The Obama Presidential Center’s grand opening celebrations will begin in June, almost five years after its groundbreaking in Chicago, the Obama Foundation announced. The center -- a museum and public gathering space in honor of former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama -- will be dedicated on Thursday, June 18, and the campus will open to the public the next day, the foundation said in a press release. The celebrations will run through June 21 "with a series of events that bring together the changemakers, community members, volunteers, and supporters who made the Obama presidency a reality and

His “Glory Days” with some fans have passed him by. Bruce Springsteen’s fans are furious over the legendary rocker’s astronomical ticket prices for his upcoming “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour, which critics argue are unaffordable for his “working class fanbase” and contradict his Man of the People image. The woke New Jersey billionaire is pushing the anti-President Trump “No Kings” agenda in his advertising campaign for the 20-date tour with his E Street Band — but is ironically charging prices fit for royalty, at up to $3,000 a ticket. “I couldn’t be more disappointed in the Boss … how

A significant number of House Democrats voted “no” on declaring the Islamic Republic of Iran a “state sponsor of terrorism.”
Sponsored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), the resolution passed the U.S. House on Thursday by a 372-53 vote. Two Democrats voted present. While squad members like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) were expected to vote “no,” a full 53 proved somewhat surprising. The resolution said nothing about President Trump’s strikes on Iran, while saying the regime “remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provides substantial financial and military support to groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis,”

American gasoline prices continued to rise on Friday and are up the most of any week since 2022. Iran widened attacks on energy-producing countries near its borders and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to shipping, dashing hopes for a quick resolution to a crisis sending shockwaves through global markets. The United States last Saturday began a military campaign in Iran, one that has continued throughout the week with aggression. Friday at 1 p.m. Eastern, the U.S. national average price for regular gasoline had jumped approximately 35.9 cents per gallon from the same time in the previous week, reaching approximately $3.34 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

The BBC is facing backlash after BBC Persian mistranslated comments made by U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth during a broadcast. In the original speech, Hegseth made clear that U.S. military operations in Iran are aimed at Iran's regime rather than its citizens, stating, "It turns out the regime that chanted 'Death to America and death to Israel' was gifted death from America and death from Israel. (snip)" However BBC Persian translated this as "It turns out the people who chanted 'Death to America and death to Israel was gifted death from America and death from Israel," making it look as though the Iranian people (snip) are being targeted (snip)

In yet another decision that has ignited widespread fury among victim's rights activists and law enforcement, the California Board of Parole Hearings has granted early release to Roberto Detrinidad, a convicted home invasion rapist who described his heinous crime as his "Super Bowl of Crime." Detrinidad, an HIV-positive felon sentenced to life in prison for breaking into a San Francisco woman's apartment and sodmizing her while she slept, will walk free from San Quentin State Prison on May 5. 2026 -- unless Governor Gavin Newsom intervenes. The shocking parole after only 11 years exemplifies the dangerous consequences of Newsom's criminal justice reforms (snip)

A former Trump administration official wasted millions of taxpayer dollars given to Immigration and Customs Enforcement to purchase thousands of employee vehicles that the agency cannot use to arrest illegal immigrants, according to sources. (snip) "ICE has never had marked vehicles," the first person familiar with the purchases said in a phone call. "In talking to people, they're like, 'We don't use these, we can't.'" The saga (snip) speaks to the different ways political appointees at the department have tried to approach operations versus how career law enforcement officials have historically done so.

Jesse Jackson's funeral was held Friday at the House of Hope on Chicago's South Side. Every major Democrat who still matters showed up: Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Jill Biden, California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
That’s right: sitting with a bunch of other couples, Barack Obama once again went stag. The Obamas themselves issued a joint statement about Jackson's death that made Michelle's absence on Friday all the more glaring. "Michelle got her first glimpse of political organizing at the Jacksons' kitchen table when she was a teenager," the statement read. "And in his two historic runs for president, he laid the foundation for my own campaign

One of Jeffrey Epstein’s prison guards googled the sex predator minutes before he was found dead — and also made a mysterious $5,000 cash deposit 10 days before the predator’s jail-cell suicide, new Department of Justice documents reveal.
Tova Noel was one of the two Metropolitan Correctional Center workers accused of falsifying records to say they checked on Epstein throughout the night before his Aug. 10, 2019, suicide.[snip]
Earlier that shift, Noel, 37, shopped for furniture online and snoozed on the job instead of making the mandated checks on Epstein every 30 minutes, while Thomas perused motorcycles, prosecutors said.

In deep-red Texas, the Democrats have chosen a Senate candidate whose Christian faith the party hopes will be a potent weapon, but whose unorthodox views range from God is nonbinary to there are six sexes.
“God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between,” said James Talarico, a state representative and, now, the Democratic nominee for Senate. “God is nonbinary.”
Progressive Christianity may be a hard sell
The statement is part of dozens of claims about God, Christianity, and morality that Talarico has made on the campaign trail, and before he ran for higher office, geared towards “[reclaiming] Christianity for the left.”

Officials say Operation Metro Surge cost Minneapolis over $203 million in impact. Many neighborhoods, like Lyn-Lake, are still feeling the effects. "It's definitely a taxing time," said Miguel Hernandez, the owner of Lito's Burritos on the corner of Lake and Bryant. Hernandez only opened the restaurant in November. (Snip) "It only takes one sighting in front of your building or supermarket, that's going to clear out your night," said Hernandez. "All of a sudden no one's coming by because they're scared to." "It was day to day on how people felt," Hernandez added, saying he's definitely not the only one

By patiently and methodically setting the stage, President Trump has realigned the Middle East, formed a strong new alliance against communism and narcoterrorism in this hemisphere, and is forcing power-grabbing federal judges to stay within their constitutional lane.
The Middle East
There are ridiculous claims about the targeting of the Mullahocracy. The truth is clearer: Iran posed an obvious threat to almost every country. In negotiations with Iran to avoid warfare, Steve Witkoff was informed by Iran’s negotiators that it was “proud” it had evaded all previous ”oversight protocols.” They bragged that they controlled “360 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium” from which they could make 11 nuclear bombs.
