With Border Czar Tom Homan headed to take charge of Homeland Security efforts in Minneapolis and President Donald Trump finding some common ground with Gov. Tim Walz, a rapid reduction in tensions is thankfully well under way.
Alex Pretti’s death plainly prompted a sobering all around, as it should.
We’re glad to see Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem elbowed aside. Her performance in recent weeks as the situation in Minnesota escalated out of control did not serve the president or the country well.
Without anyone backing off on matters of principle, state and federal leaders now can find some accommodation —

So I guess the knives are out for Kristi Noem?

There may be some unknown reasoning behind this development but it smells too much like weakness. We shall see.

Walz, Frey and Omar are the problem, not Noem.

This was all created to overshadow the 3rd world fraud in MN, and to distract from the state Government's complicity in it. Once the useful idiots have outlived their usefulness, they will be sent home to await the next outrage order.
As always, crickets from the Attorney General's office. AGs have been Trumps biggest failure, with a zero percent record. Apparently in today's America, crime pays.

Bull. NOEM is taking the correct action. Signal Chat takes it far beyond peaceful protesting. Your wish wish washy approach is disturbing. Hopefully Tom will be successful.

This doesn't have a good smell to it.
Sounds a lot like a Walz win.

This so called change of heart has nothing to do with Pretti's death. And, how is all this on Kristin Noem? The editorial board had little to say about Timmy and Frey and how they caused all this by outright working against ICE (to the point of insurrection), but it was heavy on criticism of those working to fix the mess.
"Tom Homan is no shrinking violet, but he’s always been laser-focused on getting the violent criminals out; Walz would be wise to offer him maximum cooperation now."

I visited Minneapolis decades ago to attend a national conference. It was a very nice town at that time, and they had created a clever tourist catch phrase, claiming to be "The Mini Apple", as opposed to NYC. The logo was an apple with some snow on top. Nice city.
Today, I have no desire to visit a place that is proud of a statue of George Floyd, attempting to make a legend out of a drug-head thief. I want to remember it as it was, and don't even want to spend a few minutes at a stopover at their airport. There is something bad in the water in that city.

There shouldn't be any 'backing off' anywhere...ICE is arresting and deporting ILLEGALS, who shouldn't be in this country in the first place...the rioters are inciting violence against agents of the FEDERAL government..they should be treated as treasonous persons..

Once again, could it be that Trump got it wrong again. Yes, Tom Homan should have been involved up front on Minnesota. Big question, where was he? Kristi Noem did what should be done. As I see it, Walz, Frey, Ellison and the crazy anti-ICE groups won. We the average taxpayers in the U.S. want ALL the illegals gone. There is proof that they are stealing us blind. They suck up our social services. Send them back to their country and tell them apply legally. If Trump removes Kristi, this is a huge mistake. As I see it, Tom Homan was absent during this crap in Minnesota and he needs to take some responsibility. If he lets anyone go, try Pam Bondi.

The anti-Kristi Noem snark at the beginning of this article is unwarranted, and unappreciated. Trump has made a decision to use the insurrection hammer, and sent Homan to Minnesota to personally deliver the message. Noem is doing a great job, and cannot do more without the National Guard, or the military. Trump has decided to send Homan to Minnesota to deliver the message that the hammer is coming, or else.

Might be a good idea to let the area cool off and for the useful idiots to go home. The illegals will still be there in a month for another roundup.

Walz and the left are already spinning this as a yield from Trump, and they're looking real weak right now. The left is telling the crazies they won; that's yet to be seen.

False premise and flawed analysis of the situation by the NYP editorial board, imo. Equating the wrongdoers with law enforcement thus exonerating them of wrongdoing, and implying that they could finally agree to compromises after extensive changes and removal of bad actors in law enforcement. This isn’t about Noem. It’s about the “democratic” fraud they are trying to cover, and from which they are trying to escape consequences.
We can’t know from the outside, but this move appears to be just another step closer to resolving the whole mess to me. May God be with them to do that.

It won't stop by making Kristi Noem the sacrificial goat. It won't stop by knuckling under to the radical Bolsheviks - it will only embolden them more if they sense weakness. It stops when you apply overwhelming military force. Minneapolis has been getting away with total Chaos & lawlessness, and MN must face severe sanctions to dissuade them from continuing their outrageous destabilizing crimes against civilization.

Noem isn't the problem. The institutionalized graft and corruption within Minnesota IS the problem, and Walz and Frey are the point men. Recall that the immediate catalyst behind all of this was independent journalist, Nick Shirley, highlighting the rampant Somali community fraud that the state enabled last month. That got the attention of the Feds. However, DHS and ICE went after the low hanging fruit first: the criminal illegal aliens in the Twin Cities area. Walz and Frey capitalized on that tactical move as a convenient smoke screen to the erupting scandal. But in the process, Walz, Frey, Flanagan, and other state/municipal officials have dug their own political and legal grave with criminal conspiracy, RICO statutes ,and insurrection revealed in the Signal group chats. That's when Walz called Trump. As dumb as Walz is, he realized that Trump has him and the MN leadership by the gonads. Now they're cooperating with the Feds. Now MN state, county and municipal LEO will go after the known criminal illegal aliens and will turn them over from the county jails, instead of ICE doing their work for them.
Trump is still carrying the big stick but speaking softly to Walz... the Riot and Insurrection Act.

So what is to happen to the well over ten-fifteen million illegal aliens without known criminal records other than violating the immigration laws, who are now in the USA, who supposedly should not be arrested and deported according to the NY Post editorial board?
Will the wimpy Republicans be happy when the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats set up a process in Congress to transition them into millions of “New American” leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat supporters and voters to keep the Democrats in permanent political power, and create a situation, where wimpy Republicans can no longer even be elected to the positions of local dogcatchers. Clearly once a situation like that becomes reality the Democrats will again open the US Borders to all comers, especially Third World origin illegal aliens to permanently change the population demographics of the USA to that of a future minority-majority populated country to the permanent political benefit of the leftist, progressive and socialist Democrats.
