southern Turkey, and a slice of Azerbaijan. Taken together, the Iran-Iraq Kurdish militias would be a force that Iran's Revolutionary Guards would have to reckon with.

Comments:

Every time something like what is going on in Iran crops up, someone complains that it "might destabilize the Middle East" if minorities throughout the area are emboldened to seek self governance. Maybe it's time we try some destabilization. It doesn't seem like the efforts to keep it stable have worked very well.

Surely doing nothing is not an option, only God knows the outcome before the beginning. PDJT, et al, must pray, trust in God and use their best judgment with the information and knowledge available to them by His grace. This is a time for prayer from every believer in this country and all over the world. May God continue to bless every effort to do right.

All hell could break loose and 90% of it will be in Iran. The other 10% will be the usual hot spots.

This mess is due to poorly drawn lines after the WWI. The borders of the Middle East were drawn by a Briton, Mark Sykes, and a Frenchman, Francois Picot. They knew nothing about what they were doing, as they drew random lines for countries that separated people groups.

When I was stationed in southeastern Turkey in 1983/84, the Kurds were not our friends. So now it's "the enemy of my enemy, is my friend?"

While the former Iranian territory is still up for grabs, why not carve out a piece for the fake palestinians that once claimed Gaza and call it their "state?" Two birds - and they become somebody else's problem instead of Israel's.

Pro-abortion ghouls are giddy in Pennsylvania after the Commonwealth’s House Judiciary Committee advanced seven horrific abortion bills yesterday. In summary, the bills would provide cover for existing abortion clinics and help the abortion industrial complex grow through favorable legislation and state funding. All seven bills passed along party lines – 14-12, with Democrats voting in favor of the proposals that would make Pennsylvania one of the more attractive states for mothers wanting to kill their unborn children.

Here’s a controversial one for you. A far-right group called Return to the Land (RTTL) has built a whites-only community in northeastern Arkansas and is planning to expand this concept to Missouri. RTTL characterizes itself as a “private membership association, (PMA)” according to The Independent. The objective is to build a refuge for folks with “traditional views and European ancestry.” (SKIP) The group bans nonwhites, LGBTQ people, and non-Christians from living in its community.

Something remarkable is unfolding across America. The once-unquestioned reverence for expert opinion — from polished T.V. pundits to Ivy League data wizards — is crumbling. Despite all the doomsaying, this collapse might just be the healthiest thing to have happened in public life for generations on end. What, exactly, is taking place? A lot of things. Americans’ trust in scientists has declined since April 2020, dropping from 87% to 73% by Fall 2023, particularly among Republicans.

For decades, the United States stood as the embodiment of capitalism’s promise—an open market economy where innovation, investment, and individual enterprise fueled not just prosperity, but unprecedented global power. Throughout the 20th century, the U.S. leveraged its financial systems, corporate reach, technological leadership, and cultural influence to build an international order shaped largely in its image. China studied that success story—and decided to rewrite it.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) survived a brutal character assassination attempt. He’s not going anywhere, though his staff might, because young Democrats are raging antisemites, woke acolytes, and all-around insane. Fetterman is a committed liberal; he’s not a conservative. But to the younger crowd, he might as well be a Nazi, especially with his ardent support for Israel. He also thinks that striking Iran’s nuclear facilities should be on the table, but that’s another matter.

In February, Georgia's heartbeat law, which restricts abortion after a discernable heartbeat is detected (around six weeks) except in the cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother, was once again upheld by the Georgia Supreme Court in a 6-1 decision. But for a faction of life advocates known as "abortion abolitionists," so-called heartbeat bills do not stop abortions from happening. Their aim is to change this, making it illegal to have one.

The political world spends a lot of time discussing former President Donald Trump's lead over the Republican field in national polls -- currently at 45.4%, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls. But, of course, the race will unfold as a series of state contests, beginning in Iowa on Jan. 15, New Hampshire on Jan. 23, Nevada on Feb. 8 and South Carolina on Feb. 24. By then, Republicans should have a pretty good idea who their 2024 presidential nominee will be.

Regardless of any delusions you, I, or anyone else may harbor on this issue, the odds that Donald Trump will be saddled with at least one FELONY conviction out of the dozens he is currently charged with are exceedingly high. It doesn’t even matter whether the charges are with or without merit. If a firing squad is pointing 91 rounds at someone, at least one of them is gonna hit the target. This means that this time next year, instead of campaigning or even accepting the GOP nomination in person, the former president could either be in prison or on house arrest, playing golf with an ankle bracelet.

Though it is finally cooling, lingering effects are still seen with the cultural furor surrounding the beer brand Bud Light. In 2020, amid the Black Lives Matter upheaval seen across the country, companies were bending the knee on a regular basis. Many brands and corporations came out with statements and pledges about altering their practices and evolving their corporate structures, with "diversity" being thrown about in their mea culpa. Of course, lost in these self-congratulatory announcements was the unspoken admission they did not realize they were making: If you are promising to no longer be "racist," that means you are stating you had previously been a racist company.

Independent journalist Mike McCormick served as a White House stenographer during the Obama administration, an experience that provided him with both insider knowledge and a unique perspective. In a recent Substack post, McCormick questioned why, less than two weeks prior to former President Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Obama administration chose to give the “green light” to lift the moratorium on federal funding for gain-of-function research, or research intended to increase the lethality or the transmissibility of a pathogen.

Susan Arnold, writing at Townhall, August 11, reported that Republican support for Donald J. Trump to seek a second term as president increased, significantly, in the aftermath of the FBI swoop-down on his Mar-a-Lago home, August 8. What if this is just as Democrat Machiavellians figured? What if the Democrat political masterminds (definitely not including our hapless president) believe that their best chance to hold the presidency in 2025 would be if Donald J. A significant number of House Democrats voted “no” on declaring the Islamic Republic of Iran a “state sponsor of terrorism.” Sponsored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), the resolution passed the U.S. House on Thursday by a 372-53 vote. Two Democrats voted present. While squad members like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) were expected to vote “no,” a full 53 proved somewhat surprising. The resolution said nothing about President Trump’s strikes on Iran, while saying the regime “remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provides substantial financial and military support to groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis,”

American gasoline prices continued to rise on Friday and are up the most of any week since 2022. Iran widened attacks on energy-producing countries near its borders and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to shipping, dashing hopes for a quick resolution to a crisis sending shockwaves through global markets. The United States last Saturday began a military campaign in Iran, one that has continued throughout the week with aggression. Friday at 1 p.m. Eastern, the U.S. national average price for regular gasoline had jumped approximately 35.9 cents per gallon from the same time in the previous week, reaching approximately $3.34 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

By blocking a Senate vote that would let the SAVE Act become law, Democrats are setting themselves up for big trouble — since their arguments against voter-ID are so transparently absurd. Per Pew, 83% of all American adults support requiring some form of ID to vote in US elections — and that includes 71% of Democrats. Which explains the massive alliance of left-wing groups mobilized to fight the voter-ID measure that should appear on the ballot this fall in California, a state Democrats now completely dominate. The ACLU, Common Cause and so on would love to derail the measure before it faces a vote, even though

The argument against the war with Iran boils down to two points. The first point is that this war was initiated by the hated President Trump, and so it should be opposed. That point cannot be rebutted because it is not a point at all; it’s simply a reactionary expression of hate by people who scarcely bother to conceal their hope that Iran wins. So, let’s move on to the second point. The second point is that we were able to handle Iran’s aggression for many years without going to war, and so we could have continued to handle its aggression for many more years without going to war.

We should all be concerned about serious problems with our elections, the heart of our democracy. But we can’t fix problems that we refuse to face. There was no better example of the head-in-the-sand attitude than what was recently demonstrated by Kristen Welker of NBC’s prestigious Meet the Press, as she held forth with House Speaker Mike Johnson in February, regarding, among other topics, the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. In the wake of the Trump administration’s FBI seizure of 2020 Georgia election records, Welker barked at Johnson that raising questions about the validity of the 2020 election is dangerous to our democracy.
