Super Bowl LX: Seahawks defense throttles
Patriots, 29-13

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Seattle Seahawks used a dominant defense and the strong running of game MVP Kenneth Walker III on Sunday to crush the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX. It was the Seahawks’ second Super Bowl title in four appearances. It came 12 years after Seattle defeated Denver 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII -- a fitting nod to the 12th man that has fueled the energy at Seahawks’ home games. The game, before 70,823 fans at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, showcased a punishing, opportunistic defense by the Seahawks that rendered Patriots quarterback Drake Maye mostly ineffective all night.

Since I didn't have a dog in the Super Bowl hunt, I barely paid attention to the game. Seattle looked certain to win from the first quarter onward. So I tuned out. But I did watch the patriotic "alternate" half time show on OAN. Wow! People who love the Lord, their families, and the USA are my kind of Americans. Good songs, good singing, good guitars ... what was not to like? Several times, I was in tears. Continue Charlie Kirk's inspiration. Support Turning Point USA!

Nothing against New England but they had one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this season. They also got lucky winning a dreadful AFL Championship game 10-7 over the Broncos, who were using a 2nd string QB. Buffalo would have been more competitive, but they have a long history of choking and flamed out early.

After the NFL players chose to disrespect our flag and our country, plus the NFL's embrace and promotion of FanDuel and DraftKings, I no longer trust the outcomes of the games. Too easy to drop a pass or miss a FG, billion$$$ are made, and the fans lose. I watched the Olympics but tuned in to the TPUSA AllAmerican halftime., and loved it. Saw reports badmouthing the TPUSA viewer numbers, claiming that only ~4.1 million watched, on YouTube. But they did not mention the views on cable channel TBN, where I watched, and other streaming alternatives. The TPUSA numbers were purposely being under-reported.

If you liked defense, it was a pretty good game. The old adage, defense wins championships ruled yesterday. The Patriots offensive line has the "lookout block" down pat. You know, that's where you miss one of the four rushers that Seattle sent all game and yell "Look Out" to the quarterback. I deliberately missed Bad Bunny. I would have preferred Bugs Bunny or the Playboy Bunnies, so we quickly switched to OAN for the TP Halftime Show. And anyway, once my Packers are out of the playoffs, I consider football season to be over. Anything played in January or February after that are basically early pre-season games. Didn't have a dog in that fight after that.

I turned it on for the last half. Way one-sided game. I'm old so don't remember who wore the white uniforms but they committed what used to be called 'off sides', now I think it's false start, but I plainly saw the off sides, the replay showed it clearly again, and no flag. I lost interest after that. Looked to me like the game was thrown and it was boring anyway. When I was a young teen, I'd watch Sunday football with my dad. I do like a good game. Broke his heart when at 16 I decided I wasn't interested anymore and he had to watch alone.

Should have been the first Super Bowl shutout. With the game in hand by the fourth quarter, the Hawks eased up, the Pats stumbled into a couple garbage time scores. Much like the outgunned Chiefs last year. Blake Maye was awful all game, he'd drop back and...freeze, playoff records for sacks and turnovers. What an ugly game.

I'm so glad that sports to me have become the new so what to me. I've gotten to an age where I just don't care anymore who wins or loses. The players in all sports are grossly overpaid and the tickets to events are just ridiculously priced. I saw a piece on tv that said a beer at this year's Superbowl costs $20, and a hot dog costs $15.

The problem was the show’s conceit: It was a message of unity, inclusion, and togetherness — in a language that 85% of the population doesn’t understand and cannot speak. That’s not unity. That’s division. Lo siento, Bad Bunny and/or the NFL, but the underlying metrics of the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show didn’t make a lick of sense: Only about 14% to 18% of the U.S. population speaks fluent Spanish — which means, of course, that 86% to 82% do not. Only 14% of the NFL’s total audience is Hispanic. The number of Latinos/Hispanics who speak English exclusively is growing, not shrinking:
